For everyone complaining about the smut scenes I have several things to say:
Im sorry that your little uwu small bean gay men didnt have the most PERFECT SEXY hot night that you'd imagine and could enjoy maybe take into consideration.....hmmm i dont know THIS IS FICTION AND LITERALLY NOTHING MATTERS???? yes that wine extra was a little weird but ... your reading mxtx... you westerners please stop acting and overexarggerating how HORRIBLE AND HOW IT MADE ME CRY!!!

There was more love and trust built between Shen Qingqiu and Luo Binghe because of the whole proposal extra and it was actually kinda cute, you actually get to see a different side of sqq aswell as lbh calling him his "wife"
Along with sqq (aftermath) calling lbh his HUSBAND?? ARE WE JUST GONNA GLOSS OVER THAT???
Sure they may not be the most perfect couple ever and they may be a little mentally ill but what did you expect?? Life isnt easy and perfect either so get over yourself if you came for realism and perfectness in mxtx books thats your cue to leave because obviously you went into this blind ??? okay im out

Edit: for those complaining about binghe being a cry baby and spoiled, let him be. In case you FORGOT, he had a pretty truamatic exprience this WHOLLE series, no time to rest ? let the man freaking cry, y'all r so annoying

This collection of SVSSS short stories runs the gamut from PWP to a full-on novelette featuring a pair who didn't get a lot of time at center stage in the main story.
Since I can't think of a way to contextualize this book as a whole, I'll rely on bullet points this time around.
- As usual, there are touches of true poignancy or pathos right alongside comedic ridiculousness. It was brought home here much more than in the main story, that the "original" Shen Qingqiu's .
- I really liked both the story featuring Zhuzhi-Lang and Tianlang-Jun, and the novelette showing us how Shang Qinghua and Mobei-Jun came together as partners... or something. In SVSSS, author MXTX is great with this kind of push-me pull-you relationship, people building connection with each other in strange and not particularly healthy, but also affecting ways.
- Madam Meiyin is a fun character who I don't think we ever saw in the main series. That's too bad, because she would have caused (even more) humor and chaos. We do see more of Liu Qingge and Luo Binghe's snarling rivalry over Shen Qingqiu, which I can't get enough of. (I am inordinately fond of a love triangle with a stoic rival and an overtly emotional one.)
- The sex scene in v. 3 was dreadful. The ones in this volume--and there are a few--are no better. They read more like a ravaging than a ravishing, and were weirdly visceral and unpleasant to read. If they were intended to be funny, the humor completely missed me. I do find it appealing that LBH is both a weepy disaster and , still, making that spoiled bit so ironclad is a M/M trope I don't care for.
- As has been true of the entire series thus far, the illustrations are great, perfectly expressing both the humor and emotion in the story. Velinxi's LBH is my head canon. (once again, forgive the godawful reproduction. I take photos from the physical books with my phone.)
My favorites were: "Fighting Succubi," "Bamboo Branch Poem," and "Airplane's Fortuitous Encounter." I'm sorry to say that the SQQ/LBH stories in this volume are slight and skippable. Whenever I should reread SVSSS--and I can well imagine myself doing so in a few years--I'll likely just read those favorites.
It's time to bid farewell to SQQ and LBH, and move on to Heaven Official's Blessing. I'm glad I took a chance on this story when I was initially inclined not to. The imagination on display is brilliant and at times undisciplined, and it's fannish in an intense and endearing way. Don't let my rating for this volume of short stories deter you if you have any interest at all in MXTX's work. The main story is a gem and I'm happy that I read it. Three and a half stars, rounded down.

Yay, the no-tricks, all-treats book!! ? As the main story of The Scum Villain ended in volume 3, this one contains all of the extras for the series. Having the physical books on my shelf really opened my eyes to how short'n'sweet this series is (cough especially when compared to Heaven Official's Blessing cough).
The short stories here range anywhere from hilarious, to steamy/spicy, to (surprisingly?) poignant. If you didn't know about the MoShang ship before, you're about to be obsessed with them lol. ?
I basically read this entire volume in a day. I rarely do that but reading this book was like eating popcorn to me.

