I worked hard to become a woman everyone respects. I’ve earned my medical degree, established my practice, and did so under the scrutiny of a town that will not forget I had a baby out of wedlock.
In all that time, the name of my daughter’s father has never slipped out. It wasn’t to protect him but to give her the security she deserves. I never wanted her blindsided with the same emotions I was every time she walked into a grocery store to find his face splashed on the cover of yet another magazine.
Beckett Miller the reason my heart beat under the Texas sun. And the reason I had a purpose of getting up every morning these last twenty years.
I’m not surprised he composed a life without me. I always believed he could do it once he was no longer tied down.
I guess that included me.
What shocks me is the forbidden sense of longing that wells up inside me when we come face-to-face. I don’t know how I managed to get a word out, how I managed to blink. After all, the last day I saw him, we made plans to leave. I was just left behind.
He loved me or so he said.
I spent years thinking this gorgeous, tattooed rock god was a monster.
The problem is, I just found out he isn’t. But there’s one that threatens my family. And I’ll have to confront it because my daughter needs her dad.

Tracey Jerald knew she was meant to be a writer when she would re-write the ending of books in her head on her bike when she was a young girl growing up in southern Connecticut. It wasn’t long before she was typing alternate endings and extended epilogues “just for fun. After college in Florida, where she obtained a degree in Criminal Justice swearing she saw things she’ll never quite believe and never entirely forget, Tracey traded the world of law and order for IT. Her work for a global internet startup transferred her to Northern Virginia where she met her husband in what many call their own happily ever after. They have one son. Tracey, Tracey... I need a hug now... so bad. Love like this doesn't happen twice... and then you write a story like this. My heart, there are no words. Some people... and some love stories really deserve a second chance.
Both Beckett and Paige were betrayed by a super controlling family member, for purely selfish reasons. As a result, beautiful and talented Austyn was deprived of a father and Beckett and Paige were deprived of their planned family.
Not sure I could have forgiven all of those devastating lies Tyson told. No way would I ever trust him again! Nevertheless, I loved the part when Beckett and Austyn performed on stage together. What a dream come true for Paige.
Foreword PR is honored to be working with Tracey Jerald with her release of Perfect Composition, book three in her addictive Midas Series! Visit here to check out the early excerpt and find out how you can read Perfect Composition early here:
I loved Perfect Composition by Tracey Jerald, it featured a rock star hero (my favorite), it’s a second chance romance (also a favorite), and the characters were nearing 40 (also a favorite). I got WAY more than I bargained for in this book, way, way more. Ms. Jerald wove a tale of first love, betrayal, heartache, deceit, forgiveness, and more in this intriguing romance featuring characters approaching 40 who are just really beginning to live the life they deserve.
As teenagers Beau and Paige had plans to leave the small town of Kensington to escape the parents who haven’t even been there for them in the way they need. Plans are made and then one day Beau is gone and Paige finds out she’s pregnant. She knows he’ll come back for her but after 20 years; it’s pretty evident that rock star Beckett (aka Beau) forgot about her and never intends to return. Which is why when Paige is in New York City supporting their 19 year old daughter Austyn’s burgeoning DJ career as a big name club she knows she has to keep them apart until she can explain to her daughter just who her father is and why she’s kept it secret all these years.
I’m not even going to pretend that my heart did completely break in two for these two people, for the lies, half truths, and manipulation they were subjected to. That being said these are two pretty successful individuals in their own right and the fact that despite claiming the other held their heart for the last 20 years, neither one reached out, hired someone to help them get in touch, nothing? Beckett had the means to do just about anything to check on or find out information on Paige, and while I do think he still felt he would never be good enough, he could have at least checked in. While I get that Paige had no reason not to trust those around her and she has never forgiven Beckett for learning her and not looking back, given the fact she has his daughter should have been enough for her to seek him out. This is the one part of this story I had a hard time swallowing.
