Promise Cove is a lovely, compelling and beautiful book. I wasn't sure to begin with but it was amazing to read. From the Prologue, to Nick meeting Jordan, to them slowly falling in love and the endin had me in tears (which is rear but always makes me like a book even more) I also liked that Nick kept on seeing Scott and that former Unit members were there and Jordan's family.

One thing that bothered me is the name Hutton (where does it come from?, why did Jordan name her daughter that name? what does it mean?) But I can't give anything less then 5 stars just because I find the name funny.

Pleasant Pointe seemed like a backwards town and the only person I felt sympathetic towards was Murphy (the mayor and the man who owned the supermarket) Everyone else I didn't like especially Sissy Carr (the bitter, cold hearted and cruel bitch) and Kent Springer (the greedy bastard)

Vickie McKeehan wrote about some very important issues. PTSD after being to war how do you deal with survivors guilt?? How does the family at home come to deal with it? How can a town full of people listen to rumours and not a help a widow after the man died for his country? I loved the side line story of Lilly and Wally. The end was truely compelling that there was no overall big drama and that Jordan knew all along that just made me like it even more.

Wow. I'm so glad I selected this book on my Kindle today. Being under the weather, I wanted a good read, scrolled through my downloads, and decided to give Promise Cove a shot, having no clue the sweet love story I was in store for.

Driving in a convoy outside of Bagdad, Captain Scott Phillips drones on and on about his wife Jordan and daughter Hutton to Lieutenant Nick Harris. Nick humors him, although details of his commanding officer's domestic bliss and dream of renovating his Queen Anne Victorian into Bed & Breakfast bores Nick to tears. After playboy Nick declares marriage would be a rock around his neck, followed by Scott's assurance that a good woman like Jordan would change his mind, their Humvee is struck by a mortar. Scott's dying request to Nick is to take care of "his girls."

Suffering from PTSD, Nick makes good on his promise a year later, pulling up on his Harley in front of Scott's childhood home. He finds the Victorian rundown and Scott's beautiful widow in tears after losing a battle with a sander. In despair, Jordan confesses she is on the verge of losing her home to the stranger, if she doesn't open her Bed & Breakfast within two months. Nick had planned on sharing details of Scott's death and then leaving, with hopes of finally being free from plaguing nightmares of that day. However, much to his frustration, he knows he can't leave his friend's family in a dire situation, and without sharing who he is, the financier passes himself off as a "carpenter slash handyman."

The tender and touching love story that unfolds as Nick and Jordan make Scott's dream come true kept me clicking. The writing and characters are beautiful. Who wouldn't like a story about two kind and selfless people who find one another in their sorrow and brokenness? It was a very rewarding read by an extremely gifted writer. Being sick is the pits. The upside: Uninterrupted reading time to get lost in Promise Cove. I look forward to reading more by Vickie McKeehan.

I finished this book a few minutes before the New Year began. I kept dragging feet for the longest time, and not because it was slow and dull. Oh no, just the opposite. I didn't want it to end! I LOVED this book, but then again, look who the author is. I became a loyal fan when I read Vickie's first book, JUST EVIL. Then I finished the remaining two books of the EVIL trilogy. I must admit I was nervous to jump into a new series, a romance series, but I decided to take the chance. I've never been a fan of the romance novel. I recall my mother and her friends back in the mid 1960s, and the stories they read. Every once in awhile I'd sneaked a peek when she wasn't around to see what all the fuss was about: stupid women who usually fell in love with some creepy guy that abused first them in some way. Think Luke and Laura of General Hospital (if you are around my age). Anyway, the main characters, Jordan and Nick are so believable, so down-to-earth, so lovable. I found myself rooting for them right from the start. I will be writing a long review soon. For now, I just wanted to post how much this story moved me.

