Mantsk
My world is gone.

Everyone on Arythios killed, our planet left uninhabitable. Destroyed by an unknown enemy while I was away on maneuvers with a small fleet of starships. We’re all that’s left an elite team of warriors adrift in space with no home, no hope. And no females of our race left alive.
We begged the Interstellar Federation for help, but all they sent us were a handful of females from a primitive planet called Earth. “To see to the needs of your troops, their leader said.
I swallowed my pride and accepted. With no Arythian females, we needed breeders. Though they were small and pale, the aliens would have to do. So I picked one out and started teaching her our ways.
She’s stubborn and full of fire, but she’s awakened a dark hunger in me. I had no idea I’d have to dole out so many punishments to train her properly or how much I’d enjoy the task.

Jess
My world is gone.
I’ve never been so scared.

I volunteered for a diplomatic mission to the beautiful world of Arythios. But the Federation lied to me. The planet doesn’t exist anymore. Instead I woke up on an alien starship, surrounded by huge gray-skinned warriors who think I’m their new sex toy.
I’m adrift in space with no home, no hope. Their arrogant captain says I have to call him Master and obey him. When I don’t, he punishes me.
And the scariest thing of all is I’m starting to like it.

This novella follows a lot of the Earth-girl taken by aliens tropes, with some subtle improvements and some zesty sex scenes. For me it needed to be longer, or perhaps the full story arc is covered throughout the series. I would be disappointed if each story is very similar.

Okay premise -- human woman traded to aliens to avoid a war. But it was thin on plot, thin on character development, and leaped to the HEA with little foundation.

I also got this book with KU.

This short book is very similar in the beginning to Ravished, also by this Author. Don't read if explicit adult scenes offend you.
The novella is well written but short, only taking about an hour to read.

While this was a quick read, it was really good and
the two main characters, Captain Mantsk and Jess
give us all the info we need to complete the story.
Jess was sent on what she thought was a diplomatic mission, instead she was sent to a ship in space to become a sex slave and breeder for the Arythians that are all males, the only survivors of their race.
Mantsk chooses Jess and proceeds to train her in their ways and breed her to help save his people from extinction. Although Jess was scared, mad and resistant to Mantsk, he has his ways of getting her to cooperate, gladly. I loved how understanding Mantsk was once he realized how confused and upset Jess was, and Jess finally started warming up to Mantsk too. I am looking forward to more Centauri Captives,

I'm sorry, but I was so bored. The characters were one-dimensional and dull, as was the plot. I literally have nothing else to say about this book.

That was a cute story, a bit short and therefore maybe a bit thin and unnecessarily superficial and rushed towards the end. More depth and emotion would have helped the understanding and the connection. It would have been more comprehensible.

All in all interesting and thrilling with nice toys and wonderful characters - a good entertainment with expansion potential.

A well written and entertaining read - a solid 4 stars on Amazon

His Captive Human is a darker offering in the 'alien captive' genre. The writing was very engaging, making this an easy to read and enjoy story. There is some good initial world building, I say initial because I got the impression we will learn more and more as the series progresses. Personally I liked this, there was enough information for me to both enjoy the story and to connect with the characters.

This is a very short novella, it took me less than an hour to read it, and therein lies the only issue I had with what was otherwise a fun and red hot read. Whilst the story had plenty of depth, it's brevity left it feeling underdeveloped. Whilst we had some wonderfully steamy sex scenes, at no time did I get a sense of any connection or feelings between Mansk and Jess.

The story was building really nicely but, for me, the ending was just too rushed. It was a little too tell and not enough show. I personally needed another 4 or 5 chapters of Mansk and Jess together in non sexual situations, seeing them interact and build that relationship. However it may well just be me - I do struggle with short stories and novellas for this very reason!

I loved that the grey colour of the Centauri's skin was based on their emotion state. Whilst the whole 'alien planet wiped out and only males left' scenario is more than a little cliched I did like the twist of how the human females had been conned and lied too, that was quite a nice twist.

I'm looking forward to reading more books from the series and can't wait to find out more about the Centauri as a species. I''m also hoping we get some justice for how the women were treated by those Earth officials! We need to know who attacked Arythios, whether there is another world for the Centauri to live on and if the women betrayed by Earth will find happiness.

Recommended to those who love a hot and sexy alien captive romance and don't mind a darker edge to their story.

