Mom, wife, fur baby mom. Various and assorted jobs and volunteer jobs = Me.
I am the person that goes into the grocery store leaving with a cartload of stuff but missing the one item they came in for. I am that person that frequently loses their coffee mug somewhere around the house. (Yes, I reheat it a lot). Yes, I am the absent-minded professor. A science prof, that's me.

My problem...I am interested in everything! Different people, different cultures, different places, different fields of knowledge fascinate me.

My mind is constantly saying--What if?

I have innumerable worlds and characters floating around in my head and I can't wait to share them with you! I have always loved the paranormal, fantasy and sci-fi genres in movies and books. So, naturally, that is what I write hot, steamy novels with shapeshifters or with aliens beaming down to Earth (hint, hint--coming soon)

And, of course, always with a happy ending!

Cause life's too short to be unhappy for long. )

Read it & Reap!

Fierce Alpha was uhh interesting. In it, you will meet Magnus, Trac, and Primrose. You will also meet some other characters within Magnus's clan or some members in other clans. It was interesting on how Magnus, Trac, and Rimie met.

She is in charge of a dating website that helps you find your mate. Magnus and Trac are shifters trying to find theirs. Low and behold, she is theirs and she just happens to be human. A lot of stuff happens in this book - betrayal, romance, and action.

This book was just something to read. Thankfully it was short, but the romance was rubbing me in a weird way. Like, yes, I get it they are all three mates. Yet, Rimie just couldn't believe that they even liked her one bit. It was definitely starting to get annoying and I just wanted her to believe in it once.

Then there's the actual smut going on between them and ugh, I just wasn't fully into it. Some parts were good and others just made me cringe. I definitely wanted to like it more than I actually did. Maybe the next book will be better? I'm also intrigued by Ravyn and I want to know more about her and her potential mate?

DNF @ 42%

Look I tried, I really did. I was interested in the plot and the whole app thing -- if you are two, let me suggest you not read this one, because the majority of this book is about the relationship between the three of them. Specifically, it is about Trac and Magnus wanting to have sex with Rimie and be with her forever without trying to woo or date her or even explain what is going on. Lots of pining, lots of confusion on Rimie's part. I keep wondering why they don't explain things or try to get her to see they care for her outside of the bedroom and as people and it wasn't happening! Okay, hold on-- I think they were finally going on an outing when I quit, but there were other things going on and by then I didn't care any more.

There were a few hypocritical moments I couldn't get over. I think my snapping point was them claiming chimera's rarely stand on formalities. I just... my jaw dropped. Then again maybe not everyone considers traditions to be formalities, but when you open your book with a couple having sex in front of a bonfire, in front of their clan to form a mating as this is tradition, I have a hard time accepting the "chimeras are rarely formal" bs.

Okay, I think I'm ranting at this point and I'm sorry. I was just so excited about the app thing (look I'm not gonna get into my irritation over anything brought up about around the app and kidnappings) and that isn't what I got. I was just so.... sad.

So, if you're looking for dominant male/shifter romance you SHOULD give this a try. There is some action too that will shake things up for you. This isn't a terrible book if you know what you're getting into.

A wild sexy ride

If you're not interested in wild freedoms don't read this book. The story is stuffed with wild sex and intrigue. Sara Clark's writing is descriptive and superb showing her readers through words this world she has created.

I made my best attempt at reading this after generously receiving a copy from a Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ giveaway, but ultimately this was one that I couldn't finish. I stopped roughly 63% through the book because I found myself getting too frustrated to truly enjoy it. Although the actual plotline was good - I really love the idea of two alpha males fighting to keep the woman they love safe - I just couldn't get into the writing.

Fierce Alpha centers around three main characters, Alpha and Beta shifters Magnus and Tacker/Trac (respectively) and their human mate, Rimie. When Rimie is threatened by mysterious strangers who seem to be targeting her because of her semi-successful dating website, Magnus and Trac step in to save the day. They whisk her away to their super secret shifter haven, intent on wooing her and convincing her that she belongs with them.