Promise Cove by Vickie McKeehan

Rating 5

The day Nick appeared on that Harley answered a year's with of Jordan's silent prayers. Since the death of her husband Scott, the repairs on the bed and breakfast had been sadly neglected. The bank was harassing her to make payments and she had no idea where the money would come from.
Nick owed his buddy his life. So, he found himself here in this small town, helping a widow and her young child. Fix what needs fixing and leave; that's the motto he lived by, right?
I have to say that I thoroughly enjoyed this novel. It seems the townspeople had a serious case of mean girls syndrome. But it really is like that in small towns. If you aren't from there, it takes a while just to acknowledged let alone fit in. This novel is a vivid picture of one man's pain from the past, a woman's heartbreak and how they both began to fix one another.
The characters are deep and well developed with an excellent fast moving plot. Overall a definite recommended read for readers 18+ due to mature content and language.

WHAT I LIKED:

This was a contemporary romance, which is one of the genres I don't typically read very much. All too often authors focus solely on the relationship forming between two people in a contemporary romance. Now there's absolutely nothing wrong with that, I just prefer more action in my stories or else I get bored. Believe me when I say this book is as far from boring as you can get.

It starts with a heartbreaking, and far too common I'm sure, scene where an IED forever changes the lives of several soldiers. First Lieutenant Nick Harris watches as his best friend, Captain Scott Phillips, dies and makes a promise to go to Pelican Pointe and visit Scott's wife and baby. Having suffered horrific wounds, both physically and emotionally, it takes Nick a while to follow through with his promise but eventually he does go to meet Jordan and her daughter Hutton. Despite Scott's descriptions of a wonderfully supportive town, Nick discovers Jordan has been on her own struggling to bring Scott's dream of a Bed & Breakfast to life. Through his time helping her work on the B&B, Nick finds himself falling for Jordan and torn by his loyalty to his best friend. When they first met, Nick didn't tell Jordan that he had served with her husband and it leaves him struggling to figure out a way to do what's right.

Overall I adored this story so much. Vickie tells her stories from multiple perspectives, a style I've always particularly enjoyed when done properly. The emotions she conveys are so strong and made me cry at parts. This is definitely a tear jerker! If you read my review of In My Dreams, you'll remember I said I don't typically cry when reading. Well Promise Cove made me eat my words yet again.

The characters really came to life for me and I loved the portrayal of Hutton. I have two young nieces and Hutton reminded me so much of them. I even was drawn in by the townspeople, even if I did want to smack some sense into them.

WHAT I DIDN'T LIKE:

There really wasn't anything I didn't like. My one issue I had was some revelations at the end. I wished they had come a little bit sooner and perhaps explored a bit more. I still feel the ending is quite strong, I just wanted more because I'm greedy like that :) Editing was great and very consistent throughout, something I always look for. All in all, the worst I can say about this book is yet again, I ran out of tissues lol.

OVERALL VERDICT: 5 Blue Duckies!!

This and all books by Vickie McKeehan are a must read!

Possible Spoiler Alert! I have read this author's work before and I have enjoyed it. With this book I just fell in love with the story and could not put this book down. We enter into the lives of Jordan and Nick. Jordan is a widow when her husband died. She is on her own and trying to make everything work, but it has been hard especially with a baby and a town not liking her for whatever reason.
Jordan and her late husband Scott had a dream to build a B&B which I think was awesome. You can just see how much Jordan wanted this dream to work. But she is going through difficulties then comes into the picture Nick! We learn why Nick is there through out the story and I think it is just amazing he is keeping his promise. But what happens between Jordan and Nick we see it coming but it is like it takes forever for the light bulb to click! My heart went out to Jordan in this story she was written as a strong woman that is always so positive it seems even when things don't look to be going her way. And so friendly even to those that are rude and hateful.
The way that Jordan portrays the scenery at the B&B is just so awesome, that I wouldn't mind going to stay there.
There was one part in the story that I got a bit teary eyed and that was toward the end where Jordan gets a surprise at her house.

Now the only reason I am giving this book a four star rating is the fact that when Nick "comes clean" as to why he is there Jordan already knew. She wanted him to open up to her which I think is awesome, but it was like they both kept running away from each other and it drove me batty. I understand why he didn't but it still bothered me a bit.

