I finished this series in a few days, I’m going to be reviewing these separately though honestly I would genuinely recommend most people to not read on past the first book. After the first book I put it down remarking on how much I loved it, immediately opening this up to dark trigger warnings. I did not expect this and would genuinely not have started this series at all if I knew this as I stay away from dark romance books.
This book was so frustrating, I see the author promise that it’s for a reason and it gets wrapped up but let me assure you it does not. The dark themes of this book extend mostly into book 3, with minimal happiness as well so be warned. Know there is no actual reason for what the author does here except for shock value and to add darkness. I would never recommend this book. It’s dark and gruelling for no reason and I skimmed a lot of it. How absolutely frustrating a vampire around thousands of years can’t recognize compulsion sickness and actually help someone he claims to love.

This is going to be a review of the three books in the trilogy
So most probably there will be some spoilers
book 1 5🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
book 2 5🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
book3 4.5 🌟🌟🌟🌟
overall trilogy 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Some notes before though

This is an RH (why choose) romance. The heroine has four love interests so many spicy scenes occupy the chapters
The story is fast-paced and because of that not many detailed descriptions are found (something I personally like in romances)
Because of the multiple love interests and the fast-paced plotline, and to not prolong the book, each book is not more than 420 pages. For that, the events may feel rushed. However, this does not deter them from enjoying them
Personally, with other RH series that were extended into 5 or 6 or 7+ books to build the slow connection of the characters, I loved that this was just 3 books. It would be boring if it were more
Book 3 may feel the most rushed, especially at the end, however, the author explains in the notes the reasons. Still, the story is complete and closes perfectly with HEA.
It’s a very dark trilogy, so many trigger warnings are there should you read, especially book 2
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Theme: RH “Why-choose dark paranormal romance

Characters : Eden “time traveling human
Sebastian “Alpha Vampire Pack leader
Luca “Alpha Vampire sired by Sebastian
Finn and Cade “Alpha Wolf-shifters
Keket “Original Vampire villain

Topes: - Insta-love
- Slow burn
- Fated mates
- Grumpy/sunshine
Triggers (check more in the book and authors page)
- Physical attack
- Non-Con (not sexual)
- Suicide thoughts
- Self-starvation
- Depression

Conflict: Is Love enough especially if it brings harm? Does Love transcends time?
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Book 1 meet the characters

Eden lives in 2028 of our world (yes in the near future). She is a survivor of an attack. She is practicing martial arts to defend herself and gain back her confidence. She is also going through a nasty divorce.
Amidst her chaotic life, her aunt dies and leaves her a Victorian estate. Eden finds a mirror in one of the rooms that transports her to 1667 France where she meets four dashing men who happen to be two vampires and two wolf shifters.
image:

Their courtship starts with humorus situations along the way as one expects when the past and future collides. The wolf shifters instantly accept Eden as she turns out to be their mate. However, Sebastian, the hot headed Vampire fights his attraction until he cannot anymore
When it seems all is well and settled, a dramatic shattering turn of an event happens that separates the lovers. Book 1 ends with a cliffhanger.

What I loved about this book is we get to see the real Eden when she is surrounded by nourishing love. When we first meet her, she is going through deep depression because of her family loss, her attack and her divorce. She is melancholic and contemplates taking her own life. However, once she is with her men, the fun, loving, caring, strong Eden emerges.

Just imagine this
You are transported into the past, you meet 2 vampires and 2 wolf-shifters, and the first thing you ask them is “Please, please tell me there are dragons?. Immediately I knew I’ll have a blast with this book
It was also clever for the writer to put that Eden came from 2028 where technology provided solar recharge for iPhones. Because this device played a part in the story. Although I questioned whether Siri would function without the internet!!