Like I said, I didn't really have all that many issues with the overall plot except that there seemed to be a greater focus on trying to sleep with Rimie than trying to convince her that she should spend the rest of her life with two dominant males looking over her shoulder. What did trip me up was the writing. I wasn't a big fan of the use of '?!?' or '?!' or similar combinations. It's understandable to use it once or twice in a book, but it felt like barely a paragraph went by without it being used. Exclamation marks in general were also overused, in my opinion. There were a lot. Words were also elongated (i.e., okaaaaayyyyy, hmmmmmmm, etc.), which quickly became annoying and would have provided a better opportunity for just a better description of how the word was being said.

More than just that, there was a lot of repetition of certain things. For example, there are a lot of passages in Fierce Alpha that talk about Magnus' and/or Trac's eyes. They also call Rimie "kitten" in almost every sentence at one point in the book and use the euphemism "front/back door" in place of Rimie's . . . intimate areas.

Ultimately, the premise of the book was good, but not good enough for me to get over those pesky grammar/stylistic writing choices.

Some positives: I loved the concept of chimera rather than just calling everyone a shifter. The closing of the book was truly my favorite section out of all. I wish the development I saw in the last chapters happened in the beginning as well and expanded from there. The plot seemed to really develop to a point of finally drawing me in and investing myself into the story. However, I do understand that this is only the first book. There were golden threads of humor that I would find myself genuinely chuckling at. Steamy scene were out of this world.

Initially, the book was hard to get into as the perspectives would continiusly change between third person, Magnus, and Trac within a chapter. It's as if there was difficulty choosing whose thought or point of view would be beneficial at the time.

I also found that it was difficult to stay focused on the material as I would get distracted from seeing "?!" or "?!?!" after some exclamations, as well as a some other stylistic grammar choices. Elongated words and sounds came to be extreeeeemly annoooooying. Alternating between Trac and Tracker throughout the book stood out as well as the brief nickname of Goliath for Magnus. Some of the sexual jokes were too crude and elementary for my liking.

It was rather difficult to get attached to any of the main characters as they felt immature and surface level. Interestingly enough, character development seemed to pick up in the last 70 or so pages.

Scenes were disjointed for me as I would have liked to see clearer transitions between points. The storyline was a bit lost in disjointed sections. I'd wish there'd been a bit more information or preface to key plot additions. I wish there was more to pull me into the plot in the beginning chapters.

Overall, I believe a little more refinement would make this storyline a greater find.

Primrose aka Rimie is a computer programmer working on a dating website. Marcus it the Alpha and Trac is the Beta of a Chimera clan. Rimie and her friend, Ye, are working to change the website and Marcus and Trac want to keep it the same. When they go to investigate what is happening since the program has been successfully matched mates, they are surprised to find Rimie in danger and are hit with the realization she is their mate.

I loved the characters in this book and the way the story played out. Rimie was a strong female character much to the dismay at times of Marcus and Rimie. They weren't sure what to do with a tough female. There are a few twists in the story and quite a HEA.

I have rated it 3.5 stars simply because I liked Magnus and Tracker and the other clan members. Rimie really irritated me with not believing them but she quickly allowed them to make her into their Kate with no true qualms. He'll she became apart of a three some without knowing which side of the fight they were on. The sex scenes are very realistic and I still can't believe she managed. But the issue wasn't resolved in anyway. We still don't know what is happening (I guess this is a cliffhanger). I'm glad to know that Ms. Spark's kept improving on the series.

Chimaera world

This is a new alternate paranormal earth. It was nicely fleshed out. I loved the relationship between Rimie, Magnus and Trac. It flowed naturally. Though sometime the guys were a bit childish. The suspense about who is chasing them made the story very exciting. I am ready to read the next book in the series.

Very well written. Sara is one of those writers that has a flow and makes reading easy. There was a lot of steamy scenes for us to enjoy, along with a new take on the shifter world. I am waiting impatiently for book #2 in this series.

3.5 stars. I'm not into ménage à trois so the Alpha Magnus and his Beta Tracker falling for computer programmer and in danger Rimie was an uncomfortable arrangement for me. But if you want a different spin on a shapeshifter romance and you don't mind some sharing, this may be the book for you. The chauvinism and dominance were off the charts and this irritated me some too. But despite all these things, I liked the story and the characters, though I did mutter about several stupid decisions.

I look forward to reading the next book.

With-reservations:
sexual innuendos and situations, language, violence, murder and death, betrayal