This is a very short story only a few hours. It is actually like a prequel to this series. The series describes itself as a dark science fiction romance. Dark is non consensual sex here with sexual slavery involved. Science fiction in this case is, particularly as you get into book 2, very much similar to a space opera. And, yes, romance is in the story too as the non con relationship evolves to a happy ending.

What is slightly different about the non con sex is that it is somewhat forced from both sides. The male aliens are the lone survivors of an entire species when their planet is destroyed while they are in space on missions. They have recently not only lost their planet but all the females, their own mates and families, their base, all life on the planet has been destroyed. Enhancing the darkness of this scenario is that it was already a male dominated species with submissive females, subordinate to their mates in all things on Arythios.

This is a very sexy, hot tale that includes some BDSM, spanking, D/s and unusual phallic appendages. The storyline is breeding to keep the species from going extinct, searching for mates and a new home, and defeating the enemy that wiped out their planet.

This first brief tale goes from one sex scene to another. They are well written and make sense with the major theme of the storyline being reproduction. This book is an attention grabber and also primes the reader into acceptance of the abductive, dubious consensual relationships that occur.

I have read some prior books from both authors and enjoyed this one, also. I'm into book 2, Ravished already.

His Captive Human is the first book in the Centauri Captives series. Jess was told she was going on a diplomatic mission, but is shocked when she wakes up to find herself a sex slave to the captain of the starship. Mantsk planet is gone, no more females or young, and he’s relying on the females that Earth sent to help breed the future of his kind. But Jess will not be easy to tame. Will Mantsk be able to balance the needs of his people with the needs of Jess, or will they be incompatible in more than one way?

Wow, what a way to start off a new series. Ms. Dane and Ms. Richards created an amazing world full of finding hope, figuring out who you are, and used their wicked imagination for a new alien race. Mantsk and Jess definitely have some hiccups they need to overcome before they can find their happiness, but I loved seeing both of their vulnerable sides, I loved watching their connection grow. Mantsk has the world of his people resting on his shoulders, literally, so it was nice to see him balancing duty with pleasure, his needs against his people’s, and I liked that he had the strength to go against Jess, but give her the tenderness she needed, too. Jess is strong and brave and so confused. I thought it was well written to watch her go from being such a fighter to submitting and finding that happiness together. This book was short and fast paced, and I look forward to seeing where this series will lead and how the next book will play out!

These two talent authors have created a complex, dark Sci-Fi alien romance novella & this is the first book in the series “Centauri Captives It has a well-paced, descriptive plot filled with unexpected occurrences & some splendid scene descriptions. The characters are unique with complex personalities, some of the characters displayed defiance & struggle with acceptance in a new & unfamiliar world, while other characters display determination combined with some deviousness to get their goals.
It is about: a feisty human female (together with other human females) was under the impression that she is being sent on a diplomatic mission but discovers upon waking up that she is to became a sex-slave & breeder to the Captain (Jess), a Arythios Captain requests help from the Interstellar Federation when his planet was destroyed by unknown enemy only to receive some human females & he decides to pick Jess (Captain Mantsk)
There is: twists & turns, intrigue, suspense, deceit, betrayal, memories, anger, disorientation, confusion, fear, threats, punishment, spanking, forced non-consensual intimately, manipulations, sexual torture, defiance, attempted escape, realization, compromises, acceptance & a satisfying conclusion. I really enjoyed reading this Sci-fi alien romance & would recommend it.

All the people from Arythios are gone. Only those that are on Captain Mantsk startship survive. They now have to find a way to live, a new planet, new bred. Jess was sent as a diplomat to Arythios, well she thought she was. Earth sent over females but not for diplomatic purposes but as slaves. When all is settled, will things get better or worse for them both?

I was shocked when they sent over the women as slaves for breeding. I can understand the shock and anger that Jess has. Mantsk didn’t help. He was cold and angry. He wasn’t understanding and cared very little about Jess. I felt upset. It took them finally talking and getting to understand the other to settle things. Jess held out a bit but I thought she would fight more. And what was it with Mantsk “member. I was totally surprised and mean 5 and how did that work? We will have to explore the species in future books, I hope. The snippet into the next book, “Ravished looks good.