Usually, in RH romances, I always notice that one character is not present enough and that the author has a favorite that is more focused on. Not the case here thank God! Each of the four love interests had his own moment to shine

Book 1 ends with a devastating cliffhanger

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Book 2 The conflict

“Spoilers for book 1

Book 1 ends with Eden killed in 1667, but she is transported back to her time. She desperately tries to find a way back to her men. Meanwhile, the four guys suffer tremendously for more than 100 years because they think she died. We see how this affected them so much. Luca starts losing his mind slowly. Finn and Cade go into a depravity phase, and Sebastian retorts back to his grumpy state trying to keep his pack together.

They decide to leave France for the Colonies in an attempt to forget Eden.
Back in 2028, Eden receives a package from her dead aunt with a letter containing a clue that the mirror works during a full moon. It’s only been less than 30 days for Eden but more than 100 years for the men. The mirror takes her to America in 1776 and she is reunited with her loves
But here is where the plot turns tricky!

Luca starts rejecting her because he realizes that one way or another Eden will die since she is a human and they will go through the pain again. Sebastian refuses to turn her because he knows what happens with new turned vampires. They go into an almost two year bloodlust and killing. He knows Eden will hate them and herself if she does this

Eden tries to rebuild her relationship with her men, especially Luca. While discussing the time-traveling issue, she promises Sebastian that if she dies and goes back to her world, she will not come back again and let them suffer through the pain again. Shortly after, Eden is killed (while she is dying, something very important happens) and instead of keeping her promise she desperately tries to come again and again. Sebastian, in an attempt to save his pack, prevents her from meeting them, mainly Luca.
This affects all of them severely. Eden and Luca are on the verge of madness and self-harm. And no one knows why Eden is insisting on coming back

This book raises the thought of “what if your love is harmful? Would you continue to want to be with your loved ones? Even if you are not intentionally causing the harm?

I felt for Eden. Her desperation to go back to her lovers, but at the same time I understood Sebastian reasoning for preventing her from coming back.
”I love you Eden.forever. know this, if I ever see you again.. I will kill you myself
The book ends with Eden having to make the toughest decision and sacrifice.

And my heart shattered into million pieces.

book 3 the ending

“spoilers for book 2
Eden has chosen the ultimate sacrifice. With her aunt’s magical compass, she goes back to the moment the mirror took her the first time and destroys it, thus removing all memories from her self and her men of their encounters.
It’s the year 2028. The four paranormal are now businessmen who own an infamous nightclub. Eden is back to her life as EMT. Even though they lost their memory of each other, they are plagued with dreams of their previous lives.

when they meet again, there is a de ja vu of book 1. Finn and Cade immediately are connected to her. Luca wants her. Sebastian fights the attraction.
And again, a dramatic turn of events happens that shows how deep Eden’s love for them is, how smart she was in planning everything, and how enormous the sacrifice she had to make.

Some would say that the book is rushed. I don’t personally see it as rushed per se. I feel like it needed an extra 50 pages to grasp the ultimate action Eden had to do.
The climax of the conflict in book 2 was downsized to “oops! It was my fault without a proper apology. It felt that Eden had to do all the work and the men were just spectators.

But overall, I loved how the ending bound the previous books. And I enjoyed the trilogy.

DNF. This was just sad. I got like 60-70% in I don't remember. But it was just sad. Why would you want to read something that makes you feel this way? I read to escape & enjoy a happy story, so this wasn't for me. I'll only consider reading the next book if reviews say it's happy. Cuz freak!

Oh man, DNF at 20%
I honestly don't know what the fuck happened here.

The first book was good, if deteriorating a bit throughout the book. This one is just...gah!
It takes her a month to figure out the mirror and her her shit in order to travel back in time, except that she lands herself in America instead of France, and about 100 years later.

