You thought you knew how crazy the TempleVerse could get? Hold my beer
LAST CALL is a collection of three drunken novellas set in the TempleVerse:
Motherlucker—Callie and Quinn’s girls night out in Vegas Collins—Quinn’s prequel novella to the Phantom Queen Diaries Beerlympian—Gunnar’s bachelor party.
Get ready for some shenanigans…You might need a drink just to comprehend the insanity.
Motherlucker Feathers and Fire #4.5 / Phantom Queen Diaries #3.5 Coming-of-age can be an awkward time in any young person's life. Hormones flair. Hair grows in weird places. Wrestling becomes foreplay. But at no point in any would-be adult's life is the transition more obvious than the 21st birthday—an American tradition as rich as drinking to celebrate other cultures. But for some, this transcendent experience is rockier than others.
For Aria and Sonya, weredragon sisters and birthday girls, it's about to be downright turbulent.
Head out for a night out on the town with Callie Penrose, Quinn MacKenna, Othello, and the Reds as they do their best to break the "what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas" adage by taking on the leprechaun mafia, hitting on Johnson Beaver, avoiding were-strippers, donning Dorian Gray's clothing line, robbing a bank, and drinking everything they can get their hands on, of course. If these girls thought Lady Luck was on their side, they should have known better.
Because in Vegas, the House always wins...
Collins Phantom Queen Diaries #0 prequel novella Every story has a beginning, but not every story has a happy ending. When you live in Boston, you make peace with that, or you find another town. A softer, gentler town. But Quinn MacKenna—a black magic arms dealer just coming into her own—isn't a soft, gentle person, and Boston suits her just fine. Which is why, after getting caught up in the middle of a kidnapping case, she sticks around for a night of blood and mayhem guaranteed to give her new nightmares.
Walk with Quinn as she and her old friend, Jimmy Collins, reconnect, forging a new bond of friendship under fire, even as their very beliefs are put to the test. Prepare yourself for wizardry and ritual, for victims and violence. For walking corpses and cleansing fire. Prepare yourself for the worst of what Quinn's world has to offer.
Because when the things that go bump in the night come out to play, sometimes you have to bump back...
Beerlympian Nate Temple #5.5 There comes a moment in every man’s life when he chooses to settle down with the love of his life. To put all those childish games and hobbies away to focus on building the rock-solid foundations of a true, everlasting, committed relationship—marriage.
Gunnar Randulf, the Alpha werewolf of St. Louis and Nate Temple’s best friend is ready to make that plunge. But before the wedding bells chime

Now, let's talk about this specimen of a man named Shayne...
Shayne Silvers writes the "Nate Temple Series" which features a foul-mouthed, flawed, young wizard with a chip on his shoulder attempting to protect St. Louis from the various nasties we all know and fear from our childhood bedtime stories.
Nate's been known to suckerpunch an Angel, cow-tip the Minotaur, and steal Death's horse in order to prove his point. His utter disregard for consequences and self-preservation will have you laughing and cringing on the edge of your seat.
But he has a lot to learn. Namely, how not to be so big of an A-Hole.

Shayne holds two high-ranking black belts, and enjoys conversing about anything Marvel, Magical, or Mythological. You might find him writing in a coffee shop near you, cackling madly into his computer screen while pounding shots of espresso.
There were three separate stories in this book. Motherlucker - Collins - Beerympian.
I will say this, if you have not read any of Shayne Silvers or Cameron O'Connell's books, then I would suggest waiting until you do. Once you know all the main characters and what their specialties are in their books, you will be able to appreciate this book so much more.
The first story entertained you by bringing you along on a 21st coming of age birthday party for Aria and Sonya, were-dragon sisters. Now along for the fun were Callie Penrose, Quinn MacKenna and Othello! This party took place in Las Vegas and what happened in Vegas was one hilarious unexpected problem after another. The adult women chaperones should have known things would never go smoothly when the night involved liquor!!
The second story was more subdued as it involved, at least that is what the authorities thought, was a child kidnapping. Quinn MacKenna, a dark magic arms dealer, took the lead in this sometimes funny, sad, nerve racking, fast paced zombie thriller.