Alien abduction with a twist

This is a new series from these two authors. This first short story lays the groundwork. Arythia has been totally destroyed and the only Arythians left are those warriors who were off world on manoeuvres. Their entire population has been destroyed men, women children and all life and all done by an u known enemy. When the warriors request assistance from Federation of Planets they are refused, they are also refused safe-harbour on Earth, instead they are sent a handful of ‘Sex slaves to keep the warriors warm. The women who are sent however have been told they are going on a diplomatic mission to a beautiful planet. What will happen when they wake up from their transport to find they are now subject to their ‘masters and expected to bear children and become mates. This has the makings of a good series and I look forward to the following episodes with interest.

This is not a author I've read before but the book description appealed to me.
It was quite a short book to read, I was a little disappointed with how short. Fairly enjoyable, light easy to read with some steamy scenes. The storyline is interesting and with more depth could have been much better. The main male character, Mantsk, I felt could have been more sympathetic towards the situation Jess found herself in, instead of essentially just carrying on as though he hadn't just discovered Jess hadn't agreed to what he thought she had. The book wasn't really long enough for the development of any kind of emotions/romance between the characters, depth within the characters, or storyline development. There are follow on books with other characters, so maybe the background storyline will develop more over those books.

This is a short story about human females being betrayed by their government and sent to an alien ship. The aliens have recently lost their planet and all their females. This results in aliens and humans not understanding each other as they have each been told something different, and then there is the translation issue. There is some chemistry between the 2 main characters as they learn more about each other. The human female has no rights at all so if this is an issue for you then you won’t like this story. It’s a well written story with an interesting plot. The alien main character comes over as being unpleasant for most of the book. This is my first time reading this author and I’d consider reading more from her in the future.

I liked this book. But I think it might have been better suited if it had been a bit longer. A lot of things were just kind of left up in the air with no real clear ending. Like she just decided to stay with this guy that had no real feelings for her and possibly never would because she had nobody on earth that would miss her? Really? That is how your going to leave that? Also what and how was she changing? It kept being mentioned in the book that after they mated she was changing but was not explained how or why she was changing... I found that kind of confusing. All that being said and some problems that I had with the story that I didn't go into.. I am willing to give the next book a chance and see how that one turns out and hope for the best, because I did like it.. I just hope that I will enjoy the next one more.

His Captive Human is Book 1 in the Centauri Captives series. As a series starter, these sometimes tend to be a bit shorter. I admit I did look ahead to see if the other books in the series are longer, and they are... a bit.

What I liked about the book: The story premise is such a great start and grabs your attention right away. I also liked the characters, especially Jess, as they navigate their way through the story. And, of course, all the lovely steamy bits. As a woman, I want some of that goo!

What I disliked about the book:
The book left unanswered questions, or it just sort of jumped from Jess falling in love with Mantsk to an epilogue to attempt to tie things up for us. This cost the book a star in my rating. I plan to read another book in the series to see if this changes, and we have a more complete story.

Just want to start off with a warning that may turn some people off if they don't know ahead time, this is a darker story. There are elements of non-consent. Please don't read the book if that bothers you. However, I will say there is a HEA of sorts. Jess finds herself on an alien spaceship and thinks that she has been kidnapped by aliens. What she doesn't know is that Earth officials have turned over an entire group of women to become essentially breeders to an alien race. While Mansk thinks that she is a volunteer and not there unwillingly.
This was a very quick read, under an hour. However, if this first book of the series is anything to go by, I am definitely looking forward to more!

This was a super short and fast paced story. I will warn you their element of non consensual sex in this story so if that not your cup of tea I would recommend that you don't one click this read. The story is described as a "Dark Sci-Fi Romance." I took that into consideration so the consent part didn't phrase me. But beside that we get introduced to a world of alien who suffering the effects of losing their home world and female. They risk going extinct if they not find females to breed with. Everything did move at a fast-paced in story but I liked the feistiness of our female heroine Jess Captain Mantsk was very alpha so it made for a enjoyable and entertaining read. Look forward to seeing what else is in store for this series.

Very fast paced read. Jess is betrayed by her government on Earth. She got framed for something she didn't do. Jess is sent to a ship with all who are left from the planet Arythios. Earth wouldn't give the Arythios sanctuary but sent females who thought they were diplomats to the Arythios. They were really sent for breeding. Captain Mantsk and his crew survived the destruction of their planet and he was the first Arythios to pick his mate. He was cold and angry and didn't care how upset Jess was about her situation. She would obey him and do as he said or be punished. This is the first book in the series. I have read a few other books by Kallista Dane and this book didn't disappoint.