It doesn't take long for her to find the guys in this time which was nice, but their reunion is nothing like I'd have wanted to read.
Luca pretty much hates her for the love he felt then lost. He's pretty much a bastard to her.
The Wolves spent years fucking every thing they could to drown out her memory, and Sebastian is not the Alpha that he was in book one and although seems to be happy to have her back from the dead, he also treats her with distrust like she's going to leave them again

On her part, she keeps apologizing for leaving them like it's something she chose to do and not a result of being murdered. She keeps promising to prove to them she's not going anywhere (impossible, when she didn't try to in the first place).

Honestly at this point I don't want to know anything else about them. I don't want to read any steamy scenes with the wolves after they've been whoring themselves around for the last 100 years, Luca has his head up his ass and Sebastian is so far from the commanding alpha that he was I just don't even care about him right now.
Very disappointed in this book.

I wish i could say i enjoyed this more but i just found it incredibly frustrating. First it was character behavior that was frustrating, then by the second half of the book it was also actions being taken.

There are a few separations and it makes sense in this time travel scenario, but it made me sad to read how the guys felt and dealt with her leaving.

There were parts of the plot that felt like Groundhog Day but not quite, and the last 25% was the most frustrating part to read. I will still read book 3 to see what the point to all of this was, but the end did feature probably my least favorite plot device.

I’m just hoping book 3 will smooth things over and give some deeper explanations, but with 4 books total that also makes me antsy. I also hope that the direction they’re going in won’t feature OW drama (sorry that’s just a personal preference).

The emotions felt in this book was really well done though. I felt like the characters had good chemistry and it depicted things well. The steamy scenes are awesome too.

Eden is still a pretty great fmc, and while I liked the guys throughout, I’m not sure how I’ll feel about them in the next one.

Overall, while not what I thought this series would be, it’s still a solid read if you like more angst and emotional moments. Curious to see how we’ll get to a HEA.

OMG this book!! It killed me! God, I wanted to scream and rage and pull out my hair. I cried! This book has moved this series to my favorites shelf! One of the BEST RH series I’ve read! If you are nervous about reading this book like I was, I say do it anyways. From what the author has said, it will all be worth it by the end of the next book. Which I’m starting right now!

🎶

Eden Kelly (h) is determined to fight time itself in pursuit of her happy ending. Haunted by her past and desperate to return to the men she loves—men she almost had centuries ago—she takes the plunge through the mirror once more, unaware that her quest for eternal love may lead to a devastating tragedy.

─── 。゚: THOUGHTS*. .*:☆゚. ───

“It’s been eighty-one years since Eden died. Today will be the last time we speak of her. We will leave her and our memories of her in France and sail on the tide to the new world where we will forge a new life. It’s time for us to live again, brothers. It’s time for us to forget and move on. Fix her face in your minds for the last time and then let her go - for once we set sail we will never speak of her again.

I think this book has to be one of the worst I’ve ever read. The plot went downhill from the first installment, which is frustrating because I genuinely believed it had potential. Eden kept going back to the same men, despite being told repeatedly not to, and it felt like she was just making everyone miserable. Every time she returned, it was like a brief romance followed by her sudden death, only to come back and repeat the cycle. I couldn’t understand why she didn’t listen when they begged her to stay away. She had only spent a month with these men, yet somehow that was life-changing enough for her to time travel back to them over and over again. It felt forced and unrealistic. What made it worse was how the men treated her. They seemed more upset about her returning and “ruining their lives than missing her. They acted like she was to blame for not being able to control her time travel. I mean, she literally had no say in when or where she came back! It was infuriating to see them punish her for something completely beyond her control.

“Lass, I still canna believe you’re here! I’ve ached for you every moment that you were gone. I never stopped missing or loving you.

“Yes, except for the first eighty years after you died. Those moments were filled by your wolves with copious amounts of spirits and fucking every red-headed whore they could find.

