Job interviews are scary -- even when English is your first language. But by using just 8 steps to prepare, you can walk confidently into your interview.
What will you say? How will you talk about yourself? Can you keep your personality? How formal is the American workplace?
The 8 steps to interview success include: -- Finding the right mindset and calming your interview fears -- Researching the company with the open position -- Understanding your purpose -- How to nail the "About Me" speech -- Following up with the hiring manager after the official interview
This book was written after hundreds of 1-on-1 Business English coaching sessions with non-native speakers and includes advice from HR experts currently working with American companies.
I'm a writer who came by my love of words quite honestly -- as a child, I kept a flashlight under my bed to keep reading after my parents turned off the lights -- and used my word-nerdery in various marketing, editing, and coaching jobs.
I'm still constantly reading! Sci-fi, fantasy, and YA are my fiction go-tos. I also love reading memoirs and various history books.
After getting my business degree, traveling to 15 countries, meeting interesting people, and learning Italian for fun, I had the great idea to start my company Tina Teaches English. My 1-on-1 video lessons are where I developed my 8 Steps for Interview Prep book material.
Offline, I'm probably living up to my Horse Girl (TM) reputation, sitting in an English (what else?) saddle.
Or, I'm studying Italian for fun. I love finding interesting (and relatively easy) books & movies to watch so I can stay motivated! Since, unfortunately, I can't just visit Italy three times a year.
I wrote this book after hundreds of coaching sessions with ESL students who needed to prepare for English-speaking job interviews! So it combines encouragement, motivation, and a LOT of practical tips.