This is one book that I recommend to those that enjoy a good down to earth romance and a story line that will keep you engaged.

Mckeehan has written a novel that really seizes the spirit of romance. It takes place in such current times, that it is easy to relate to see the characters as your own peers. It is a great book about love lost and found. It's about pain and overcoming that pain. There's down moments but everything seems to turn around for each character.

The characters are greatly developed, especially Jordan, being portrayed as such a strong woman. I always enjoy reading about strong woman because it seems it makes me want to be as strong as her. Someone who always keeps their head up and does what needs to be done without complaints, is a strong woman to me. Nick was also a great character, being a real man who has a big heart. Despite all the suffering he has been put through overseas in Iraq. He is a man every woman is seeking out to find.

I enjoyed the way Vickie Mckeehan wrote the book in perspectives from each character individually. It was easier to get to know each character, and get inside their head when you saw everyone's point of view and not just one specific character. Great choice for a book like this.

This isn't normally the type of books I read, but I really did enjoy this particular book. It had so much more than just mushy romance, that I hardly saw it as one while reading it. Plus, I got so caught up in the characters, I could care less about the romance and mush, the parts I usually don't go for when picking out a book. Overall I rate this book a great 5/5.

Promise Cove (A Pelican Pointe Novel by Vickie McKeehan
I absolute adore this book. Jordan is a likeable protagonist and the sexual tension between her and Nick could light a light bulb in a power outage.
The love story that enfolds is nice and romantic and believable. This is not one of those stories where a jump in logic is what brings the two characters together. It is also not one of those where they keep the tension dragging until the reader looses interest. The author strikes a perfect balance between keeping up the tension and keeping the reader satisfied. This is not an easy thing to accomplish and I am impressed.
The plot line moves fast and keeps the reader entertained. The tension as mentioned keeps the reader turning the pages and the little girl Hutton and the dog Quake is adorable and makes for perfect innocent sidelines in the story.
The town twitch is a real bwitch and a brat and she has the couple realising that the odds that they are facing is real but she is not really in a position to make their lives truly miserable, another more sinister plot is brewing.
Nick, unable to cope with what his friend Scott believed of his home town and the town he now gets to know is way too much. This discrepancy causes Nick to stand up in church and tells off the towns people. Now this is my favourite part in the story. This guy rocked, reminding the patrons of the church of their true duty in their community. Go read it, you’ll love it.
A five romantic eye star in the eye read for sure

I received a copy of Promise Cove in exchange for a fair review.

Promise Cove is a wonderful story about Nick, an Iraqi veteran, who comes to Pelican Pointe to fulfill a promise to his fallen friend Scott. Scott left behind his wife Jordan, and their daughter, Hutton, who he had never had the chance to meet.

Jordan is trying to fulfill her own promise to Scott, to open the Bed and Breakfast in their home, as they'd been working on together before Scott was deployed.

Nick never imagined that the wonderful woman that held Scott's heart would make her way into Nick's heart and he has to fight feelings of survivor's guilt that he survived and his family man friend didn't as well as the feelings of guilt for starting to fall in love with his friend's widow. He also has to help Jordan fight her own financial woes, as she is close to losing the B&B and still has so much work to do before it's ready to open.

Vickie McKeehan did an amazing job of making me fall in love with Nick, right from the start and also with Jordan. Her strength was tested so many times by the naysayers in town who were convinced she wouldn't be able to fulfill her and Scott's dream of opening the B&B. Their story is a heartwarming story that I would recommend to anyone who's searching for a beautiful love story!

