It all started with a bet. A bet I should have walked away from. But I didn’t. Jack August is gone, and he’s taken our secret with him. Now I no longer know who to trust, and I can barely keep my head above water. It’s only when Levi returns that I start breathing again. Being with him reminds me of a time when things were simpler, easier. A time when the only care I had was getting into Yale. A time when I was…me. Unfortunately, my decisions can’t be undone, and facing the consequences of my actions is unavoidable. I have no choice but to continue down this path of lies and deceit, forced to continue playing my part in this dangerous game. But as I start to figure out the rules, exposing the real threat, all I can do is hope that everyone I care for survives long enough for me to set things right.

descriptionI am not sure what to say about this one. I enjoyed book one (although I thought it was WAY too long); I was still curious to see where this story was heading. Unfortunately, this was another 7+ hour long book that dragged on and on, just to end in yet ANOTHER cliffhanger!

description

I like these characters. I like the over the top highschool drama. I like the friendships. However, this series needs some major editing and tightening up plot wise, and I am not sure I have it in me to read through a third overly long and slow book. We will see how I feel when book three is anounced.

SIDE NOTE: I am still 100% #TeamBenny I couldn't stand Blake OR Levi in this one.

Where to start my review..... I have no idea because this book both intrigued me and infuriated me at the same time. Okay okay okay let me explain if I can without giving to much away. So if you rad book one which I hope you have because here is a big spoiler alert Jack dies in book one and everyone is keeping secrets and lies and it is getting to them especially Lana. She is tired of the lies, secrets and deceit but she knows if she tells the truth everyone is going down even the boy she cares for which is crazy because she thinks he doesn't like her.

Lana is excited when Levi returns to school because she has missed him a lot and wants to talk to him about everything. She now realizes that her life without the popular boys in it was much easier and simpler but she is caught up in this web and in order to get out she will have to tell the truth that will destroy others just not herself.

This story at times dragged on for me taking me a full two days to read it and at times I put it down because it got to be over the top and boring but I kept reading it because I love the premise of the story and it has a lot of potential but damn one thing that infuriated me was the ending and that damn cliffhanger. I was like oh hell no no she didn't leave us where she did to wait God knows how long. Pissed me off it did but I will be stalking her to see when the next book comes out.

First of all, this book handles much more mature and disturbing themes. Here we learn of Lana’s dark past traumas and delve deeper into her rapidly declining mental state. We also finally meet Levi and learn why she was ignoring his calls, at first the reader is lead to believe he will be a third love I test along side Blake and Benny, however after finishing this book I believe that’s not the case as it’s very obvious they have a more tragic love that can never be and shouldn’t happen as they are much better off it’s a brother / sister relationship. We see a huge leap in Lana’s love life and learn how Benny and Lana’s emotions are risky due to the secret they share. The ending of this book had much more suspense than the previous instalment, however I felt as though it was a tad dragged out and should of ended on Blake’s line “he never left. Overall I throughly enjoyed this book and felt much more emotionally invested than the last. It was a good read and look forward to reading the next instalment.

The characters you’ve already fallen in love with cling to heart even more as their story continues. Seeing things from multiple perspectives adds a depth to the story and allows us to see their hidden vulnerabilities. It also gives us hints at the twists ahead while still somehow keeping us in the dark about where the story will lead. The emotional journey the characters take are beautifully written and take us on a wild ride that we hope never stops. Wildly entertaining with moments you’ll never see coming that’ll keep you on the edge of your seat. This is a sequel so I’d recommend having read the first book.

By freaking gosh, this book is just as twisted as the first if not even more!

If you are looking at this review than I freaking hope that you have read the first book because if not this might not make any sense. Poor Lana though, this girl has some major stuff happen to her and it makes her a little crazy.

If you liked the first book, you will enjoy this installment as well. We get a lot more deeper understanding with her relationship with Levi and knowing what type of person that she was. I do not always (most of the time) agree with the actions, but let's be honest who freaking knows how I would react in those situations.

There is a lot of steam and heat and a LOT of weird freaking decisions. It is long as all freaking get out and has ANOTHER cliffhanger, but man I was sucked in just like the first one. I won't give anything away, but I enjoyed this installment and WILL BE reading the next one!

4 outta 5 stars!

PS: I Received this book for free, but am voluntarily reviewing.

This is the second book in this awesome series, and Lana is carrying with her soul destroying secrets. Levi comes back to school, and Lana wants to tell him all of the secrets. This is a well written story which had me intrigued and hooked throughout this addictive page turner. The only down side for me was another cliffy, so hopefully it is not a long wait for the next story. I recommend this authors work for all.

Book 2 was even better than book 1! I love the fact that it is a decent length and you can really sink into the story and the characters. Lots of teenage angst, danger, sex, drugs and rock n roll! A great read. Hanging to hear what Levi’s big secret is!! Looking forward to the next instalment.

This story is the second in this series and it is killing Lana to keep the secret , if she doesn't then all of her loved ones are in jeopardy.
Then Levi comes back yo school and she wants to tell him everything.

This story took me a little longer to read than usual but one reason is work the other is I did not want to read to fast and miss something.
I really enjoyed this book.

Another cliffhanger, but that's okay. I'm going to hang in there and try and make it till the end. The mystery from Book 1 continues to plague the group of kids in this book, but it's starting to get a little mundane and confusing. I really liked the heroine in Book 1 but she's started to grate on my nerves. I'm going to read the next installment and hopefully we'll be getting somewhere closer to the end of the story by then.