And let’s not forget Cade and Finn, who were with other women during her absence. I get that she was gone for years, but they’re supposed to be mates. The bond shouldn’t just disappear because she time-traveled. I was also frustrated by how she constantly apologized for leaving them, feeling mopey and sad as if it was her faultShe had nothing to apologize for—she was killed and ended up back in her own timeline! It felt like she was being a doormat instead of standing up for herself. Sebastian was probably the worst offender. He tells her he loves her but also insists she vow never to come back if she dies, as if that’s going to protect anyone’s feelings. It felt incredibly hypocritical. She acts like she purposely hurt those guys and left them just for kicks. I mean, come on! She keeps apologizing over and over like she’s the one to blame for everything that happened. It’s like, girl, stand up for yourself! You didn’t choose to get killed and time travel back—it’s not your fault! What really gets me is how she comes off as such an airhead. Instead of owning her situation, she just wallows in guilt and confusion. It’s infuriating to watch her be so passive. Instead of confronting her feelings and the chaos around her, she keeps apologizing like that’s going to fix anything. It’s like she doesn’t realize that sometimes life just happens, and you can’t control everything. Her constant need to say sorry makes it hard to root for her. I wanted to see her grow stronger and more assertive, but instead, she just keeps digging herself into this hole of self-blame. It feels like she could have been such a cool character if she just stood up for herself and said, “Hey, I’m not responsible for how you feel! But no, she just keeps being all mopey and sad. Seriously, Eden, get it together!

“Do you hate me, then? I ask in a small voice.

“I understand, I whisper and make to back away but his hand flashes out and grabs my wrist.

“Yes, but it’s only a fraction compared to the love I will always have for you.

Finn claims that even if two hundred years had passed, they would still love Eden the same. Really? Because it sure doesn’t feel that way! “They act like she’s the one who messed everything up, but they’re the ones who blamed her and went off with other people. Talk about a double standard. It’s wild how they wanted her to just go back where she came from, like it was all her fault for being there. They were more upset about their own feelings and couldn’t handle the idea of losing her again. So, instead of owning up to their emotions, they just shifted all the blame onto her. Classic deflection, right? I mean, sure, Eden’s not perfect, but come on. She’s dealing with time travel and all this chaos, and they want to make her feel guilty for their mess? It’s such a frustrating dynamic. It’s like they want to have their cake and eat it too—expecting her to be there for them while simultaneously punishing her for being around. I can’t believe they have the audacity to act like she’s the problem when they’re the ones who can’t handle their own emotions. The self-blame she carries is just wild. It’s like she’s internalizing all this negativity as if she’s the one who messed everything up.

Newsflash: she’s not the villain here! It’s insane how they expect her to take on all this guilt. Cade’s acting like he’s some tortured soul, but really, he’s just adding to her emotional burden. Instead of helping her feel secure and valued, he’s just making everything more complicated. He says he hates her, but it “doesn’t compare to the love he has for her. Like, seriously? What kind of mixed signals is that? It’s so dramatic, and honestly, it feels a bit manipulative.

─── 。゚: OVERALL*. .*:☆゚. ───

Honestly, the book was just terrible. The plot was all over the place, and the characters made choices that felt frustrating and unrealistic. Instead of diving into meaningful character development, it felt like we were stuck in a loop of poor decisions and melodrama.

Ok first off I have to say that this book is written very well and the story this author creates is mind blowing. And I have nothing against her but this was just not my jam. Now that I have that out of the way, imma share how this book made me feel. I have NEVER been more shook by a book in my entire life. I honestly don’t even know what to do with myself. I feel gutted, like I can never feel safe reading another book again for fear that it might make me feel this way again. I can’t even put into words the emotional turmoil I feel. But again I must say, to each their own. I’m sure there are many people out there that would truly enjoy this book. It was just WAY too much for me to handle apparently. I do look forward to how the author is going continue the story. Cause I’ve got no idea.

