A new book by two of Des Nilsen's biographers that at first glance seems to be an updated edition of their earlier work, . Don't be fooled; this is quite different. This one paints a picture of Nilsen's life behind bars and, wonder of wonders, finally offers us some biography of the men he killed. They also tell much, much more about the ones who got away alive This portrait of Nilsen is not sympathetic at all and possibly much more true to life than what I read in . Highly recommended.

I am a true crime fan and have never heard of this serial killer. So it was with some interest I read this book, although the grisly and gory details made me nauseous. One good point about this book is that the authors didn't ignore the victims and gave details about their lives and families, when possible. Some were mourned by their families, if the victims had families. Often, they didn't. One aspect of the book I didn't care for was that the authors went on long tangents, about other murderers.

Interesting

This book reads so easily and smoothly that I felt at times I was actually present during the and listening to Nilsen. I am left trying to understand him, just like the rest of mankind.

An interesting recount of Dennis Nilson’s life. Unfortunately, the writer seemed to go on long tangents about barely relative information.

This is a reissue of a true crime book published in the aftermath of the original trial about the crimes of Dennis Nilsen.

The majority of this book was original writing from 1983 when it was originally released. The book felt quite dated in it’s telling and it’s focus. I think it could have benefitted from more updating to make it more readable to a modern audience.

The book is a very thorough account of the trial and the media circus around the trial. There is more in the book about that then the crimes or earlier life of Dennis.

I have read a number of book about Dennis Nilsen over the last year and this is not my favourite of them but is a solid read on the crimes and subsequent trial.
