Her only hope for survival is to find her own roots... The Collapse is imminent, and Rosie’s stuck in the present day where she will be swept away by an apocalyptic ice melt. Since Carlos is by her side, she’s not panicking…yet. Instead, she focuses on finding the teenage girl in Seattle who will become her grandmother.
Rosie’s teenage grandmother is wealthy, privileged, and might have the means to help them travel back home to the future. But finding her grandmother isn’t easy, especially since Carlos thinks they’re being followed.
With a murderous stalker pursuing her in the now, and a traitor manipulating events from the future, Rosie’s timeline is burning at both ends. When the fuse runs out, will the resulting explosion rock the foundation of her society—or obliterate it?
Penelope Wright spent a quarter of her life on the east coast and the rest in Washington state. She worked her way through college in restaurants, hospitals, factories, and everything in between, finally graduating summa cum laude from the University of Washington after an absurdly long time. She loves both traditions and new experiences, and will try anything once, except skydiving, which is a hard no. She lives north of Seattle with her husband and two amazing teenagers.
The previous two book have been good. Despite my dislike generally for time travel I’ve found myself strangely hooked.
But this book I found disappointing. It seemed over long and I know David is trying to find Rosie. But seriously take a breath and think before you just jump about.
This book annoyed me. It didn’t really go anywhere. It only gave me the answers I’d worked out after the previous book.
But it’s straight onto the penultimate one for me now.
This is a fun time travel series, but what you think is happening from book 1 IS happening, that mystery? Yeah, the answer is obvious, though it’s led to salt and there are still plenty of questions to answer.
The entire series is well done. Doing any kind of time travel book is hard because you have to think about how what is done in the past affects the present. You have to really think about all the little changes too. This author did really well at that. I caught a few things but given the difficulty of this feat, it didn’t bother me at all. If you like time travel and world catastrophe, i think you would like this series.
And the drama continues... The series has sucked me in. It is good escapist reading. The plot moves along and to have to stay on your toes to follow the plot lines. The big reveal at the end of this book was one I saw coming very early on, probably in book one. It’s still worth reading. I am sure there will be some commentary about fate vs free will. But now onto the next book in the series.
Once again it is hard to review without giving anything away. There is a big reveal in this one, a few actually. The timelines get more complicated. Rosie and Carlos get closer. On to the next book!
Again classic sci-fi time travel feel with a bit of YA sprinkled around.
Halfway through the series the main character figures out what you’ve probably known since book 1 - but it’s not disappointing.... there’s still plenty of story to tell.
There are hints to a big twist that will make the next book very interesting to read! There for a minute, i got lost in all the time travel but it all added up at the end.