Tough read

This one was a really tough read.
How stupid is Sebastian that he can't recognise why Eden is struggling?
Why were the cousins so easily forgiven for the way they handled her 'death'?
Why was Eden blamed for something entirely not her fault and made to feel bad for most of the book?
Nothing really made sense, the random appearance of the sire vampire was never explained.
Sebastian becoming hateful makes me despise his character.
Eden was a victim this whole book of 4 walking red flags.
It was a painfully boring read too.
I will try the last book (KU I would never pay for this) but I don't hold out much hope

Caution for people with depression

I wasn't expecting half of the book to affect me negatively. Some scenes triggered some part of my mental health that I had to skip through.

The story is so good, but it became too much for me to handle.

As someone dealing with self harm, this is all too much. Now, my anxiety is pouring through, and I have to deal with my own. I wish I had read this in a not so difficult time, and it's a good thing I have an appointment with my therapist later. Sigh

Broken

I only gave this book a 5 star rating because of how much I loved the first book and also because of how much I love Eden.
I’m so broken by how this book took the most perfect RH story of all time. with the absolute perfect female character and the 4 best male characters that I have ever had the pleasure of reading about..and yes Shattered the absolute F out of it.
Pulverized their love until there was nothing left to show.

My heart literally hurts so bad for Eden most because she has had to sacrifice herself just to darn much.

She’s the strongest, most loyal, selfless and most beautiful person that I have ever read about.

She deserves the entire world but once again sacrificed herself at the end to save Luca.
Honestly she did it to save them all.

It’s just so unfair!!!!!!

Eden, Luca, Bas, Finn and Cade DESERVE BETTER and they deserve the exact love they all found during her first time travel and a way to all remain immortal together.

They should of turned her into a vampire the first time, she’s the strongest woman in the world and she would of handled the bloodlust because of her pure heart.

UGH I’m so broken right now and terrified to read the last book but I have no choice now because this pain in my chest won’t go away without some form of Justice to their story. Something that can right the terrible wrongs.

I just honestly worry and doubt the author will be able to truly give them the HEA they deserve.
To much pain, To much sadness, To much broken. There’s no way to make the love believable after that with only 1 book left to right the wrongs.
Even if they don’t remember each other and the bad stuff, I do and I feel like they got cheated out of knowing their story.
I feel like Eden deserves for those men to remember everything that she sacrificed over and over and over for them.
She is their HERO and if they never get to know that then Eden won’t get the HEA she deserves.
No I don’t want them to go back to their broken mindsets but hopefully now that they are all mentally stable in the year 2028 somehow memories of their love and all her sacrifice’s will be able to be recovered.
She deserves to be happy and have all the good for once.

I hope I am wrong because if I’m not then I’m done reading probably forever because this series has absolutely positively broken me.

Hopefully my review for the third and final book will be happier than this one.

🌶️🌶️🌶

Second read through thoughts. I had forgotten how much I grew to hate these men in the second book. I did remember the terrible pain Eden suffered. How badly Sebastian and Luca (and subsequently the wolves) hurt her. How they broke and shattered her And how devastating that ended was. To read this book, you must keep repeating “they get their HEA in the end! or else you can’t finish.

I love high angst reads. That hasn’t changed. Honestly, if books that break your heart are what you’re seeking. This series is for you.

*** Adding a potential TW for cheating (or cheating adjacent behaviors).

Wow... This was a disappointment. The first book was good and I've never ever been disappointed by Reese Rivers but... this was not it. I ended up skimming both the second and third book trying to find some positive light in it but there was none. I mean... how many times can all of them fck up y'all? I get wanting to have readers feel things, even sadness and grief, but this was straight up frustrating. Wolves mate for life but then they go sleep with other women after she "dies"? Really? I had a huge problem with all of them claiming to love her but all of their actions showing they definitely did not. Sebastian keeping her away? Luca running away? What was up with promising to be with her and find her in all centuries in the first book and then doing all this stuff? And like at the end its just 10 pages of "let us ravage you"? Nah. This was just bad weird.