I REALLY LOVE THIS SERIES, I MUST ADMIT I DID READ THEM OUT OF ORDER. I TRULY HAVE ENJOYED ALL OF THE BOOKS I'VE READ BY THIS AUTHOR, THE EVIL TRILOGY, PELICAN POINTE SERIES AND SKYE CREE NOVELS. I ONLY HAVE THREE MORE BEFORE I FINISH THEM ALL. I LOVE VISITING "PELICAN POINTE" I FEEL AS THOUGH I HAVE REALLY SEEN THAT LITTLE TOWN FOR REAL. ALL HER CHARACTERS ARE SO WELL WRITTIN, ONCE I START READING I DON'T WANT TO PUT THE BOOK DOWN (not without a fight). JORDAN AND NICK ARE BOTH GREAT PEOPLE WHO SHOULD BE TOGETHER, BUT THAT LITTLE TOWN IT'S UNBELIEVABLE AT TIMES. I LOVE THE WAY MS. MCKEEHAN WRITES, I REALLY TOTALLY GET INTO ALL OF THEM. HER LOVE STORIES ALWAYS LEAVE ME FEELING WONDERFUL INSIDE. THANK YOU! ;>

I was given this book by the Author for an Honest review!!!

Generally I am not much for romance, I don't mind if there is a little bit of romance but never one for overly mushy love story's. That is what I liked about this one not overly mushy. After reading this I look at romance as a new genre for me.

Nick Harris has returned to L.A. after being injured while deployed in Iraq. After losing his best friend and Captain Scott Phiilips after a IED (Roadside Bomb)took Scott's life and changed Nicks forever. Nick made a promise to Scott, and now Nick needs to follow through with this. Though suffering from PTSD and the haunting memories of the day Scott died Nick needs to make a trip to Pelican Point California and Met Jordan and Hutton Scott's wife and daughter in which he has never gotten to see, hold, or touch. Scott made Nick promise he would take care of Jordan and Hutton in the event something were to happen to him.

Nick goes to see Jordan with every intention of telling her what happened until he sees her. He just does not have the heart to lay the news on her after seeing her struggles the minute he lays eyes on her. Jordan is trying to make Scott and her dream of a B&B come true, and feeling it will never happen. She has no support from the small town that Scott loved so much. More like nothing but cruel nasty towns people hoping she will do nothing
but fail. Nick is determined to help her see this dream through and come spring open the B&B and make it a success. Nick has only the intentions of helping Jordan complete this and get back to L.A. and the player life he has gone so accustom too. But his heart has other idea's.

Struggling with the haunting memories and Scott's ever looming ghost Nick needs to decide how he is going to tell Jordan that " he was with Scott the day he died. After realizing that he has fallen in love with Jordan and made it is goal to do everything in his power to make her happy and get the towns folk to accept her. He then finds that Jordan had known all along who Nick was from letters Scott send her,She too has fallen madly in love with him.

This story really grabs your heart from the beginning, and refuses to let go, even after reading the last word you can not stop thinking about it. I cried, I laughed and I cried some more. I could read this over and over again. I give this 5 pink Heart Stars, and praise Vickie McKeenen for such a truly touching story.

I was given a copy of this book for the purpose of review.

Nick Harris has enough weighing on his conscious and the last thing he needed was to get his heart mixed in. Nick made a promise to his buddy while they were fighting in Iraq, now he had to follow through. After surviving an IED attack on his unit and now suffering from PTSD, he has a lot on his mind. Arriving in Pelican Pointe, he meant to go straight to Col. Scott Phillips widow, Jordan, say what he needed to say and be back on the road by evening. Upon arrival he finds that Jordan Phillips and daughter Hutton have had a hard time since Scott's death and some of the locals aren't helping to make it any better. Now, in-light of the situation, he must decide what fulfilling his promise consists of.

Jordan Phillips, widowed young with a small daughter is trying to make her husband's dream a reality. His family home is where they wanted to open a bed and breakfast. But, when Scott was killed in Iraq and wasn't coming home, she was left to bring their dream to fruition. The house is in need of major work and the bank loan deadline is looming. Jordan can't afford to hire anyone and fears she has let Scott's memory down. The town has never accepted her, she is all alone, just she and Hutton, until Nick Harris shows up at her door.

As these two people heal from the loss of their friend and husband, they will find away to honor his memory and find that love hasn't died with him.