The third story involved a bachelor party for Gunner Randulf, the alpha of St. Louis werewolf pack. Nate Temple (a wizard), Alucard (a vampire), Archilles ( yeah I typed it correctly - him), and Asterion (an honest to goodness Minotaur) joined in the fun, or sort of. Nicolas Flamel, yup from the Harry Potter books, created all the crazy and drunken stag night scavenger hunt shenanigans the men were to encounter. This story was not stop, pee your pants laughter!!
I totally enjoyed all three stories, the first and last stories had me laughing and in tears throughout them. Another wonderful addition to the "Templeverse Empire"! Kathy Barber Doyle - 10/19/2018
Finally, the stories that many people have been waiting so eagerly for. Those familiar with Shayne’s work may have noticed some gaps and references on some of the more recent books that seem to reference events we have no knowledge of. Well, consider those gaps filled. Last Call tells us all we would ever want to know.
Motherlucker Callie, Quinn , Othello, and the Reds are in Vegas to celebrate the Reds turning 21. What ensues is an alcohol and bad judgement fueled romp through the bars, casinos, and concerts etc of Vegas. By the end of this ride, you will never look at leprechauns or ninja turtles the same again.
Collins The most “serious of the stories in this collection, we get a look at the life of Quinn before the Phantom Queen Diaries began. Quinn reconnects with her high school friend, and one of Boston’s finest, Jimmy Collins. She then is somewhat forced to assist on a kidnapping case involving zombies, and a romp through the sewers.
Beerlympian Join Nate, Alucard, Achilles, and Asterion as the kidnap gunner to give him an Ashley approved bachelor party he will never forget. (or maybe he will forget, if he drinks enough) The crew is hitting New Orleans, and the Orleans magical community are helping Nate to send his best friend off in style, but no one in Nate’s entourage is allowed to know ahead of time what to expect. They embark on a booze filled adventure filled with mermaids, games of chicken, mechanical bull riding and streaking. Let the craziness begin.
I so do love all the Nate Temple books, short stories and references to him from the other spin off books! But my one and only gripe is that I just cannot stand the Quinn MacKenna books because of her character being so very selfish! She is the kind of person I would NEVER have anything to do with! Quinn is the complete and utter bitch that would do the Temple -verse a favor by dying and fading away! The only reason I have bought them up to the latest is that 1. I really dig Shayne Silvers' stories and keep going that he will start changing her character more towards all his other characters are... They are not100% a bitch or totally selfish or self absorbed or all of the above! I just cannot stand characters and people who are so selfish thinking only of themselves, "step on you to get ahead", that even though I've read the Quinn books I just don't seem to be absorbing and retaining any of her books other than the very first one! Quinn is the polar opposite of both Nate and Callie, and could be seen as a villain since villains are extremely selfish just like Quinn!
I am just glad that this books three stories are not focused on Quinn MacKenna the selfish queen bitch!
Question, why is the language inn her head English but what comes out her piehole is the heavy Irish accented "english!?" And shouldn't all words using the "th", like think making t'ink, shouldn't the "h" be always removed??
WHERE IS NATE TEMPLE (or Callie) books!?? All Quinn MacKenna books are only like intermission, waiting for the main events!!!
I really enjoy the Templeverse books and all they entail and find myself constantly in awe of Shayne Silver's prodigious output and the engrossing stories he tells. That said, Last Call is an awfully busy book. With two of the three stories about either a wild girls' night or a wild bachelor party, there are huge chunks of these stories where it just feels like Shayne and fellow author Cameron O'Connell are just throwing stuff against the wall in a frenzy to see what sticks (actually, I've been to many bachelor parties where that literally happened, but perhaps that's a story for another day). Don't get me wrong, the stories in Last Call are funny and endlessly entertaining, but the first and last "party" stories seem to be trying waaaay too hard. I much prefer the second story, a stand-alone Quinn McKenna tale going back to the beginning of her career and her relationship with her childhood friend turned suspicous cop, Jimmy Collins. It's a better told story, less frantic and with higher stakes, and more what I expect from this series. If you're a fan of the Templeverse, you'll enjoy these stories and probably tell me I'm dead wrong in my evaluation and that's fine. Just be sure you don't have anything pressing to do after you finish Last Call. You're gonna need a nap.