I am so so disappointed. DNF after reading the wolves fucked everything in their path after Eden UNWILLINGLY went back to her era. Mates are for life, and cheating is such a turn off. No redemption for me. Luca has such a large tree stuck up his ass, and wtf is Sebastian even on?? “Don’t come back if you leave again as if it was HER FAULT. GIRL WAS MURDERED BY YOUR PSYCHO MAKER. Jesus, I’m pissed.

Book 2 of 3

💜Attempted rape of FML (not in harem)
💜 Cade and Finn are with OW during separation

This book is much darker then the first, it kinda threw me off with how different it was.

Book 1 ends with Eden ‘dying and returning to her time. She now has to figure out how the mirror works and get back to her men. She figures it out thanks to a letter from her Aunt. When she lands back in time, it is now like 100 years later (can’t remember exact time) in 1775 and in Virginia.

After the guys think Eden dies, they all go about grieving in their own way. Luca gets lost in his art and gets very emotionless and unattached, Sebastian works on keeping them all together, Finn and Cade sleep with like a 100’s(literally) of OW to get over the loss.

Their reunion is not what Eden thought it was going to be. Luca doesn’t want anything to do with her and is downright hurtful to her. He rubs it in her face that Cade and Finn slept with many women. Which honestly would hurt me too. Here I am fighting and trying to get back to my ‘mates, while they are screwing around. But they thought she died so they don’t have any reason to feel like they were wrong.

Surprising Sebastian in this for the most part was very sweet and really showed her how much he cared. Finn and Cade were the same with her like in the first book. It was Luca that had a complete personality change. Which kind of pissed me off because in the first book when Sebastian was fighting his feeling for Eden because she was human and would eventually die, Luca told him to suck it up and love her because the pain of losing her would suck, but their love would be worth it. Ok, you’re kind of being a hypocrite Luca as you ‘hate her for leaving and all that. Eden sees the pain she has caused them and promised that she wouldn’t come back when she died again, no matter if it were to be that day or 80 years later.

Anyway, this is were it turns dark. After a couple of red coats attack Eden and attempt to rape her, the guys decide to leave the village and go away to keep Eden safe and away from the war that will be starting. On the day they are about to leave, more red coats show up and Eden ends up dying. Right before she dies, Luca compels her to come back to him. This sets off a series of events where she keeps coming back to them and getting sicker and sicker as she does. Luca completely loses his mind after she dies in his arms when he compels her. Finn and Cade into their wolves and hide away from life. Sebastian is again trying to keep them all together but the wolves run and stay away, that is until she comes back the first time after dying (the second time). Sebastian, Cade and Finn all think she is losing her mind because of the mirror, but they don’t know it was because Luca compelled her. It gets to the point where they (minus Luca) are resentful of her and are just waiting for her to wither away and not come back again. She doesn’t eat, sleep or drink so she slowly wastes away to nothing because they won’t let her near Luca, who she is compelled to be beside.

Eden is able to break the cycle to save them all the heartbreak. This book was definitely depressing with not many happy moments at all. The next one is supposed to be much better and there will be a HEA.

Sorry, not sorry

No matter how much I loved the first book (and knew that Eden would get back to her guys eventually) this second book, although written well…I just couldn’t get over a few things.

**SPOILERS**

All right, sooooo I understand that Eden’s guys were devastated by her death and disappearance, and that it was only a month for Eden, but one hundred and eight years that she was gone from the guys. So yup, the guys are pretty shocked to say the least.

Here’s the thing! IT. WAS. NOT. HER. FAULT!! How the heck could they have thought she’d expect to be taken back to her time when she died? And remember it was Bas’s psycho maker’s lackey that killed her in the first place!! To blame her when she returns to them is ridiculous!! Seriously, it’s ridiculous!! Luca is a straight up a-hole, and however much I liked him in book one I hate him in book two! I mean, get off your freaking high horse!! Seriously!! Eden grieved and tried to go back! She had no idea so much time had passed! The way he behaved/behaves is egregious! And frankly, I would just say, the heck with you! Live eternally bitter and angry and an a-hole! You don’t deserve Eden.