I enjoyed this story and felt the characters were very realistic and well rounded. The story was a wonderful look at love lost and love found. For those that like a romance but not the grit, beware, it does get a little graphic at times.

Promise Cove by Vickie Mckeehan is an absolutely wonderful novel. Mckeehan catches the essence of a romantic novel quite well in this story. This story line is so relevant today with so many of our heroes, our soldiers fighting for us and not returning back home. Mckeehan gives us just a glimpse on what happens when war strikes, a young family is separated, and a new family is formed and bonded by the tragedies of the past.

The main characters Nick and Jordan are so well developed in this novel. I was so glad that Mckeehan, made Jordan’s character a strong woman. That in its self was inspirational to me. Jordan did what she needed to do to keep her and her little girl safe and well cared for; she did not stop “living and that is the important part of this story-line. Nick with all of his guilt and pain still remained gentle toward the widow and her child; he was the epitome of a true gentleman and friend.

Mckeehan story telling through this romance novel is impeccable. The plot just flows and it was extremely hard to put this novel down. I am looking forward to reading more of her work in this series.

Promise Cove is an emotional story that has been cleverly crafted into an engaging and uplifting read. At the heart of the book lies a tale of a small family destroyed by the raging war in Iraq and a small town’s unwillingness to step up and help one of their own.

Jordan really is a smashing character, with McKeehan effortlessly portraying her simultaneously as a grieving widow with the world on her shoulders, a caring mother and an intelligent woman trying her best to emotionally move on. Jordan carries the book along with guilt-ridden Nick; the rugged but damaged male lead. Sexual tension between the two hums from the pages and the development of Nick’s character makes Promise Cove hard to put down. Certain scenes involving Nick, Jordon’s daughter Hutton and the town’s people are the book’s pulling power, adding depth and a touch of reality to a great storyline. A brilliant and rewarding read.

Even when I normally don't read romance books, this was a very welcome diversion from the fantasy and paranormal books I'm used to read.
The main person goes through a traumatic experience in his life, and ends up in a place where he normally wouldn't go, had it not been a promise he once made to a very good friend of his.
From there the story goes like you would expect it, the person gets to know a friendly and nice lady, with child, and starts to develop feelings for them.
Due to the tramatic part of his life, he doesn't want to give in to these feelings, and keeps fighting them to the end, when we get a very unexpected and sentimental ending to the book.

A book I would advice to others to read when you have a chance, standing up for your dreams is always worth it!

This book was recommended to me inside the facebook group WaAr!

Promise Cove is a novel of romance, suspense and the paranormal. My expectations are high and Vickie McKeehan does not disappoint. She starts out with the familiar, takes a twist and turn, then ends with ooey, gooey, warm fuzzies.

Drink in the gorgeousness of this awesome cover. I can see myself sitting in one of those chairs with my camera, a margarita and Hidden Moon Bay, listening to the palm fronds rustling in the wind and enjoying the wonder of the beach.

The words rolled off his tongue, "Murphy at the store said you might need help out here."

It didn't make sense. With all that Scott had, it was Nick standing here talking to Jordan. It had been Scott's family home, but his grandparents had suffered a financial hardship and lost possession of it. After Scott and Jordan were married, he bought the house. They started their married life with the thought of the B & B the house would become when the renovations were finished........................... until he was called to duty in the service of his country.

Scott's last words, "Promise me, Nick...."

Nick had thought they would be his last words.

What was the promise?

Come on in and have a seat. Let's talk about Promise Cove.

5 STARS - Would Buy It For Them (lol)

I am continually surprised when I read and love some Romance books as much as I do. I look at a book blurb like this and think - oh - girl meets boy, falls in love, they fight a little, will she lose him, and then happy ever after. I find that is not the case here. There is so much more to the story. The Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ book blurb says it will hold me breathless to the last page, how about the last sentence.

A small town. Of course I know some of what is to come. But wait. I expect Vickie to come up with something surprising and she does that flawlessly.

