Business acquisition or BDSM takeover? Working in a male-dominated industry, Delia knows three things; she can sell anything, the only person she can count on is herself, and men are not to be trusted.
John sees, acquires, and transforms companies. His legendary focus and control have made him rich while his ability to recognize and nurture talent routinely guarantees success. Promoting Delia based on merit is the right thing to do, even if he’d prefer her bound and kneeling at his feet.
After finally being recognized for her hard work and effort, Delia wonders if this new boss is different from the men she’s known. Will these two end up in a mutually beneficial merger, or are they looking at a hostile takeover?

Sara spends her days working in the business travel industry and her nights writing intelligent romance novels with an erotic twist. She’s also a full-time mom to her two daughters, who are exhausting and wonderful, knitter, reader, and dog mommy to three extraordinary pups.
Delia has worked hard to get to where she is within her company. When she comes back from vacation to find a new hire, she's less than thrilled. John has just been hired into Delia's team, but what no one knows is he's undercover as the newest buyer of the company. He promotes Delia based on hard work, but finds he may want more than a work relationship. Delia finds he may be different from every other man she's known.
3.5 stars I have mixed feelings on this book. The steam was pretty good and the chemistry between Delia and John felt real. These two characters had dominant personalities, so to see them make the romance work was done well.
The writing was decent, but it didn't really pull me in. There was nothing in the beginning that made me want to continue with the book. The story itself was a basic office romance with BDSM thrown in, but the author did mix the two well.
This was a very good book. There were some typos that need to be corrected. However, the storyline was great. John was a lovable and sweet dom, and Delia was a strong woman. I will definitely be reading more from Sara R. Stewart.
Wow these books just keep getting better and better. In this one we meet Delia she is career driven and Cassies friend. John... goes undercover in a company he just bought to find the best people and see how there sales department is. When Delia walks into her office its lust at first site... for both of them. I love seeing Delia get the position she wants, and open her heart to John. John is so amazing in this book. And little does he know his friends are right. With the right woman it all feels so much better. Amazing book. I received a copy of the book from the author and I'm leaving a voluntary and honest review.
I enjoy romances that show their main characters growing in love as opposed to falling in love so of course I enjoyed Bound by Pride. I read it in one sitting. Sara R. Stewart skillfully incorporates kink in this quiet and believable story. If you like your erotic romances to burn slowly you'll enjoy Bound by Pride too.
It took me a little while to get into the book because it felt a bit disconnected at times in the beginning but once it got past all the business talk and the two main characters working together, and more into the relationship building, I really enjoyed it.
I am in love with Delia and John. The work place tension was off the charts and the way the author molded the story to be respectful was a breath of fresh air! The spicy was right in point!! The books just keep getting better and better!!!! Can't wait for the next one
I received a copy from the author. John an Delia insta lust, sexy read filled with all real life feelings. Page turner, well written with great characters. Definitely recommended read.
Interesting topic. It is so hard for women in a man's world. It is a reality in todays society and the author did the topic justice. First, she was his boss, then he was her boss, then she watched him with a sub. She gets promoted on her merits but has a relationship with him. This makes it hard to comit within all the boundaries involved. There are some amazing personalities in the characters and some were a surprise. The pool scene was page turning steamy.
Absolutely loved it!!! I can’t wait to go back and read the first 2 and for the 4th to come out. I love books set in the Portland area. You get the wrong impression of John in the beginning, and you don’t think Delia will ever try again. Glad I kept reading and watched their relationship develop. I loved all the characters and look forward to reading me. Highly recommend for sweet love and hot sex!
This book has its moments. There is some sweet, and some steamy, and then the very explicit BDSM. I think I would have enjoyed it more if the plot had been more engaging. As it stands, that is a bit of dressing around the sex, rather than driving the story forward and allowing the reader to experience the lives of the characters. The author superficially points to some very important social topics but doesn't do anything with that.
The storyline in and of itself isn't unique and doesn't really stand out in any way. I've read many other romance books with an almost identical plot line, and this one doesn't really offer anything more to balance that. The characters, too, are unremarkable. Of the social issues, and especially the sexual harassment at work situation had been used to make a real statement about the corporate world of today, rather than brushing over it all and turning it into a moot point through the storyline, I think I might have enjoyed the story more.
The explicit scenes are written very well, but other than that I don't find much that makes this book stand out. It does have great potential though, so perhaps in a future edition it could become much more gripping, engaging, meaningful and a powerful read.
I recently received a copy of Bound by Pride from the Author through voracious books. I found at the beginning of the book I was drawn in by the characters and engaged in their slow build up towards a relationship. I was engrossed but found midway through the story alot of politics seemed to distract and breakup the flow of the story. The characters are relatable and consent is an issue of importance in the story which I thought was great.
When a career woman not looking for love and a successful business man happy with a casual BDSM lifestyle meet at work sparks will fly and temptations will arise. This book is so,so hot but at the same time so sweet....Delia and John's chemistry is insane and their story is so good. A fantastic read.
Delia first meets John when she gets back from vacation and he is using her office. She is a little taken back by this sexy man in her space. He has been hired as a new sales manager for the same company Delia works for. John is a man who knows what he wants and does all that he can to get it. Delia is no different but he worries because what she doesn’t know yet is that he is her new boss. They take things slowly as Delia has worked had for her job and doesn’t want anything to jeopardize that.
Was sent a copy of this book by the author so I haven't read the 2 before it but it wasn't needed as it stands alone. Did take a while to get into the book and would have liked a little more steamy encounters but by the end it was good.
An absolute must read for all, an amazing love story between Delia and John. A love of family, there was humor also and learning of BDSM. Was amazed by this book it's a powerful story! Your amazing Sara R Stewart!!!
Delia is a career oriented woman, totally shut off to love. That is until she returns from vacation to a new employee. John is attractive and assertive. Delia cannot get him off her mind but because she’s his boss, things will never happen between them. When John reveals he isn’t who Delia thinks he is, do they actually have a shot at love? This is a super spicy book with a happily ever after. I received a free copy of this book from Voracious Readers.