And honestly screw the wolves!! So maybe they were the first to scent her and accept her when she returns to them, but they didn’t eighty outta the 108 years drinking and sleeping with EVERYTHING IN A SKIRT!! What?! I’m sorry, I get that they live a long time yada yada yada, and thought she was dead, yada yada yada, but they CLAIMED HER AS MATE! That means forever, even in death. The fact that Reese Rivers looked so down upon a mate mark to enable her characters to sleep around for eighty years CHEATING ON THEIR MATE (doesn’t matter if they thought she was dead), is abhorrent, and goes completely against a mate bond!

Last but not least. Bas. He “somewhat accepts her when she comes back, but won’t love her completely and AGREES WITH HER THAT IF SHE RETURNS TO HER TIME…NOT TO COME BACK TO THEM, because boohoo…he had to be the one to pick up their shattered pieces when she left.

Sorry, I wanted to love this book, but found that the “forever love was a big joke! And that vampires and wolves are fickle in their idea of love as time goes by. Also, it just made me hate her harem.

This book made me rage and want to cry. I spent most of my time reading this book pacing. First book was a cute little paranormal romance, love it. This book. this book was something else entirely. I was so stressed out reading this. I skim read the last 30% of this book because wtaf. The deterioration of all the characters was written so well I felt like I was sort of loosing my mind with them. I experienced the five stages of grief reading this. I was so frustrated for literally all of the characters and I could see the situation from all of their perspectives. Heartbreaking fr. Their entire situation was just torture. I’ve never really read a book that I’ve felt the potential of being triggered by, but this book was dark. Kindle did not show me the trigger warnings of this book, when it says trigger warnings it really does mean it wow. There was no happy ending in this book. And I’m also going to assume that the time-travel element of this series is now nil and void.

Did the ending feel a little bit rushed, maybe. Do I find myself caring? Not really. The fact that the plot of the entire two books is simply going to be forgotten by the characters is a real unsatisfied itch. I just want Sebastian to forgive and understand Eden and for Luca to be okay. Cade and Finn were so devoted to her the entire time, the fact that they think she lost her mind and withered away at the end hurts my soul. But alas, the entire situation has been erased from the sands of time.

Moss heartbreaking romance book I think I’ve ever read.

**update I just read the blurb for the next book and I am so glad that the entire situation hasn’t been forgotten. I need to heal with the characters from this situation damn. Gonna be interesting seeing if they come to realize their dreams and hazy memories are real or not and if they do realize how their relationships heal and develop from that. I’m both excited and dreading reading this next book.

Traumatic Time Travel

This is the second book in a continuing series and you need to read the first book to understand this one. There is also a cliffhanger, but I *believe* the next book is already out to mitigate that headache.

Stuck back in her present Eden finds herself trying to discover how her magic mirror works so she might return to her pack. Truly happy for the first time in her life when she was in the distant past with Cane, Finn, Sebastian and Luca, Eden finds that her aunt left her a message with her lawyer that might aid in that desire. Only when she returns to the past, she finds that her pack is changed beyond recognition.

This book is much more angst filled than the first book. It’s got fewer smouldering scenes because it’s got more emotional trauma filling the pages. The spicy scenes are still there, but much much fewer in quantity. The emotional progression of the characters is much deeper than the first book and leaves the reader tossed from pillar to post as they try to comprehend what the characters are going through. Adding time travel to emotional trauma makes for messy and unpredictable reactions.

This book is a definite change of pace from the first book, which felt a little more lighthearted. This book is anything but lighthearted and made me misty eyed a few times. I need to know what happens in the next book because the cliffhanger was a doozy!

