Two pigs who drive the farmer and his wife crazy with their silliness and pranks decide to move to a new farm, only to be missed by all the other animals when they leave.
The almost perfect book to read to a "creatively active" child. The only reason I say almost is because I can easily picture the book as a way of "raising the stakes." Can even hear my once young ones saying "Challenge accepted" ;-) Mind you might make the perfect gift for the grands. Insert evil granny chortle
Karen Nagel must've taken some artistic liberty from Dav Pilkey cos her story Two Crazy Pigs is loosely borrowed, I think, from two crazy kids named George and Harold from the Captain Underpants novels. And still these little piggies are lovable enough to go to market any day of the week! The two oinkers are mischievous piggies who have fun giving the farm family a chicken run for the money. Then a new family tries to adopt them, only...they can't!! Because these are two WILD AND CRAZY PIGGIES!!! They're too cute and too fun in their love of chaos to belong to anyone else! Sweet drawings and cutesy prose that are guaranteed to make even harsh critics giggle! Sometimes something borrowed can be as well cherished as something new. Remember THAT now! Four stars The two piggies ROCK!
Teaches you a basic and fundamental human value that you will have friends and family only if you are not rude. No body would want to accompany you if you are not friendly.
It's explained in a very nice, subtle and funny way with animals to Kids (and for adults too) . A must read book.
The moral of the story is to be yourself. If that means you are a bit crazy, I guess that means you are crazy.
The story follows two crazy pigs and the silly antics they get into. The pigs are silly and do mischief but it is fun mischief (such as tickling chickens)and not scary or destructive. When they are forced to move to a neighboring farm with fun loving farmers, the animals on the previous farm miss them and aren't having any fun any more.
It is easy to read and the kids enjoy it. The pigs also look like they are having a good time. In all, an enjoyable and cute read and perfect for the beginner reader.
This is one part of a great series of early reading books: More Spaghetti I say, Two Crazy Pigs, Fraidy Cats, and The Day the Dog Said Cock a Doodle Doo!. I recommend all of them for their appropriate vocabulary, sentence length, reinforced learning through creative repetition, and beautiful bright illustrations.
Sort of a fun story--two pigs get rejected from their farm for being too obnoxious and messy. They find a new farm where the farmers love them despite their chaos. The animals from the original farm will no longer cooperate with the farmers since they miss their pig friends, so those farmers move to the city and all of the other animals move to the new farm with the pigs. A good message about loving others despite their messes, but I am a neat freak so I found myself wincing!
There's two pigs that cause mayhem on the Fenster Farm, which gets them kicked out. Luckily the next-door farmer and his wife take them in, but the Fenster animals miss them. Farmer Fenster and his wife retire and the animals come to stay at the neighbor's farm.
This is a book my daughter chose for story time the other day. Didn't even know we had a copy! Cute, silly, enjoyable for the kids, but just plain fluff. There is nothing in this book that would make me recommend it.
This was my absolute favorite book in 1st grade! When I was a Junior in High School I went back to check it out from the Elementary library and enjoyed it all over again :-)
This is such a adorable book. Childern can relate to this book if a friend in their classrom moves away. In this book the two pigs drive their owners crazy with silly pranks and then they move to a new farm and are missed by all their farm friends.