This book was really great read. I loved how each character work through life struggles. Each character finding the person who bring the best out in each other while keeping a steamy romance life.
Interesting Read.... Really enjoyed this emotional thriller, Delia and John are two amazing character that were brought together through them meeting at work. Delia is a good getter that is worked hard to get what she wants and puts her all into everything especially work which is her life and passion, because she has had to work hard for everything she has.
John is a handsome rich, very powerful Alpha male that always gets what he wants by any means necessary. He loves to dominate and he wants someone he thinks that maybe submissive but he has met this match with Delia who refuses to submit. Delia has been emotionally messed up by a crappy ex husband who made her feel she did not deserve happiness and a rough upbringing by neglectful parents.
The author gives you so many emotions: love, hate, regret, lust, feeling unworthy, pride. There's two amazing paired characters, but will there relationship blossom or fail? Will there be trust issues? Will he need to dominate run her away? This one has lots of twists and turns and lots of suspense. Can't wait to read he next book in the series. Very Steamy Scenes.
This is the 2nd book I've read written by Sara R. Stewart; I can’t wait to read more of her books.
This is the 3rd book in the Portland Lovers Series; it is a stand-alone book. The story is about Delia & John; she works for him. She knows three things; 1 she can sell anything, 2 the only person she can count on is herself, 3 men are not to be trusted. After John promotes her she begins to think maybe he’s different from all the other men she’s known.
I received a free copy of this book via booksprout and I’m voluntarily leaving a review.
DNF I didn’t finish it, it wasn’t for me. This isn’t to say it wouldn’t be suitable for others, but I didn’t like the writing. The FMC talks about herself, what she feels and not much about the surrounding. Other than the MMC being “insanely hot, I can’t tell you much about the world they’re in. It felt unrealistic to me, and there was a lot of dialogue too. I didn’t feel the dialogue was representative of a really situation and it took me out of the story. As an example, I really wouldn’t expect my best friend to remind what their job role was and what it included in the first few sentences of a phone call. Maybe others would like it, not for me :(
This isn't a genre I usually read but I enjoyed this book once I got into it. The main characters had some depth which I enjoyed and I enjoyed getting to know the MMC family as well as how he got to be so rich and powerful. I like that the FMC doesn't just submit and works through her feelings about the new world she is entering.
My only complaint is that I found some errors that could be corrected through some better editing.

I was debating whether do give 4 or 3 stars. First of all, 4 stars for the steamy sexy romance which kept me reading, and finish the book in 2 days. Or 3 stars because of all too perfect characters, specifically MMC who seems too be good to be true, and made me for some reason dislike him. All in all, the book is an easy read that touches some interesting topics in todays society, and could be an overture to some enticing reads in the future.
I enjoyed this book. Although I found the sex scenes could vary between well written or rushed. I also found some of the relationship building to rush in places, or to dramatically change directions. But it was still an easy read.
Delia and John are both very hard working people who meet at work and instantly have an attraction. Their romance is slow to start but goes for 0-100 in no time. Loved the characters and the steamy bdsm sex scenes. Such a good read.