I loved the relationship between Paige and Austyn, it was clear Paige was going to support her daughter in reaching her dreams even though she might inwardly question them. Austyn was a smart, well adjusted, and strong young woman who understood what she wanted to do with her life might not be conventional, but she believed in herself enough to try.
Watching Beckett and Austyn form their familial bond was a thing of beauty; both so musically talented, both with a wicked sense of humor, and both so in love with Paige and wanting the best for her. I loved that Austyn was level headed about his absence in her life that she figured out quickly it wasn’t his fault or for that matter her mother’s fault and she set out to build their relationship yet she also didn’t want people to think she got a leg up in her career because of him.
It was not an easy road for Beckett and Paige to repair their friendship, learn to trust, and admit their love to one another. There were many ups and downs to their relationship and so many, many secrets that came out that blindsided them both. Honestly this book had more angst than I normally like, but considering everything that happened in the past I didn’t feel it was gratuitous.
From the first chapter to the last, I was completely immersed in this story and could not put this book down. Interesting characters, intelligent dialog, and a fantastic plot, I loved Perfect Composition.
This book just did not do it for me. It started off really good and it really had me interested in it, but as I read further I got more and more bored. So many tiny things happened instead of having one big plot problem like most romance books. It was just an odd thing to me. I also didn't 100% believe the romance. It's a second chance romance which isn't my favorite, and they just kind of automatically fall back into the romance they used to have. In real life it would've taken a lot of conversations to get past what they went through. Austyn was my favorite part of this and she was what saved the book for me.
Paige & Beckett fell in love when they were teenagers, but one day he was just gone leaving her with a parting gift. For twenty years, Paige has done a marvelous job at raising a beautiful daughter with all of his musical genius, while he's getting it on with all kinds of other women, and I couldn't help but feel for her even when things were revealed. See, no matter what, he never came back for her, and it was purely accidental that he even came face to face with her so I resented him for a great deal of the book. I know, it's a second chance at love but still, I can hold a grudge like no other so yeah, not going to lie, I called him every name under the sun. It was a very emotional story but there was comedic relief in Austyn, who kept me laughing hard because she was such a character. By the time I had finished this story, I felt totally worn out because of all the feels that I experienced, and I'm telling y'all, you don't want to miss out on this story to see if these two could overcome the past for the future they should have had! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
Two words....Beckett. Miller. Wow! I loved that we got his story! There's always something intriguing lurking underneath a rock god and Tracey sure delivered one heck of a punch to the gut. The story was not what I was expecting from the peek that we got of Beckett in the previous Midas books. Just goes to show how well Tracey can create a character and a backstory that will bring you to your knees. Beckett and Paige have one intense and mixed up history, full of secrets, lies, betrayal and a love that stretches through time(if only they would both pull their heads our of their behinds to realize it!). We go along for the ride as the secrets reveal themselves, changing the lives of everyone involved and causes Beckett and Paige to make choices that they never thought they would have to. Can they weed through the turmoil and get the second chance that they don't think that they deserve? Does the one thing that pulled them apart actually bring them together? This is the second full installment in the Midas series, can be read as a standalone, but I ensure you is more enjoyable and the little quirks and side characters situations are understood better if you dive in from the beginning. Oh and did I mention AGAIN like I do in my other reviews how I LOVE that all her books from other series are connected in the tiniest of ways? I am so here for Simon and Evangeline sneaking in there as well as my Amaryllis boys 😉🥰 Its so much fun to get little peeks of past series and characters to see what they are up to, and no one does it quite like Tracey!
