This short novel is a lovely sweet romance featuring a young man whose grandmother leaves him an inheritance provided he travels to Italy and then enrols in an art school. Edwards grandmother was very wise in making that stipulation because she could see that Edward was drifting, working in a construction job that he didn't really enjoy. She also knew he loved art but gave it up when his estranged father told him he wasn't any good at it. In Italy Edward not only renews his love of art, he finds family and falls in love.
While the plot was somewhat predictable and the characters could have been deeper, I did like Edward very much and found the story engaging with it's Italian backgorund and it made for a quick, pleasant read.

Finding Edward is a novella in the Save Me series by American author, Suzanne McKenna Link. Having lived with his brother for many years, at twenty-six, Edward Rudack is going to become his boss, Toby Faye’s tenant. His recently deceased grandmother, Anita Davies was the only family member who truly understood his love of art, and the conditions of her will hope to foster this.
Anita has left a cash bequest, which Eddie fully intends to invest in Toby’s home renovation business, but there is a condition to be met. Eddie learns he must go to Positano, Italy, to search for his father. His mother’s bequest condition had dropped a bombshell on Eddie: she revealed he was not the son of Tom Rudack; Eddie has an Italian father, Giovanni Lo Duca.
Eddie’s Italian fortnight doesn’t begin well: a pickpocket, a mishap with his accommodation and an insult from a beautiful Italian woman make his want to turn around and go home. But then he saves a life, becomes a hero, meets an iconic artist, and falls in love.
If the plot of McKenna Link’s little tale seems a little predictable, this does nothing to diminish the enjoyment of the read. Her characters are appealing, and she easily evokes the setting with her descriptive prose. She renders the myriad of emotions beautifully, and manages to include the odd twist and surprise. You can read this book can as a standalone. It has a separate lead character, a friend from the lead couple in the first two books. It is a book about Edward and his self-discovery. After learning about a family secret that his mother kept from him, he goes on a journey to beautiful Positano, Italy to find answers. In a charming Italian town, he will find even more than he has bargained for. At one point I couldn't stop reading it, because I needed to know what will happen.
This book is the perfect read for a time like these when our travel is restricted. So even in a book, we can visit the Amalfi coast.
Things to point out;
* amazing & skilled way the author used foreign language; correct and felt very natural and a great part of the storyline
* there a couple of instances where we have kids involved, and they were written very well too
Overall, a quick & enjoyable read. I liked it.
Readers who can find a better connection with the characters will even love this book.
Our narrator is our hero Edward, and he is definitely a character that you root for.

The release of this book was such a happy surprise to me. I loved the first 2 books in this series so I was anxious to read this. That said, this is a very different as Edward is a very different character. I really enjoyed getting to know him, seeing him blossom on his trek to Italy and finding himself, his passion for art returned, and the love of his life. Definitely felt like a "virtual" vacation as he traveled the Amalfi coast (one of my bucket list places) in search of his father. 4 Stars and recommendation!

Finding Edward is a contemporary romance, although it is the third book in this series it easily reads as a stand-alone.
Eddie’s grandmother recently died and left the contents of her estate to be divided three ways; Eddie, his mum and his brother. Each of them also received a personal letter with a last wish for them to fulfil. Growing up was hard, money was tight and school was a challenge. Eddie’s first love was art, but it was only his grandmother who encouraged him to follow his dreams.
Her letter to Eddie involved a long-kept secret which his mother was left to reveal; the man he thought of as his father was not his biological parent. Eddie’s grandmother sets him two tasks; go to Positano, Italy to search for his father, and use his inheritance to enrol in art college. For years. Eddie had put aside his love of art and taken a more conventional job, and he’d never strayed far from home; a trip to Italy would test his comfort zone to its limits.
The ups and downs of Eddie’s search for his father were believable as was the romantic theme, but it was the author’s creation of vibrant characters and beautiful Italian settings which made this book come alive. They took me right to the Amalfi coast and I could almost taste the coffee, hear the
Italian spoken and see the amazing landscapes. The Italians insisted on calling him Edward or Eduardo and the name artistically fitted the story as it progressed. I loved how Edward’s love of art was reignited and how helpful and welcoming the people of Positano were. It made me want to pack
my bags and book my own holiday. If you want a piece of escapism reading in an idyllic setting, then I can highly recommend this book.

A short but pleasant read. I liked Edward as a character, although at times felt he was maybe a little too perfect; okay he lacked a little confidence briefly in his talents and for awhile didn't know what to do with his life, but personality-wise he was extremely nice, polite, gentlemanly, talented, kind, romantic, sensitive. To be honest, he had no negative traits which to me can come across as as little unrealistic. But for a quick, sweet Romance read I suppose his almost-perfection suited the theme of the book and you can't really ask for much more. In general the characterisation throughout Finding Edward suited me well; all characters had their own personalities and traits. If you're looking for a no-fuss, sweet and unproblematic romance novel then I'd recommend this book.

When I read in the blurb that this book (mostly) takes place in Italy, I was hooked. Just like one of the characters in the novel, I consider "Firenze," Florence, one of my favorite cities, "the most magical city in the world." I was entranced by the wonderful descriptions of Italy - the setting, the food, and the people. This novel contains both a romance and a mystery, as well as a journey of self-discovery. I highly recommend to aficionados of all things Italian and those looking for a good "coming of age" story.