I keep trying to think of a way to describe Vickie McKeehan's writing. It is so smooth, the words flow like water rolling gently down the stream. I never said I was a writer. LOL

She takes romance to a level so far above the usual, that it takes a while for me to see how it will get to the happy ending. I am always trying to figure out the end of a book, from the very first page. In this instance, I don't want to know what is coming. Surprises can be very nice. ^_^

I cannot imagine war. My mind will not go there emotionally. I cannot begin to get a sense of what it would be like to know you can be shot or blown up at any second. What about the wives, keeping the home-front running, while waiting for their spouse's return? And what if they don't return?

Our service people's bravery is something to be inspired by. I would like to thank all our military people for the wonderful job they do in protecting us and our way of life.

Her characters come alive on the pages as you enter their world, hoping and wishing that all works out for them. I am usually drawn to a strong female character in the books I read. I guess because I am female and I want to walk in their shoes. This time?

I fell in love with NIck. Yep, that's right. You heard me. Read on and tell me you wouldn't.

Nick - hypervigilent - fight or flight response in soldiers returning home from war.

Had he inherited a gene that kept him from emotional attachments?

When Vickie describes Nick with Hutton it blows my mind. This is the thing that stood out most in the book for me. She describes his wonder at learning he has feelings and emotions, just becoming aware as if a baby himself. So sweet. My eyes watered at Nick's amazement of Hutton and Vickie describing his awe as Hutton would speak, drum and just do normal baby things. I couldn't put it down. How could you not fall in love with Nick yourself? Plus, he's pretty HOT.

I always like a little chuckle when I am not expecting it.

"...closest thing to a hunk....UPS man who gave her a three minute thrill..."

I loved the ending. To me a great romance ends with a little surprise and happy ever after.

There is no doubt in my mind that I will grab every book Vickie McKeehan writes, knowing she will take me from my world into hers. At the moment there are three more books in the Pelican Pointe Series and I can hardly wait to see where Hidden Moon Bay takes me.

I picked this book up on a free day at Amazon. Thank you Vickie for sharing the love.

I know I keep rambling on and on, but every time I edit the review, I think of something else I want to include. With that said, I'm going to read this ONE more time, then publish it. LOL

A Powerful Love Story

This story encompasses the drama that many survivors of deceased military men and women experience in a realistic and beautiful manner. The author manages to use dialogue and introspection to accomplish this.

Captain Scott Phillips and his best buddy, 1st Lt. Nick Harris were riding in a Humvee in Iraq when it was hit by an IED. During the months these two men were together, Scott talked constantly of his wife Jordan and baby daughter Hutton and the small town of Pelican Pointe that he loved. When hit by an IED, Scott was killed and Nick’s memory of the event was his fighting to release Scott from being entangled in the mangled vehicle, but couldn’t get him loose before it exploded, killing Scott and leaving Nick badly wounded in the chest and he almost died. Thereafter he suffered greatly from PTSD, insomnia and guilt plus the result of his injuries. Previously Scott had made Nick promise that if Scott did not survive the war, Nick would go to Pelican Pointe and do what he could to help Jordan and Hutton, revealing that Jordan was most unhappy when Scott had to leave right after they had moved to Pelican Pointe. It had been their intent and dream to remodel the old homestead on a cove of the ocean into a Bed and Breakfast, but Scott was deployed before he could really get much accomplished, leaving Jordan three months pregnant and by herself.

After Nick finally healed sufficiently, he did ride his motorcycle from southern California to Pelican Pointe and introduced himself to Jordan. He found her on the verge of foreclosure of a loan to remodel and bring the place up to code. Although she tried, she couldn’t do much of the physical work herself nor did she have the money to hire workmen. Jordan was so blasé when Nick introduced himself, that he didn’t think she knew he was Scott’s buddy and was there when Scott died, so he never could reach the point of telling her. Nick had always been a man to “love ‘em and leave ‘em. He never wanted the responsibility of a wife, marriage or children and had no idea how to deal with children, but he quickly took to Hutton and learned about babies. Although he was not experienced in construction, he did jump in and helped Jordan with the construction, paid some of her debt at the local merchants because her accounts were so delinquent and learned early that the town was not friendly like Scott had pictured it and except for a couple of older merchants, shunned Jordan. Jordan had been a very lonely women during those two years and Nick walked in at the right time.

