Phantom's Welcome Home . . .

Forest “Phantom Lochlan was coming home on leave. This book had me wondering right from the start if I really liked it much or not. I did not like the female main character, Desiree Austen, for what she did. That was further irritating when the families also kept that major secret from Phantom. Adding in that she had ghosted him after he claimed her and was deployed made me wonder why he even bothered with her after that. Providing the overabundance of steamy stuff was not a good reason for avoiding communication, which would have been the best path to fixing their relationship. I just felt negative about the whole thing.

Forest/Phantom and Desi were in love with each other since they were kids. A year before they had one great night together.... they were their each other's one and only. Now Phantom is back from his deployment after a year of radio silence and gets a huge surprise. 😉 He's back to claim his woman and so much more. Sweet, romantic , safe and without drama and with a great HEA😍😍😍
Personally I couldn't understand why Desi acted like that... it was kind of wrong and sad for Phantom but thats just my personal opinion 🤷‍♀

When a book starts with .
The night before I shipped out all those months ago, we finally ended up in bed together, but since then, she’s ignored every letter, email, and text I’ve sent her.

. I do not consider it a story with a virgin hero. Sorry!

This was a really steamy second chance romance with a surprise baby thrown in the mix. I liked the story but I felt like it needed just a bit more communication between Forest and Desiree, I felt like the conversation that I would expect from the storyline was skipped in exchange for steamy bits. And I can’t stress enough that I love steamy bits but in the story it seemed odd. I don’t think the natural response to finding out you have a son, is to let someone else take him so you can get some. But I did like the story.

Phantom has loved one woman since he was 10 years old. Desire is her name.

He is a career soldier and, although writing to his girl for the past year while serving in Afghanistan, he has never gotten a reply.

He is now back on American soil, with a new promotion that he can't wait to share with the love of his life. Upon landing, he says his goodbyes to the boys in his unit and to his Sargent, hops into his car and drives the long drive that will bring him to his Desire.

Once he arrives, he sees her asleep and his heart is blown away by her beauty. However, there is someone else there.

Although a novella, the author has touched, I am certain, every scare, happiness, doubt and reacquaintance procedure that our brave men and women in uniform go through once back.

I recommend the book and rate it 5 Stars.

First things first; I like the cover of this book!
Codename Phantom is a novella in the ‘’soldiers for Christmas’ collection.
This story is short, fast paced and an enjoyable read.
I read this book in one sitting and was satisfied throughout. I found the writing style easy to follow, the characters likeable and the storyline enjoyable. Forest has wanted his best friends younger sister for years. They had one night together before he was deployed. A year later and he is back for his girl, what will happen between them?
The chemistry between Phantom/Forest and Desi is clear to see and I liked them together.
I liked the ending and the epilogue for this story.
The storyline for this book is easy to follow and it is an enjoyable read.

Disappointing

I have read this author's works before and she's very good but this is a very disappointing story. It needs an edit, there were words missing, extra words that didn't make sense. It just made it an unpleasant read. It was very blah, and no chemistry between the characters. I'm sorry but having a secret like that kept from him would have made him at least a little bit angry so that part I think was a little unrealistic, especially with the weak excuse she gave him and his own family not telling him. It didn't really feel like there was a plot. It almost feels like it was a rush job because it needed to be finished by a certain time.

He has been in love with his best friend's sister and he waited until she was eighteen before claiming her. He has been deployed for a year and she has not responded to any text, calls or emails in that time. He is determined to find out what happened and why she will not talk to him.

He is in for a big surprise, will he be angry when he finds out what happened?

This was a sweet and steamy read with a happily every after.

Secret overload

Codename: Phantom by M.K. Moore is part of the multi-author Soldiers for Christmas series. This story is about Desiree Austen and Forest "Phantom" Lochlan. This story was different from the others in the series that I have read, both in a good and a questioning way. There is a lot of steamy hot passion and forgiveness overload for a major secret that was kept by not only Desiree but his best friend, who is also her older brother, and his own family. So I was not really buying it but I went with the story and still found it to be an entertaining read.

I usually love M.K. but...

This was a big miss for me. He was deployed in a war zone and she ghosted him!? That's stupid. He'd be completely distracted in the worst way. She could have just not told him about the baby. And her excuse was "I was busy"?? None of this was ok. Being deployed and working towards promotion aren't the same. He couldn't have left just because she was pregnant. You're soulmate wouldn't do that. None of this was good for me. I'm just pissed at his immature girl.

Second Chance, Secret , best friend's little sister

She was the one who got away. But she kept something important from him, as did the rest of their families.
This story felt ... off. It was shorter than the rest and had several typos.

Each book in this series mentions the same wedding. Each book is fast-paced and easy to read (except the typos in this one, please the wrong in the middle of one chapter). Some will have triggers.

good

So this was another good addition to this series. I’m really enjoying getting to know this group of soldiers but I have to tell the truth and I was a little conflicted on this one. I loved Phantom and how sweet and sexy he was but I really didn’t get Desiree. Her reasoning for not telling him her secret for a whole year didn’t make sense to me. Even the fact that his own family didn’t tell just didn’t feel right. But overall it was still an entertaining read.

Phantom/Forest is home from deployment and anxious to find his best friend's sister who he's loved for years. Desiree was eighteen when they spent one special night together before he left for a year but now he's back and about to get a surprise. This is a sweet, second chance love story with a surprise twist. The writing is well done, the characters are likable and the ending was great. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.

Fun Read😘

Phantom was a fun and sweet surprise baby story that I couldn’t get enough of. Forrest (aka Phantom) & Desiree have been in love with each other for years and they both get the best surprise when they reunite with each other.🥰 I really enjoyed how short and sweet their story was, and hope we get more from Desiree’s brother and best friend in a future book!

Phantom is finally home from his year long deployment, only to get the shocker of a lifetime. Great storyline with many characters that all help in playing a role in surprising Phantom. Loved the ending as so much has happened to them in their lives that the epilogue explains.

Book was super short and was like 60% sex. I couldn't really engage in it. Heroine really pissed me off, first ghosting him and then keeping his child a secret from him. I saw no good reason why she never let him know about the baby and the fact that everyone on both sides including his parents and sister were in on it as well.....no, that's so wrong.

Más un cuento corto q otra cosa.... no se supone q tendría q estar un poquito más enojado....??? Digo yo, no...?? Bueno está autora si se tomó en serio el "historia corta sobre soldados en navidad".... literalmente fue una cachetada de cosas sin el menor intento de desarrollo de la historia, o sea llegó, se enteró, la puso y felices x siempre....🤨😒

This is a very short story and mainly consists of bedroom action. There is no real conversation between the two main characters, that is apparent to the reader, which makes for a very superficial storyline.

While we did get a happily ever after and a great epilogue, I was really frustrated with Desi. I did understand where her head was at, but I personally think it was the wrong decision.

good quick read

This was a good quick read. The characters were nice, even though I didn’t care for the heroine’s actions. Even though this was a quick read, it felt very rushed. I think I would have enjoyed it more if it were a little more fleshed out.

M.K. Moore painted a sexy, sweet picture with Forest and Desiree's story. They were perfect together. Their chemistry sizzled and sparked right off the pages! This is a really great Christmas story with a perfect HEA!

Welcome Home ~

I enjoyed this very fast paced story. They fell in love young, but it never wavered. She hid a very big life altering surprise from him, but it didn’t change his love for her. He embraced it, and they got their happily ever after.