I have waited for Beckett's book since I finish reading Perfect Assumption and I am not disappointed. The book is an angsty second chance and secret baby romance with a little bit of tragic past and humour between. The story begins with young Beckett and young Paige fell in love. Their different social classes make it sweet yet sad at the same time. 20 years later, they meet again and Beckett finds out that he has a daughter. It is so intense with Paige's feeling and the secret Paige's father holds make the story darker but their daughter and her brothers help create something to lighten the mood. Beckett's friends are not different. And I really like the alpha side of Beckett. Anyway, I still don't use to Tracey Jerald's rumble writing style but I still read every words just kind of skim reading it some. And the reason I give the book 4.5 stars is because after everything they have been through together, Paige still does something which I think it is impossible and unreasonable for Paige's maturity and that makes me struggling a little bit.
Her true love skips town to become a famous rock star leaving her behind pregnant with his child. Paige is it amazing mother. I really wish my mother and I had a relationship like this. She supports her daughter and everything she does.
Beckett is trying to get by making music and fighting off the paparazzi. The paparazzi are almost their own character in this book. His entire life seems dictated by what they do.
Beckett finds out he has a daughter when she comes to New York City to work as a DJ at a upscale nightclub. Austyn, his daughter, is just as talented as he is if not more.
The story goes on to explore what kept them apart and what it's going to take to bring them back together.
I really love the relationship between Paige and her daughter. That was my favorite part about this book. I think back it in Paige could have had more chemistry, and I feel like she reacted irrationally in a lot of situations that affected both Beckett and her daughter.
But overall this was a great read. I love Rockstar romance stories and it did not disappoint.
If you've read from this series then you've been aware of Beckett, and probably like myself, been drooling over him! Wait no more because he is about to melt your panties and send you into massive hot flashes!!! Seriously, I have been dying for Beckett to get a book! His story has so much more depth than I imagined! Second chance romance? Yes please! Small town? Yes please! Combustible chemistry? Uh...YES PLEASE! Beckett and Paige... Their story is so much more than love. They have this history that's beautiful but so very sad, so many obstacles to overcome. Their love is never dying but also fight so very hard to keep. Author Tracey Jerald did this couple with such emotion and heaviness with the right amount of lightness that I am jumping up and down fist pumping for this story! Tracey, thank you for doing Beckett the justice that only you can!!!
Perfect Composition: A Small Town Rockstar Romance by T. Jerald is a stand-alone and book three in the Midas series. Paige, a single teenage mom, became a doctor, has her life allfigured out. She loves her daugter, - now at college herself- deeply. But karma has a way to reign into your parade, so to speak. Confronted with her past she has to tell her daughter who' her father. Beckett Miller came from the wrong side of the tracks. He fell in love with the wrong girl, had to leave, became uberfamous, a rock god. Only he's still in love with his teenage love, Paige. Circumstances bring them together and thruths are revealed. Truths that whirlwindlike put all of the characters through the wringer. Beckett, hmm I couldn't really connect with him and I didn't like the meddling friends/employees. But Paige's character is a great one. I enjoyed this book, 4 stars.
This story of Paige Kensington and (Beau) Beckett Miller begins back in their hometown of Kensington, Texas but that is just the prologue of the story.
Fast forward 20 years and Paige has a daughter entering the music scene in NYC as a DJ and Paige and Beckett, as the now famous, musician/composer is famously known, almost come face to face. But in the meantime, Beckett has an inclination that Paige's daughter, DJ Kensington is his child.
There are many twists and turns to the story, there is a prominent presence of the characters from Perfect Proposal in this story, but the main story line is about deception, abandonment, and control.
Paige's father has caused the greatest majority of the harm in the story, but it does not stand in the way of true love, even 20 years later, Beckett and Paige find their way back to each other. But it is a long and twisted road. #ForewordPR
Beckett Miller has weaved in and out of the Midas series bring chaos and lots of damage control for his law team. This is his story. Beau Beckett Miller is a Texas boy raised by horrible abusive drunken parents in a rat-infested trailer. His only light is meeting and falling in love with Paige Kennsington, the rich girl living on a nearby ranch. When Beau's life takes an even more abusive turn Paige and Beau decide to run away. Well, he runs she is left behind. Beau, now Beckett, becomes a notorious ROCK GOD while 17-year-old Paige is left with ... a baby.