My whole review got deleted as the app crashed ? I¡¯m sad now. Let me just wallow for a bit and come back and write one tomorrow. It had been a while since I wrote such a lengthy review too ?

To anyone who says SVSS is not sad, did you guys read this volume? Did you guys read these extras? Clearly not. These extras were definitely the part that MXTX added to make sure the readers received the same amount of heartbreak TGCF did. Except rather than a happy ending, the characters who went through hardships ended up sad. First and foremost we have our dear Zhuzhi-lang. His life's story is one of the saddest and we can now see why he was fiercely loyal to Shen Qing Qua and Tang Lang Jun. His reasoning behind it was beyond sad. Especially how he remained loyal to his last breath. Likewise, TLJ's story was just as sad. He truly was not a villain. He was merely a very curious demon. I am glad at the end all the misunderstanding was resolved yet at the end he ended all alone. I really do hope that Luo Bing He will find it in him to forgive his father and maybe make amends. He at least deserves this.
The last few chapters were back to their usual comedic aspect. In a way, it was quite apparent that Shang Qing Hua and Mobei-Jun would have something between them but it was quite hilarious how they built it up. In the end, we did not receive a definite answer but still, we managed to at least witness a bit of change in their interactions. It will continue being the cat-mouse game between them with SQH being embarrassingly subservient just to save his own skin.
After the end of all of this am I in any way close to giving this book a better rating? No. I am still in the firm belief that MXTX falls in the mid-level in terms of danmei authors and that authors such as Shishi and Priest are much better at getting their stories across. This also could be due to my personal preference. But SQQ definitely is in the top spots as one of the funniest characters in the danmei world. He amazed me to no end with his witty comebacks and his banter with The System.
So I shall end my review for this series with this review. I believe it will be a while till I read this book again or ever but I want to thank all the translators and others involved in this project for finally bringing to us danmei fans the official English translation. Thank you, you're doing gods work!!

4,5 'bingqiu in love' stars
I don't know how to write the review for this vol. I want to talk about all the extras but there's too many of them and tbh I started this so long ago, I forgot half the things I've wanted to comment *sigh* anyway, let's just start somewhere and then I'll probably update it from time to time. I mean, I already do that anyway with other reviews, so I guess, you'll just have to bear with constant updates, lol
First, I'm gonna fangirl about how cute and adorable Luo Binghe and Shen Qingqiu are together!! Everyone who says otherwise or that SQQ doesn't really love LBH, just shut up!! Yes, they are a little weird but they are still so precious together and Shen Qingiu is just as much in love with Luo Binghe, as he is with his Shizun.

This is one of my favorite quotes and it made me so emotional. I don't know why but it was way more special than just saying 'I love you'. SQQ is not exactly verbal in showing his care, so seeing his awkward confession was really sweet ?
And they got married! ? LBH proposing was another favorite scene of mine. I have so many amazing quotes from this chapter, I'll have to choose which ones to include but I think Shen Qingqiu calling Binghe his husband will be the winner ??
I know a lot of readers doesn't like de-aged trope but I find it so funny and adorable (yes, Hua Cheng and Xia Sini too ??). Luo Binghe in all his "murderous" glory, while being in a body of a 5 y/o, I laughed so much ?? and SQQ being so confused at first but then immediately adopting a mother role. I can totally see him spoiling his kids so much ?

Luo Binghe's breathing was a little unsteady as he held Shen Qingqiu's waist, a faint flush dyeing his cheeks. "Shizun..." he stammered, "what's gotten into you tonight?"
Shen Qingqiu leaned down and said into his ear, "Tonight, I feel like... I like you a great deal."

With a red mark across one half of his face from his own arm, he squinted at Shen Qingqiu's half-dressed form across the bed and reached for him in 'give me a hug' gesture. "Shizun..."

Only the extra chapters were included in this book, which allowed us to finish writing another MXTX book. Even though this series isn't my favourite, I read the entire book because it was MXTX's debut and I'll read anything she writes.