Great set of short stories set in the TempleVerse. Really enjoyed reading Last Call, delving further into the psyches (loyal, twisted, competitive, inane, etc.) of some of our favorite characters.
Motherlucker - Othello, Callie, Quinn, and The Reds hit the town in Vegas. If any city can withstand the ramifications of this Girls' Night Out, it's Vegas, right? Right?!? With drinking designs, wrestling woes, concert concerns, rainbow rampages, and turtle taunting, you'll drown in your own tears of laughter. Do you feel Lucky?
Collins - great backstory providing a glimpse at the strange kidnapping case, vaguely referenced previously in Phantom Queen Diaries, that reunited Quinn and Jimmy while putting Quinn firmly on Machado's radar. Really gives the reader a glimpse into Quinn's character.
Beerlympian-Have you ever laughed so hard that your stomach hurt? If not, read this immediately. If so, read it anyways, because some forms of pain are good for you. This side-splitting misadventure, set in New Orleans, details Gunnar's bachelor party. Written proof that supernaturals fight hard and play harder, resulting in the unbelievable and the insane. A Theater of the Absurd.
What is red, scaly and turning 21? You guessed it the Reds! Adventures abound as the twins bring down the house in Las Vegas. Quinn, Othello and Callie have their hands full trying to keep the girls out of trouble. Somewhere along the way, they find that they are all having an absolute blast. A night filled with portal hopping, boy bands and bar fights brings the ladies closer together.
When Nate Temple throws a bachelor party for his best friend, Gunner, he pulls out all the stops. Unfortunately, it seems that he is just as surprised at how the night turns out as his friends are. Mermaids and Valkeries and Voodoo! Oh my! Several lost articles of clothing later, they find themselves in a race to save Gunner's "wife" from would be kidnappers. Nate, Gunner, Achiles, Alucard and the Minotaur are given several tasks that they must complete before time (beer?) runs out, or else...
I thoroughly enjoyed the antics shared in this TempleVerse anthology. I dare you to not get sucked right in as you discover how much fun and mischief these freaks can get into in one long night. Five stars were well earned!
This trio of tales from the Templeverse has two side splitting stories and one dark one. All are first rate. First is a twenty first birthday party for twin sisters. A fun filled romp through Vegas with a freak hunter, a master hacker, a whatever the hell Quinn MacKenna is, and of course the guest of honor a pair of red dragon shifters ready to get their drink and freak on.
Next is a prequel to the Quinn MacKenna stories where her cop friend Jimmy Collins finds out that freaks are real. This one is dark but so is Quinn.. what else would you expect.
The third is the story of the often mentioned but never revealed antics from Gunters bachelor party in New Orleans. Living close enough to go there often this one brought back memories, or maybe flashbacks, of my twenties partying in the French Quarter. In true Shayne Silvers style get ready for a wild tale of drunkenness and debauchery. Oh and lots of boobies.
I wasn't going to write a review on this one because it didn't do for me what the other Temple-Verse books do, including all the jointly written ones about Quinn. However, if I just write about what I like that kind of takes the honesty away from me as a reviewer. So.
While the two stories about the "parties" did absolutely nothing for me, the Quinn story was an interesting add on. I love Quinn, and I enjoyed seeing her with Jimmy before he lost his mind. I know the fans clamored for stories about the bachelor/bachelorette parties, so I'm going to assume that Shayne wrote those quickly to appease his fan-base. But I much prefer the Nate Temple and Callie Penrose books when they share the exciting storylines of the characters I've come to love. Them, on the town, acting drunk and stupid well, that image I could have done without. I'm giving this a 3 because I did enjoy Quinn's and Jimmy's story.
Seriously, I have consumed all but 1of 2 of the novellas at this point having read all 3 sets of books in the entire TempleVerse. My last read was a pre-order of Ascension and I am about to catch the last novella(s) asap. Being so familiar with the characters made this set even better, and the best was saved for last. I wholeheartedly hope you do as I and read all of the books, but I still have a cramp in my sides and tears left to dry after Beerlympians. It by itself was epic even if you don't know the characters from the series, but I would be remiss by not mentioning the first book in this set not only for the pleasure derived from the storyline, but for including someone from all three sets of books and making me decide to go back through my purchased books in chronological order before the next pre-order. Honestly, the only thing missing from this Anthology...F'ing Carl!