The story continues with the physical struggles Nick and Jordan have bringing the old Victorian house up to par; the emotional struggles of a widow caught in her past with her deceased husband and her emotional needs of the present; the emotional and physical battles Nick suffers out of loyalty to Scott and his growing attachment to Jordan and Hutton. I cried while reading some of those scenes, which would also affect any widows or even loved ones who wait each day, dreading word of the loss of a military loved one. I lived this story. It was a page turner for me, although not because of the usual page turner action stories, but the drama of love, desire, and guilt attendant in this tale. I highly recommend it for anyone who loves a good, realistic romance.

It deserves more than five stars. This was on my kindle for awhile, I'm so glad I choose this to read .Mrs. McKeehan writes of captain Scott Philips talking non stop to Lieutenant Nick Harris about his wife Jordan and baby Hutton and their Victorian house they are restoring to be a bed and breakfast. They are in Baghdad riding in a humvee after Scott gets called to duty. Nick doesn't know how Scott can be so happy living that life style, but he listens because Scott is his buddy. Their brigade gets hit and Scott dies and Nick almost dies. Nick is being haunted by Scott to go to Jordan and Hutton and take care of them, to see if everything is ok with them. Nick can't bring himself to do this because he thinks it's his fault that he didn't save Scott . He made a promise to Scott that he'd check up on his Jordan and Hutton. He had no idea he would have to do it for real. Nick was a ladies man in LA where he lived, in no way can he see himself doing what Scott asked. He keeps having bad dreams and night sweats, he just can't get settled into civilian life. He gets on his Harley and drives. Will Nick keep his word and check up on Jordan, or just keep riding to try and find himself again. Download this awesome book and find out. There's so much more you need to know, go hit that button. It had my emotions all over the place.

A true tear-jerking, heartwarming love story
Vickie Mckeehan made the characters come to life, you felt their tears, their heart break, their healing, their love in this old fashion Romance Novel. I"m going to cotinue with Deeper Evil also by Vickie Mckeehan. I can't wait to get started. Could there possibly be a sequal to Promise Cove? I hope so.

Jordan and Scott decided to follow his dream of opening up a bed and breakfast. Little did they know Scott would be killing in Iraq before his dreams were fulfilled. Nick who was in the Army with Scott checks in on the widow. Little does he know he will help achieve Scott's goal and fall in love with his widow at the same time. I loved this book! Have tissues handy!! WaAR

I enjoyed Promise Cove. The steaminess was light. The story was touching and heartfelt. I would have enjoyed more development of their relationship. I wish the epilogue had a little more insight into their future to give me a completed HEA, but it is part of a series, so maybe I'll learn more in future books.

I will check out the next book in this series.

I picked this book up to try it, on a Kindle offer, and I really enjoyed it. I found it well written, and as someone else commented, well edited too. A good balance of emotion and action and strong main characters who are touching.

4* is a very good score for me. I keep 5* for Pride and Prejudice ;)

I have now read the other two books in this series and am waiting for the next one...

For me this book was great. Being a army mom I struggle seeing my son being deployed and in the military. I have seen or heard many people who deal with ptsd. survivor guilt and many struggles that soldiers have. But saying that he shows how people can fall in love and find love where they dont expect it. A promise to someone can lead to so much more. The joys of small towns and all the ins and out of that and also jealousy that people have and the lengths that people would do. This is a great book to read. I would recommend it

A very enjoyable read. A nice romance, a touch of tension, a bit of humor, a pleasant setting, and a couple of antagonists. A returning Iraq vet with PTSD and a lonely serviceman's widow find a new life with each other and help heal each other's wounds. The characters draw you in and the descriptive writing allows you to enjoy the picturesque setting. A good combination for a light quick read. All the loose ends were neatly wrapped up in the end with an uplifting message.