What heartbreak!

Omg I am dying here. When will it ever end? When will Lana’s pain ever stop? This is killing me. Going to book 3 now. Hopefully there will be a happy ending.... 😭😭😭😭

I personally really liked this book. I loved the characters, yes, there are quit a few characters that you have to keep up with but they all play their own role through this book.

As you might know from my previous review for ‘Caught By The Bad Boys, I’ve got a strange guilty pleasure for this series that I can’t seem to get out of. I keep re-reading them over and over, most likely to figure out why I’m so obsessed with these characters and the romance factor constantly keeping me on edge.
As per my review for the first book, I should mention now that the story does include addiction, alcoholism, mentions rape (not explicit), drugs and murder, so it may be sensitive to some who would prefer to avoid this.

Lana is still a mix between amusing and irritating, she isn’t afraid to go for what she wants and she becomes more bolder in this book than the last, whilst also strongly losing it on occasion with her various addictions that she’s come to accept as being part of her. She can never forget what happened in the alley but she continues to distract herself around her friends and a future goal to get into Yale. She seems to be the only character worried about the dangerous group of men stalking them all for one reason or another.
Lana believes she finds happiness with Benny, but can’t control her feelings for Levi who fights to claim her attention and continually reminds her of what Benny used to do to her. She also can’t seem to get rid of Blake and his obsessive desire to kiss her and make her his which I couldn’t help but enjoy.

My feelings for Blake continued to change throughout this book, the author clearly wanted us rooting for him with his continuous perspective thrown in with his feelings for Lana clear and swoon-worthy, but then he does something stupid and you just want to hate him all over again. With Lana’s feelings all over the place, it’s difficult to see where they will end up, but it’s easy to see the author is having fun playing with us.

‘”You want a bet, Wilson? Blake asked as the corner of his mouth rose. I turned back to Blake and nodded with a smile. “If I lose, which will be a tiny chance, then you can decide on the punishment.
“And if you win?
“Then you have to kiss me.

I really liked Levi and his need for being Lana’s knight in shining armour, even if he goes about it the wrong way with his controlling personality as well as all the secrets he keeps, believing he’s simply protecting her. He’s her original bad boy after all, but with him there are no addictions to drag her down along the way. He’s fun, rebellious and determined to show the world that Lana is and always has been his princess, even if he can’t truly admit to himself that his feelings for her have always been real.

Carter became increasingly interesting in this book and a part of me can’t help but want him to win her heart by the end of it. The small sweet interactions between him and Lana are enough to make you realise something bigger might just come of it. Carter remains the player of the school, but a drunken phone call to Lana changes everything when he admits he wants to be someone different for her. He’s the only one who shares the same goal as Lana to pursue Yale giving them something no one else can’t a potential future.

‘”Psst. I heard a voice behind me and turned around to see Carter with his morning hair. He motioned me toward him. He brought me closer to him and put his arm around my torso. Our faces were inches away as I gazed into his blue eyes.

As you have guessed, the romance is all up in the air and even though it’s clear that Benny is the only one who can truly make her smile, I felt their connection was plan and boring compared to the competition the author threw at us. Even I don’t know who Lana will truly end up with. Whilst I love the idea of Levi finally admitting to himself that she is everything he wants and goes for it, I’m personally either rooting for Carter or Blake! Carter out of pure fascination, Blake to steal her heart. Or, you know, she might just end up in jail with no one

One thing I didn’t like as the story continued, is that I felt there were too many characters by the end which sometimes became confusing and a bit unnecessary to tell you the truth. It started off with the four bad boys and Miranda, then Miranda’s boyfriend, then Aiden’s girlfriend, then Benny and his friends, then Levi and his friends.. I felt like the author could have taken the time to build up some of the main characters rather than just including more into their group. There were too many crossovers with the characters but ultimately each one once wronged our main protagonist, Lana, in some way and asked for forgiveness then became a loyal companion.

This book ends on a cliffhanger that will keep you wanting more, check out the next part of the series; Fury, Caught By The Bad Boys #3.

The re-reviewing series strikes again! Book Number 12 and I always have more to say. As always, the edits I make to my previous review are in bold, now, here we go
This book is when Lana is about to do something absolutely crazy but she doesn’t go through with it. I would say but it is a huge plot and I don't want to spoil it. But i really want to talk about so I’ll try not to spoil it, at least. Like I said, Lana is >< this close to doing something irreversible and it’s a sad case of dramatic irony. Everyone is there to stop jeer from doing it but then a person, her person, who she doesn’t think is there (I think that as a reader you kind of pick up clues and figure it out along the way), appears, yet she still doesn’t know. And i know that sounds confusing now but if you read it you’ll understand. I felt so so sooo bad for Lana in this situation and so angry, she is actually so forgiving I can’t lie, I hate her for it- also after the ‘incident she and everyone else act like it never happened which actually pissed. me. off. Anyways I would definitely recommend reading the previous book before this one, the series is also strangely addictive: just a pre-warning.

Another favourite! After the first one I knew I’d have to read the second and it will be just as good and boy was I right! I am so engaged and intrigued that it is currently 00:01 pm…or am?? and I am about to begin the third! This author needs more recognition!! Highly recommend and I feel so so so bad for Lana :(. Xoxo