Twenty years later Dr. Paige Kennsington is encouraging her very musically talented daughter Austyn to spread her wings and fly. There are lots of secrets and heartache, deceit, and misunderstandings but in the end, there is a wonderful happy ending. Linda
I was sooo excited to final read about Becketts (aka Beau) story as he has intrigued me so much from the other books as well as I could see there was so much more to him and boy was there ever. Learning of Becketts early years is a bit heartbreaking add in what Paige went through after he left makes you see why Paige had so much resentment for him and wanted to keep Austyn from learning of her father, but we know all secrets must come out and there is more than one in this book which has the potential to ruin many lives. This book has loads of love, heartbreak, laughs, redemption along with betrayal and a second chance for two people who oh so deserve their happy ever after they should have had years ago.
This book…this book .Gah it was a timeless love story of the 17 year old girl ,Paige, and 18 year Beckett, the now famous rockstar who left her left behind in their hometown. The secrets, the deceptions, the manipulation of others that tore these 2 lovers apart. The lies Paige was told. The way Beckett tried to protect her. Neither stopped loving the other. This book deserves more than 5 stars. This is a new author to me and I will need to check her other books. This one is must read . I literally could not turn the pages fast enough to find out what what was going to happen next. The story lingers in the readers mind. I need more stories from this book.
I LOVE a second-chance love story, and Perfect Composition delivers intrigue, betrayal, and a super sweet love story. I realized after I read it, that it’s the third in a series, so I immediately downloaded the previous books and can’t wait to dive in.
Paige and Beckett shared a deep connection and love as teens, but despite promises, Paige is left behind in their small Texas town with a baby on the way. Years later they meet again, and realize that the last twenty years were built on lies. They unravel the truth from lies, and have a second chance at love that never diminished and the family they were meant to be.
This was an amazing read that kept me up at night and was so hard to put down. I love when you read a book and you fall in love with every one of the characters. Paige fought so hard to build a life for herself and her daughter, and seeing her vulnerability was heartbreaking. Beckett jumps right in to be her strength, and I loved how he fought for them. I also loved Austyn so much, and the relationship she shared with her mom is spectacular. I hope to be that cool of a mom when my kids are older ok maybe lol. I adored that Beckett and Austyn immediately connected and how they teamed up against Paige when she needed a push in the right direction. This was a 5 star read for me and I can’t wait to finish the series by reading the earlier books!
I’ve waited for Beckett’s story since we first met him in Perfect Proposal. I always knew there was something more to him than what the media portrayed. I just didn’t realize all he left behind.
Paige is absolutely the kind of mom everyone wishes they had. I loved her relationship with Austyn and how nothing was off limits, even sex. Though she is stubborn and has built up walls around her heart, I’m glad she allowed Beckett close. These two are perfect for each other.
Each time I read a Tracey Jerald book, I become even more enamored with her brilliant writing. The characters could be your next door neighbors with how “real these stories feel. Another hit!!
Wow... what a ride. This story wasn’t what I was expecting but in a good way. Paige and Beckett have a past that due to misunderstandings and mixups led them down different paths than the one they thought they would have been on. 20 years later these guys meet again. Hidden secrets and past misunderstandings come out into the light. The only thing that hasn’t changed is the chemistry these two have. Can Beckett, Austyn and Paige work through it all to become a family... especially when so much is trying to keep them apart. Wonderfully written, great characters... another must read.
I was given an ARC but voluntarily chose to review
Another great story from Tracey Jerald. Us rabid readers have read about Beckett for a while now and I am so glad we get his back story. Get ready because you are going to feel the gambit of emotions. Beckett and Paige were each other's first loves but life forced them apart. Now they have a second chance but the stakes are higher and the emotions overflow. Life is messy and everyone has a different version of "home". Paige and Beckett fight tooth an nail for their HEA but oh what a story! Together they write their life's symphony.