UGH! Right, when it was getting good it was over! NO!!!!! NO!

A world brought to ruin, everything and everyone destroyed. Only an airship of males remain. They must repopulate and fast. With no home to go to they reach out to the Federation, who doesn't allow them to land on their planet, but will send them Earthlings to breed with. Marstk selects his woman first, a feisty redhead with some serious curves - Jess. Together they will breed and help repopulate their species. Only she isn't so willing and doesn't understand why the Federation sold her out as they did. It doesn't make sense. And why is this Captain so intent on breeding?

This is a quickie. Lunchtime break to release the stress of the day.

The first book in a new series has Mantsk a starship Captian accepting a group of Earth woman given to him as slaves. To repopulate his race after an attack killed all that were on his home planet, he has decided to use them for breeding purposes. On a diplomatic misson to the planet Jess awakens after being teleported to Arythios she is horrified to find herself laying on a cold metal slab, alone, in the dark, unable to moved, and naked. Worse she finds out that she was lied to by and instead of the mission she thought she was on she had been fiven to the man who wanted her to have his babbies and make her call him master. There was no cheating and no cliffhanger.

Mantsk has lost everything, his family, his home, and even his planet. What's a guy to do but ask for help. Even that's denied but the one thing he does get is a slave and her name is Jess. The problem here is Jess doesn't realize she's a slave until she wakes up to the hot command of his voice. What ensues is her telling him where to put his ship, him giving her a peice of his mind and his hard hand on her bottom. Then it gets down to the nitty gritty with these two and they just about burn down the ship. But let me tell you there is a huge surprise to this meet and greet and it is well worth finding out what it is. Trust me on that !! Great job ladies. Well done for your "Captives" #1.

"His Human Captive" is the first in Kallista Dane's "Centauri Captives" series. The setup is the same as others of this genre: large alpha alien warriors need human females to mate with and continue on their species. This first volume has the leader of the Centauri, Mantsk, taking as his unwilling human mate Jess.

As in all the best of these tales, Jess gets spanked a few times and it's hot as hell.

The only slight complaint for me here is this entry is a little short. Even with the standardized setup I enjoyed this read immensely, and I'd certainly be willing to read more entries in the "Centauri Captives" universe.

Bite sized reading

I had the luxury of reading both His Captive Human and the sequel Ravished back to back.

This first novel is short, but sets up a what will be a great series. The second novel is longer but still something that can be read in 90 minutes.

At last aliens and humans who, like all good sci-fi romance novels and films, can speak and understand each other with embedded translators, misinterpreted figures of speech. Brilliant! Loved the flashes of humour

Both books very readable and I will look out for the next in the series!

Interesting sci-fi romance and a great start to their new series

>>> Reeling from the devastating loss of his home planet of Centauri, Captain Mantsk returns from his mission to discover to his horror that all that is left of his world is the all-male crew on his ship. As such, females from Earth were given to them to help propagate their species. One captive, Jess, quickly catches Mantsk’s eye and as he has first pick from the women, Jess was chosen to be his. Somehow, though, this little human gets under this stern captain’s grey skin and little by little, while he hunts for those who destroyed his world.

When a disaster happens, the first instinct is survival. But what if that means doing the unthinkable? When a relationship turns bad, the first instinct is to run. But what if that means going further than you thought? For Mansk and for Jess, circumstances are not ideal. Can they meet in the middle with the demands that are placed on them? Will Jess accept that her life has turned completely into a new direction? Will Mansk realize that life means more than just sterility and rules? Sexy, not always consensual, but most entertaining.

Betrayed...
Mansk, and his all male crew are all that’s left of the population of Planet Arythios. Their planet was invaded and destroyed in their absence. When they seek assistance and asylum from the federation they are instead given female slaves to impregnate from Earth. Unfortunately, no one told the Earth women. They woke up finding they had been betrayed by Earth. Jess, who thought she was on her way to Arythios as an ambassador, is claimed by Commander Mansk who is determined to properly train her for his use.

SciFi at it´s best I must say. There are a few authors that I have read stories from who have this same kind of unbelievable imagination. This story is clearly the first in a new series and honestly, this story was too short and I cannot wait for the next one. I really enjoyed reading this story and felt a whole range of all different kinds of emotions and feelings while reading it. It is simply storytelling at its best.