With his usual flair for a crazy, mayhem-filled madness, we have the pleasure of reading these three drunken novellas set in the TempleVerse to get the answers we have been waiting eagerly for!
! I love the fast pace of the author’s previous books, and am glad to see it continue in this new series of adventures. All of the characters will draw the reader in, dragged along happily by the perfect frenetic pacing in the story line, and an all-around awesome read!
I love the fast pace of the authors books with twists and turns that never stop. The characters always draw the reader in for a totally awesome read! The humor is absolutely unparalleled and actually seems to get better with each book! Prepare yourself for enjoyment with one of the very best series you’ll find! Once again, a great job, gentlemen!
Fans of the Templeverse will love this collection of short stories. The characters alluded to these escapades many times. Now we don't have to feel left out of the action anymore. Tired of hearing about Gunnar's epic bachelor party in New Orleans and not getting any of the juicy details? Sick of wondering what Quinn could have possibly been doing in Las Vegas with Othello and Callie? Curious about that incident with the necromancer where Quinn's old friend Jimmy learns about the existence of the supernatural? Wonder no more. Shane and Cameron have officially invited everyone to be members of the in crowd by blowing open the details on a few of the biggest inside stories in the Templeverse. Hold onto your hats, the mayhem is about to begin.
Shayne Silvers is back with a total riot in a boxset of three TempleVerse stories labeled “Last Call: A TempleVerse Anthology Book 1 (TempleVerse Anthologies). The tales, Motherlucker, Collins and Beerlympian (my new favorite book title) are summarized perfectly well in the publisher’s blurb so I’m not going to regurgitate that. Instead I will just note that if you are in the Silvers Fan-Legion you’ll love these stories, even if you’re night, while you might indeed “need a drink just to comprehend the insanity, it’ll be more than worth it. But for the fact that I’m literally dictating this review my husband from my hospital bed I could go on and on with praises - the book definitely deserves it. Since I can’t do that I will simply note that the book is most definitely one to read, and it is easy to highly recommend. I’m definitely looking forward to the next book in this series.
OMG I can't get enough of this universe! I have stayed up every night all night for a week to read all the books, and now, since I've read all the published ones, I'm jonesing for more!! I can't believe how amazing this universe is, and how it truly sucked me in. I'm a voracious reader, and it takes a lot to get me to commit to just one series at a time (I usually have 3-4 books going at once.) I can honestly say that I dropped every other book I was reading, scrounged up all the money I could - bought every single book out so far - and binge-read. I can't wait for the next book(s) to come out. There are very, very few authors/series that I follow religiously on Amazon for the next book to come out... This author and series is one of less than a handful. Thank you for making this universe so entrancing, and I can't wait for the next adventure!
3 novellete's in the Templeverse are really jam packed jem's. From a bachelor party for Gunnar that involves drinking games with Nate and a trip to Vegas for the Red's 21st birthday with Callie, Quinn, and Othello, to my favorite of the 3 brand new stories, #2 Quinn's meeting up with Jimmy after his military career is done and now a policeman. A great new take on zombies, and a rip of a mystery kidnapping. You feel like you have read 3 full length novels they are so packed with snark, unbridled revelry, laugh out loud action....and booze. Well, not the zombies. But Quinn sure needs a drink after that winds up. If nothing else, it's a great primer for drinking games for a bachelor party. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
To be completely honest, I am not a big fan of in-between short stories, or just short stories in general. Not because they are horrible, but I just don’t like them as a rule and only read them if they have some information that is vital to the series. And, I still sometimes don’t read them. However, when this came out, of course I had to read it. And, I’m glad I did. I love how the authors packed some much into the stories, I felt like I was there, like the stories were a complete book, and I was completely and thoroughly entertained. Like the other books, I laughed until I cried. And, Lucky, poor, poor Lucky! You have to read this if you are a fan of any of the Templeverse series. Highly recommend! I received a complimentary copy which I voluntarily reviewed.
