Every epic love story starts somewhere

When Ryan Harrison met Annie Mathews, he didn’t expect his life to be turned upside down. One smile from her, though, one touch of her silky lips, and every one of his priorities was realigned.

For the past three years, he’s juggled his growing career in the pharmaceutical industry with her finishing school. He’s even managed to pretend their love affair is light and casual so as not to spook her. But now, with her on the verge of her college graduation, Ryan’s ready to step things up. Especially with the job offer he just received.

The only problem is…he has no idea if Annie feels the same. And if she doesn’t want to go with him to San Francisco, he has no idea what he’ll do next.

Before topping multiple bestseller lists—including those of the New York Times, USA Today, and the Wall Street Journal—award winning author Elisabeth Naughton taught middle school science. A voracious reader, she soon discovered she had a knack for creating stories with a chemistry of their own. The spark turned into a flame, and Elisabeth now writes full-time.

Though primarily known for her romantic suspense work, Elisabeth has penned over thirty books and continues to write in multiple genres, including paranormal romance and contemporary romance. Her books have been translated into numerous languages and have earned several award nominations, including three prestigious RITA® nominations from Romance Writers of America. In 2017, REPRESSED, the first book in her Deadly Secrets series, won the RITA® for best romantic suspense.

Elisabeth's work has been praised by the Chicago Tribune as being filled with "deadly intrigue, high adrenaline action, and scorchingly hot passion. Kirkus calls her "a writer talented enough at weaving a yarn to get her readers ensnared in it. When not dreaming up new stories, Elisabeth can be found spending time with her husband and three children in their western Oregon home, wrangling two cats, or chasing after one very rambunctious Dalmatian.

Precuela - Ryan & Annie (Kate)

This short read has left me dreading picking up Book 1 Wait for You. The way it ends is a hell of a cliffhanger. Maybe I should grit my teeth and steel my nerves and just go for it.

Wait for it A Surprise Prequel!

For those readers that are fans of the Against All Odds series, this is an absolute must-read. It’s a teaser story of how it all began for Ryan and Annie. Wait for You is a short read, but it's packed full of all sorts of heat, angst, and revelations that fill in their back story. So, I encourage you to give it a go.

Now, if you’re like me, and haven’t read the series, shame on me by the way, start with the prequel. I gobbled up their story in no time flat. Ryan and Annie’s story is sweet, but full of heat, and is basically a segue leading right into the original first book of the series, Wait for Me. As soon as I finished Wait for You, I immediately purchased the first book. The roller coaster ride of this read is almost immediate once the reader begins the next book, Wait for Me. Elisabeth Naughton has a way of pulling the reader into a story, for me, the book reads like a movie in my mind, her character development and depth keep the reader engaged, not to mention the twist and turns. Honestly, I can’t wait to see exactly how things will unfold. Happy Reading!

A Good Start....

This is the 1st title I have read by E. Naughton. I must say, I enjoyed it, thoroughly. I have fallen completely in love with Annie and Ryan. Naughton did an amazing job developing the characters, and did it in such a short period of time. As I journeyed through the short story, I chuckled, I laughed, I said "Awww", and felt like maybe my eyes could water. It is rare that I have the pleasure of enjoying an authors writing abilities in that way. THANK YOU, E. NAUGHTON!!!

I loved getting this prequel of Ryan and Annie. I was always intrigued about Ryan in Wait For Me and how he found his love again. Ryan and Annie were two young loves who had such bright personalities. They were so different and carefree in this prequel. It's just proof how tragedy can change a person. Ryan truly loved with his entire being and I found myself crying for him even though I had read Wait For Me before this prequel. This tale was the perfect start to a wonderful love story.

Good Prequel Story

I wasn't really sure just where this story was going when I first started reading. About half way, I started to get more interested. The storyline does give good background on the two main characters. I'm recommending this prequel story before you start the series. It does give much needed history.

3.0⭐️

This was an enjoyable story with very likable MCs. My only complaint is that this story ends in a CLIFFHANGER. I was very displeased with both the abrupt ending and the juncture where the story ended.

Beautiful, elegant, tantalising. A lot to get from a prequel novella, but this is one that really delivers on the feels.

The rest of the series just made my TBR list

Love Ryan & Annie!!!

But, really wish it would’ve started from when they first met!
Anyway, still good to see their backstory even if incomplete.

Ryan Harrison works for a Fortune 500 company. He is offered his dream job; however, it involves moving to San Francisco. Ryan feels divided between the job offer and his future with Annie. Can Ryan convince Annie to accompany him to San Francisco?

Annie Mathews is graduating college. She plans to further her education to obtain her degree in volcanology. On the eve of her graduation party, Annie senses there is something wrong with Ryan. What will Ryan’s news mean for Annie? Will she sacrifice her future plans to be with him?

Ryan is a doll. I adore how he patiently waited for Annie to graduate college. Ryan did not want Annie to miss out on her college life or allow their relationship to interfere with her education. What I like the most about Ryan is how conflicted he felt about the job offer and Annie. He was willing to give up his dream job just to have Annie in his future.

Annie took me a while to warm up to. I admire that she is a woman who knows her own mind. What I like the most about Annie is how she did not want Ryan to give up his dream job. She understood what that meant to Ryan.

WAIT FOR YOU is a prequel to Elisabeth Naughton’s romantic suspense series, AGAINST ALL ODDS. I have only read the first book in the trilogy. This story did give me a little insight on how Ryan and Annie met, something I missed in WAIT FOR ME.

This story....O.M.G.

This is the backstort for Ryan and Annie's story (which is found in Wait For Me) and the connection...the heat between Ryan and Annie just jumps off the pages. You immediately want them to be together and achieve all their dreams.

Having this little nugget helps show just how deep the connection between Ryan and Annie is and has been since the start and actually lead into explaining why things are so tight and complicated between Ryan and Annie in Wait For Me.

As always, another amazing book from Elisabeth who never disappoints. If you've read the Against All Odds series, you need to add this one to your collection.

(I was given and ARC copy to read in advance in exchange for an honest review.)

Ryan and Annie had a great relationship for three years, they were young, happy, and thought the world of each other. Ryan was given an amazing opportunity to move to San Francisco but didn't think Annie would go with him, since she was going to grad school and wanted to work with volcanoes. Little did Ryan know that Annie was looking at all of these different schools to go where he needed to go for his career. The two of them are young and are still learning to communicate with each other. Is the lack of communication create a large enough rift between the two of them that it can't be repaired? Can young love be ever lasting love?

Great bit of back story to how Ryan and Annie started their relationship and how they grew as a couple.

Wait for you is the story of Ryan and Annie. It is the prequel to Wait for me. It can be read as a standalone but I really recommend that you read Wait for me as well. Wait for you is a special book for me as Wait for me was the first book I read by Elisabeth Naughton and it solidified her as one of my go to authors. I loved reading about how Ryan and Annie met, how their relationship developed, we also get to know her parents and brother a bit more. It is a beautiful, fun, sexy, sweet and wonderful story.

I loved this story. Ryan and Annie’s beginning was so beautiful and tragic at the same time. The prequel made me read their story Wait For Me. Made me love them even more. I devoured the book. Don’t know how I missed this series as I thought I read every book. I quickly rectified that.

Merged review:

I loved this Prequel. Annie and Ryans beginning was so beautiful. Helps you understand their relationship in book 1. It was everything we didn’t realize we were missing. ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️

This is a Wait For Me prequel, book 0.5 and it features Ryan and Annie. Theirs is an easy but deep type of love. If I had a feeling that something was going to go epically wrong, I would have locked the doors and not let anyone out. I can’t wait to read the rest of their story!
