I can’t believe it! It’s finally Christmas time!
A lot has happened in the last year, including losing a few of my squad, celebrating my thirtieth birthday, and recently losing my Father, who ran the family farm.
During my extended leave, I have a decision to make. Do I take over the farm and run it myself, sell it off, or do something else with it? Mom and I have to have a serious discussion when I return home. I have to give my superiors an answer ASAP!
Another reason I’m glad to be going home, I’ll get to see my High School sweetheart, Gina Kincaid. Even though we broke up after High School, my feelings for her never quit. I wonder if she still has feelings for me or if time has stolen it?

DNF @ 29%.
This just didn’t work for me. I was incredibly bored and didn’t want to waste the other thirty minutes it would take to finish this out. It’s a second chance romance and while that certainly isn’t the authors fault, they’re my least favorite trope so there had to be some good other things to keep me interested. There wasn’t. The writing� was not great. The dialogue was cringe worthy. Just not for me.

Coming home for Charlie is bittersweet. He was not able to make it home when his father's past, but the only woman he loved is single and his is hope her feeling are the same.
Codename: Magic is a heartwarming story that is perfect for the holidays. My heart grew how Charlie looked to not only take care of his mom, the farm, but also was there for Gina, even if it meant their date was sidetracked.
Great addition to a series that brings tears to your eyes.

Part of the multi author series, Soldiers for Christmas this well-written and engaging story that will melt your heart as Charlie and Gina realise their love has never died, and their future may still be together. A great addition to this wonderful and heartfelt series.

loved it !!! love this series !!! love Charlie.. what a sweetie... love Gina... this is their story... a fast paced short story... they broken up after graduation... but, he still loved her...now, he's back !!! everything has changed... he's thirty, back from deployment... his dad died... the farm ? keep it, sell it ? what ? and Gina is here... can he have a second chance with her ?

Charlie and Gina were high school sweethearts. She went off to university and he into the military and life moved on. Charlie came home for Christmas and he and Gina met and still felt the same love and connection of all those years ago! Beautiful sweet romance with lust and love as well as a wonderful HEA

This was a cute second chance military romance. I liked the story and the characters but it could have used a bit more of a build up or a little drama it was just too cute and straight forward.

Gina and Magic broke up after graduation because of the direction their lives were going. Magic got back from deployment they met again and both still loved each other and to get together again! Great book!

Great short read!!!
Awwwwww!!!! I love this kind of second chance romance. I appreciate when the original break took place because of valid reasons and without drama. Older and wiser, these 2 find their way back to each other and onward to a HEA. Smexy scenes and sweetness included - loved it!

This was a sweet and romantic second chance at love story without drama and with a sweet HEA. Magic and Gina were high school sweethearts but mutually decided to part ways in college/military. Now eight years later they meet again... and love is still there😍😍😍

But as I have enjoyed other books in this series and liked the books description I decided to load this short story up and hoped I would like it....which I did. Charlie "Magic" Johnson is coming home for Christmas with his unit after being overseas for the last year. With eight years in the Army Charlie is having to make some decisions during his time at the family farm in Ottumwa, Iowa. While he was away his father had died and his mother has been running the farm since but that is not a plan for the long term. When he gets off the bus he hears his name being called by a familiar voice, Gina Kincaid, his high school sweetheart. When Gina and Charlie had graduated they agreed to split up as she was going to university to become a veterinarian and he was enlisting. After she had graduated she moved back home and has opened her own vet practice. Since Mr. Johnson died she has been helping Mrs. Johnson as best as she can, as they were always like family to her. So it was Mrs. Johnson who put her into service to pick up Charlie at the bus station and is playing cupid. This story is short, fast paced and an enjoyable read.
I read this book in one sitting and was satisfied throughout. I found the writing style easy to follow, the characters likeable and the storyline enjoyable. Gina and Magic were high school sweethearts until Magic joined the army/military. Years later and whilst on leave, they reconnect. Will they give love a second chance?
The chemistry between Gina and Magic is clear to see and I liked them together.
I liked the ending and the epilogue for this story.
The storyline for this book is easy to follow and it is an enjoyable read.

Charlie is heading home after a year of being deployed in Afghanistan for a year. A lot has happened in the past year, they have lost some men and his father. He and his mother have decisions to make about the farm that was run by his dad. There is also another variable, his high school sweetheart picks him up at the bus station, he realizes he still loves her after all this time.
This was a cute story, Charlie is a really nice guy, and second chance with Gina might just be what he needs for the holiday season.

This story needs to be seen by an editor or proofreader. There’s a lot of problems as far as sentence structure, punctuation, word choices. It was a frustrating read. Since it is only approximately 46 pages, I read the whole thing, and it is a cute story.
Charlie comes home for Christmas, and his ex, Gina picks him up from the bus station to drive him out to the family farm. While home, Gina and Charlie reconnect, but will their reconnection be only for the time he’s there, or will it be permanent?
Since this story is so short, I won’t give anything away. I did find some of the story to be pretty far-fetched.

I enjoyed this "Soldiers for Christmas" story. This story is about Gina and Magic. He has been through a lot in the past year. Now, on extended leave and headed home, he must make some big decisions. Plus, he may get a second chance with his high school sweet heart, the one he didn't stop having feelings for. This is such a fun read that is short, auick and fast paced. I really love the characters!

I liked reading this story. It fit in the series very well. It was a short read with a second chance at romance. However, it was just another story. Nothing stood out, making it special, in other words, it was bland, from the beginning to the end. Not bad at all, just no magic.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. Charlie returns home and decides to stay to take over the family farm and restart his relationship with his teenage sweetheart, Gina. It might have been a bit sad returning home but his life quickly improves.
