Did you know implementing any of the principles in Don't Forget to Ask could return 100 times the cost of the book (or more) the first time you use them? You certainly can, but don’t need to belong to the world of business in order to successfully employ the art of negotiation. Every single one of us negotiates at one time or another, and it makes up much more of our everyday lives and relationships than you may realize.

Whether you’re hashing out dinner plans or organizing a multi-million dollar deal, your work relies on the successful back-and-forth that comes with reaching agreements. Digital ARC provided by Netgalley

Successful negotiation requires compromise from both sides. Both parties must gain something, and both parties must lose something. The book provides you exactly with this some main and general negotiant ideas with examples supporting each affirmation. Each example is easy to relate and for a general aspect it is clearly helpful.
However, if you have some notions already this might not be what you were looking for to read. For me it was ok to revise the already known notions and to see a different way of explaining those things.

Simplistic and often unrealistic “tips on haggling , nickel and diming, wasting time and essentially lying told through contrived “business examples. The one demensional focus on price validates this as a book focused more on how to be a jerk vs. a consultative and respected negotiator.

Author gives excellent practical negotiation tips, using many scenarios and real life examples. I took away many tips that I had never thought of and will use. As the title suggests, “Don’t forget to Ask.

Short and the point book on negotiations andvsales. It delivers what is promises: the main principles of negotiations without a detailed how to plan but with many stories that can provide an example of how to make the suggested principle work.

Waste of time. Downloaded this book from NetGalley in hopes it would help me negotiate with my manager. But, there was nothing here appropriate for me in a professional setting.