This book gave me some big feelings. And a lot of them were heartache. I haven’t felt heartache like this since I was dumped by my fiancé (12 years ago! And I ’m happily married now to someone else). I literally screamed multiple times and wanted to punch something with how hurt I felt. I won’t lie and say I didn’t curse the author and say I hate her like a million times, cause I definitely did. I am a habitual marathoner and will usually move from one book to the next as soon as I’m done with the first, but this book. This mother fucking book broke me a bit. I couldn’t move on to the next book cause I was so damn upset. It’s been 24 hours and I’m still upset. I had to distract myself and listen to an audio book while cleaning to keep my hands busy. I dreamt about this damn book last night!!

The worst part about this, is that I’m so heart broken and mad at Reese that I almost don’t want to read the next book, how the fuck could she fix all of that and make it better? It’s like the worst miscommunication trope gets plowed over by a bigger miscommunication trope truck full of little pieces of heartache and anger. I just can’t do it.

The love that burns the hottest and shines the brightest can have the coldest and darkest end.

Ouch Reese, my heart!! 3

Book 2 of the Time After Time series will defiantly leave your heart hurting! They are all filled with so much love and turmoil that it keeps you in a constant state of sadness. There is also always a constant state of conflict. There doesn't seem to be even a short reprieve for the poor harem. By the time she fixes issues with one there's another conflict right behind.

There is also only one sex scene in the book and I'm more of a deviant than that ;), especially for a book with a harem of 4. Most of the book seemed focused on creating the sense of frustration but seemed to just be played in a loop.

As much as I wasn't a fan of book 2, I'm to invested in the characters and HAVE to continue to book 3. I am not saying by any means that book 2 wasn't good. Reese actually does a decent job, but for my type of smuttiness I needed more.

Still a huge Reese fan! <3

So I liked this one a little better than the 1st one, in terms of the pacing and developing of things. Except for her and Luca, the constant hot and cold between them before she died (the first time) really got on my nerves, also I didn’t like how the wolves had all these partners and it’s basically liked never addressed and they just pick up where they left off? And how they keep leaving Bas to deal with Luca? (They do acknowledge it towards the end though). Also why didn’t Luca just explain that he compelled her to return when he realized he loved her and it was worth it? Then they would have known how to help her. Also the fact that he did that? Bad move. But also why didn’t Bas, this super powerful vampire recognize the signs of compulsion? I guess he IS the same guy that wouldn’t believe she wasn’t a witch until he compelled the answer out of her so it tracks but I feel like that should have been one of his first thoughts to check, idk

I am still not sure what to make with this series, there are aspects I enjoyed and found different to other paranormal RH I have read. But some of it I did struggle with...Luca and Bas complete character change threw me and made me feel a little disconnected. The ending kind of got a little repetitive, and I am not sure how Bas could not have recognised the signs of compelling. I did skim over parts of the book that felt a little same-y e.g. the POV of the men got a bit repetitive every time she left/came back. Whilst it made for an interesting read, it just stunted the relationship growth and made my head spin like a yo yo.
Will likely pick up the next in the series to see how it ends, but am hoping it progresses a little. I love relationships that take a lot of hard work and aren't a fluffy, happy ever after from the moment the first meet...but am hoping for more character connection in the next book.

God please just stay away from the mirror!

I have to reinforce that. Step away from the mirror Eden!
My heart can't take it anymore. I don't like spoilers so I won't do it to anyone else.
But dammit I don't know if I can handle anymore. I want to read the next book but I'm afraid of the direction it'll go.
Can Reese can match what she's done so far? I have faith in her genius but it's going to be so so hard not to mess this up from here. I mean we are on one heck of a trajectory and this could go so many ways.
I can't believe this book and I'm kinda feeling sick to my stomach about it.
It's 3 am here and I have to know but I also need to sleep at some point because I have a headache and I'm sad and hurt but hopeful.
Beware of the binge that this series will cause.
I have a reread list for the future that this book is going on but I don't know if my damaged heart will ever really be prepared for that a second time.