But you're going to love it. As much as every novel in the series tackles hard choices and rough situations, it's refreshing and fun to see the various characters have a chance to let loose and truly have fun. Toss in some back story for a new favorite on the roster and you have the makings of a truly epic collection of stories. I look forward to seeing what more awaits for everyone, but I know I'm coming back to these stories again for a laugh.
Humorous ,definitely serious ,never ,enjoyable certainly in some ways it connects a few books in others it observes the outlandish universe that is TempleVerse but enjoyable it mos t definitely is ,,I look forward to the rest of the series ,and will probably reread continually

Like every book in the TempleVerse, I couldn't put this down and laughed out loud most of the time. Which is interesting since part of the time I'm reading at work. It's well written written with very little difference between the two author's styles. I highly recommend this to anyone interested in genre. Or anyone who loves to read and laugh! The characters are all well developed and you don't have to have read any of the other books in any of the series, but you'll want to after reading this!
I've waited a long time of read about the insane bachelor's party. I loved it
The three short stories let us see our favorite characters let their hair down and blow off some steam. A night of fun, drinking, games, drinking, fighting, drinking, laughing, drinking, wrestling, drinking, thievery, and did I mention drinking. Lol plus a flash back to Quinn's past all in one fantastic, roll in the floor, can't stop laughing page turning book.
WOW I haven't laughed this much in ages, I had STITCHES!😂
The book was great! The trip to Las Vegas was hilarious, how can a group of people find themselves in such crazy situations all in theÌýspace of a few hours?! I also enjoyed Quinn's story, it wasn't as traumatic as I thought it'd be considering she wasn't keen to recall that past in her previous books, but it was sad, quite deep I think, no one wants to make that kind of desicion or beÌýput in those situations, and to me it added character to her and her story. Finally Nate F***ing Temple 😂 I have to say, those last challenges had me rolling, and Gunner "running but not really going anywhere" really killed me lol! They definitely got up to 'shaynanigans' and i had a blast reading it all, they seriously had my rolling 😂 (they really do draw trouble like a moth to a flame). I thoroughly enjoyed the book and seriously can't wait for the next installments. Keep up the good work guys, you're doing GREAT!!
😂😂😂🙆🙈🙈🙊Died laughing at the bachelor party shenanigans!
The bridal veil landed around my neck as I hopped onto the Segway and leaned the handlebar forward to get moving, draping the doll over the front like she was the prow of my pirate vessel. “Tally hoooo! I roared, pointing my finger in the air like one of the great pirate captains of history. I wished I could have been wearing Gunnar’s eyepatch to really get into character.
If I were a guy, I'd want friends like these guys. And if I were having a bachelor's party, these guys would be my chosen partners-in-crime!
I laughed more times than I can remember. Fun from the first page. Although, this book has several short stories, anyone that's a fan of Shayne Silver's, will enjoy this collection.
Next stop! Next book. Can't wait! Thank you Shayne and Cameron for a wonderful read.
Last Call is hilarious and exciting at the same time.
Last Call is hands down one of the funniest, most entertaining books I've read in a long time. I was snorting and crying with laughter all the way through. It was full of exciting adventure as well. Shayne and Cameron never disappoint. I can't wait for the next one!
The reviews said it was funny.... but I didn’t realize I’d have to change clothes from spitting coffee and other beverages out my nose so many times! From 21st birthdays you can hardly remember to bachelor parties you can inly hope to forget, Shayne and Cameron did not disappoint! 🤣
From the Red's birthday do,( Motherlucker), to an introduction to Quinn McKenna (Collins) and finally finding out what happened at Gunnar's stag party, (Beerlympians), bet that's a night Nate and the guys would probably be happier not to remember. I love it when things that are hinted at in the Templeverse get revealed.
An interesting series of three books. Not quite as good as Silver's other books.
I read these novellas to be introduced to Quinn. I was told it really wasn't necessary, but I did it any way. These weren't as interesting as I thought they would be. I will read the next Quinn book to see where this series goes.
I really enjoyed these stories. There was lot of hilarity, and even lots of action. Loved seeing Callie and Quinn meeting for the first time. The bachelor party was hilarious. Good job.
Read short storys. But since it was the latest, l gave it a try. Good storys. Just enough story to make it interesting, as always with a Shayne Silvers publication. Had heard a bit of refrences to Bachlor Party. Musta been a good one