I loved this story. Taking a heartfelt and emotional journey, Edward Rudack leaves Long Island to search for a father he never knew he had � in beautiful Italy. The scenic descriptions, the colorful characters, the romantic love story, and the heart-wrenching quest to find a man who might not want to be found, made for the perfect read.

An enjoyable and quick read, one I didn't want to put down. A young man travels to Italy to find his father, falls in love and finds his passion. Ms. Link vividly describes the Italian culture and country side, while weaving a tale of mystery and love, with a few unforeseen twists. Edward's adventures in Positano had me longing for beautiful Italy. Bravo to Suzanne McKenna Link!

wasn't a request from his Grandmother, Eddie would never have learned the
truth of who he is � the son of an Italian man, Giovanni Lo Duco. This was
the secret his mother had kept from him for 26 years, the secret that his
Grandmother's final letter, forced into the light. So Eddie got on the
plane and went to Italy to find a man who doesn't know he exists.
My opinions:
In the first 50 pages of this book I both laughed and cried. Edward has an
artist's heart � he is gentle and sensitive and wants much more than his
life is currently giving him. While the story was somewhat predictable and
the 'plot twist' wasn't a surprise, there was such beauty in the telling
that the lack didn't matter. I adored this story and can easily imagine
Edward living out his days a happy man.

Edward was a fantastic character and you could tell that he truly cared about his friends and family, even if they had a few ups and downs. When his grandmother passed away, she revealed that his mother had a secret...a father he never knew he had. In order to receive his inheritance from his grandmother, which she hoped he would use for art school, he had to travel to Italy to search for his father. It quickly became a search for a needle in a hay stack, but while exploring the beautiful countryside, he found so much more than he had intended to.
I am so glad I read this book because it was so heartfelt and emotional, I couldn’t help but cry. The author portrayed the people and the land so beautifully, I couldn’t help but feel like I was there with them. Now I want to read her previous two books in the series.

When Eddies grandmother died he found out that the man he thought was his father wasn’t. He went to Italy to find his father and fell for Ivayla. Later a secret revelation that wasn’t expected has them all shocked. Their journey was full of surprises while looking for his answers. This was a good and interesting story

This is a light, fun book that is #3 in a series which I didn’t know but can be read as a stand alone book. Edward receives an inheritance from his Gram that is to be used for a trip to Italy and to take art classes. In Italy, somewhere is his real father he didn’t know about and his real father doesn’t know about him. Set in beautiful southern Italy the scenery is delicious and, of course, there is a girl!

Such a great getaway read. I highly enjoyed it. I read this as a stand-alone not knowing it was a series but I don’t feel I missed much.

Finding Edward is a quick, enjoyable read! Eddie works in construction and rents a room from his boss and friend. He’s getting on with his life when his grandmother’s will stipulates that he must go to Italy in order to get his portion of the estate. He’s told that his mother will provide the details. He then finds out that the hateful man he thought was his father is not, and his real father does not know about him nor does anyone know for sure where he lives or if he is alive.
The reader follows Eddie to Italy, witnessing the loss of his wallet and learning to manage without knowing the language. He meets helpful people, especially after becoming a hero for saving someone’s life with CPR. Restaurant owners, detectives, a love interest and a rival play parts. Eddie becomes Edward, a name that suits his new persona. He reaches some dead ends in the search but ultimately he and the reader are satisfied with the eventual outcome.
An upbeat and worthy afternoon or evening read!

What a delightfully charming read! Ms. Link paints a wondrous canvas of Italy—it’s enchanting landscapes, the passionate people, sumptuous food, and sheer beauty, as she gives us an introspective of Edward as he begins his journey of discovery. But it is more than a discovery of the awe-inspiring sights Italy, from the Amalfi Coast to Tuscany, but a discovery of true identity.
Ms. Link’s passion for Italy is evident throughout the course of the novel, as is her passion for her characters. Eddie starts off meandering through life with no set direction. That soon changes as inspiration strikes in the most unlikely of places.
While in Italy he finds the confidence and the purpose that gives his life meaning—his love of art and his artistic soul, but that’s not the only love he finds. A woman, Ivayla, enters his life and turns his world upside down helping to reveal his true calling. Their romance is heart-warming and endearing as are the other members of her family.

Quick and enjoyable read.
Find the job that doesn’t feel like a job.
In order to get the inheritance of his beloved grandmother, Edward has to go to Italy to find his father he never knew about. The trip throws a lot of curveballs at him but at the end he ends up with a girl, a loving father and a new passion for life.
I enjoyed this book very much, the characters were written well. I especially enjoyed bits and pieces of Italian language interlaced with the story, which added to the atmosphere. I spent several months living in Italy and I speak Italian, all of the characters and situations seemed very genuine to me.
The plot was quite predictable but it didn’t take away from the overall experience. I loved that the book is written from a male perspective. Overall, great easy vacation read that made me miss Italy and want to plan my next vacation to Amalfi coast.

Anyone familiar with the Save Me series will remember the brooding, troubled teen that was Eddie. This book delves deeper into the history that made him who he is. It can be read as a standalone but personally I'd recommend reading Toby and Claudia's books too so you can see where Eddie starts out and how he grows.