"True gold is found in the action of what people do." ~ Paige
Beckett Miller, what can I say?! I may have found a new book boyfriend…don’t tell Colby Hunt!! Perfect Composition by Tracey Jerald is book three in the Midas Series. We get a deeper look into Becks life and there’s way more to him and his story that I could’ve imagined after meeting him in the first two books. Composition follows Becks and Paige on their journey of long lost love and second chance romance. The obstacles and hurdles these two must endure at a chance for love would make others walk away. Once these two reignite their flame, there’s no turning back! Can’t wait for book four, and more Becks!!
Oh my goodness, this book is amazing! I am waiting on a Beckett to swoop me off my feet. Perfect Composition is a second chance romance with heart, emotion, with playful scenes that will make you giggle. This book is a slow burn but keeps you entertained throughout the entire story. I love how Tracey Jerald always includes characters from all her previous books.
I think this may be my favorite Tracey Jerald book to date and she has written some incredible stories. If you enjoy romance novels, this book is for you.
I picked up Perfect Compostion to read because it featured a rock star hero (my favorite), it’s a second chance romance (also a favorite), and the characters were nearing 40 (also a favorite). I got WAY more than I bargained for in this book, way, way more. Ms. Jerald wove a tale of first love, betrayal, heartache, deceit, forgiveness, and more in this intriguing romance featuring characters approaching 40 who are just really beginning to live the life they deserve.
I have been waiting for Beckett's story since we first met him. And it 100% did not disappoint. I was hesitant going in because secret baby has never been my favorite trope but when the baby is 19 years old and full of sass, it is a lot easier to digest. Austyn was by far my favorite character of the book and I'm ready for her story any time now. Beckett and Paige's reunion was alluded to in a past book but here we get to watch it play out in real time. So we get the second chance romance, small town and rock star tropes with secret baby! It's delicious. As always characters from other books make an appearance which I always love and the cliffhanger at the end to set up the next book is a doozy.
I really enjoyed watching Beckett, Austyn and Paige navigate the world of being a family, especially when so many factors are conspiring to keep you apart.
Many thanks to the author and Foreword PR for the advance copy!
Perfect Composition is the next book in the series by Tracey Jerald and it is my favorite so far. Beckett and Paige’s love story is tragic and heart warming and all around gives you the feels. Paige is a strong, independent, smart woman and Beckett is romantic and swoony. These two are burning for each other and it is a fantastic journey.
Oh I am so happy to finally be reading Beckett’s story! It was worth the wait. Beckett & Paige together was everything. Going on their journey wasn’t easy, but worth it in the end.
I am loving this series and I can’t wait to revisit these characters and their world.
I have been waiting for Beckett's story since we met him in Perfect Assumption & Tracey did not disappoint. This is a second chance, secret baby romance. This story has so much depth. It's heartbreakingly beautiful and has so much chemistry it will set you on fire. I went through so many emotions in this one. As always keep those tissues handy! What an amazing story.
Tracey did it again! I loved this installment of the Midas series. We have heard of Beckett for awhile now and i loved that we finally got his story.. it was so good. Paige was fantastic and perfect for Beckett. She's definitely his other half. And Austyn was awesome. Her drive and how her love for her mama. 💕 im so ready for Leann's book!
Having read the first two Midas books I've been looking forward to getting back into this world! I picked this one up as soon as I could and I enjoyed it so much!
Beckett and Paige's journey pulled me in right from the very beginning! Gosh, My heart and I went through it all with these two! I loved that I felt so much with them and that I got to be in both of their minds. I liked how I wasn't sure how everything was going to play out.
With Perfect Composition, Ms.Jerald has created such a good read that'll make you feel so much! I am so looking forward to book four!
*I volunteered to read and review a copy of this book from Foreword PR & Marketing / the author*