I can't believe I just finished my first danmei series. I'm glad we got these extras as the story doesn't feel complete without them! My favourite story is the one about Shang Qinghua and Mobei Jun - we find out more about their background stories and how their relationship progresses. So many feelings!
Also these stories clearly show that Shen Qingqui is ace/demisexual, and you can pry that from my cold dead hands.

Why did he need to teach another person how to fuck him? Having to act the master even in this situation! Shen Qingqiu truly wanted to light an entire Cang Qiong Mountain¡¯s worth of candles for himself.

Also, if my friends would not have raved about this, I would still have picked this one up because I have seen many memes and illustrations that just screamed - THIS IS YOUR VIBE!!! Btw, this volume is all the extras - a collection of stories about our main duo and other side characters. I'm bit sad that it ended but as I had such a weird yet amazing time reading the series, I'll pick this up for a re-read again ? Now, on to the quotes and art ????

They are awkward, inexperienced, chaotic, lovable, silly and they are perfect for each other ? For those who were moaning about bad sex scenes - hello?? Did you expect them to be pros lol? Have you read vol 1-3? Please ?
¡°I¡¯ll tell you the truth, then! I¡¯ve endured you for too long, you pampered, spoiled young master! You vile-tempered demonic second-gen!¡± This was a monstrous degree of audacity. Mobei-Jun¡¯s face was full of disbelief.
MoShang - if their chapters were not indication to potential ship, I don't know what to say to you. This user from the photo (illustration from the novel) said this perfectly haha The whole

And finally, Tianlang-Jun and Zhuzhi-Lang. I was glad that we got their chapters too. Too see that TJ was actually such a lovable cutie, who didn't hate humans before the unfortunate events. And ZL is forever his loyal follower. They are a peculiar duo - sweet yet hella scary. Also, RIP TJ - you would have loved Kindle ?

Wow. Just Wow.
This wow is for the entire story of Luo Binghe and Shen Qingqiu. I've never run across a more chaotic, awkward, strange, oblivious, clingy couple than Luo and Shen. They were a train wreck from beginning to ending and I loved every second of it. They don't fit the mold of any couple I've read before, which will probably make them not to everyone's taste, but I do love them. Thank you, MXTX, for the hours of entertainment. I can't wait to finish reading your other two books.

This was me realising Oh. That's why it's rated 17+. This was a very, very mixed experience for me. Over all, this series is an easy five star read for me - as an individual book, this final volume wouldn't have received its four stars would I not already love these characters.
This is a collection of short stories which show scenes from before, during and after the main plot of the first three volumes. On one hand, I am not a big fan of short stories and would prefer them the be incorporated into the original plot. On the other hand, thank goodness not all of this was in the main plot!
Some stories I really enjoyed - just like the main series, they had me laughing myself stupid while others were simply heartbreaking. It was nice to see what was going on with some of the other characters during the main plot and it was just all good and fun shenanigans. Some of the stories were a bit dull and I could have done without. But the bottom line is: things get very graphic. I'm not the biggest fan of graphic scenes though I can deal with them if I like the characters and plot which is luckily the case here. Nonetheless, had I not already loved these characters from the previous books, I don't think I would have enjoyed this book as there's quite a bit focus on sex over plot.

I officially finished this series and this book..lowly kinda feeling emotional right now ? This series has been my emotional support for the past few months and honestly it¡¯s so sad to just let go of them, bingqiu will always be my fav couple out of everyone, mark my words!
I love Binghe¡¯s Clinginess to shizun here, and shizun just complying bc Binghe is just so smoll and cute, the wine scene was wild ? Binghe my kinky baby ?
Its great how this book let us see more into the side characters pov and their stories, it makes readers, in a way sympathize with the characters more and understand their actions in the main story. One downside to it is that once you read the side stories you will feel extremely sad, just sadness for all the canon folders, even sadder if your fav character is said canon folder¡?

After the dark and twisted storylines in the previous volumes, these extras were a breath of fresh air. It was so fluffy and sweet.
Shen Qingqui and Luo Binghe
They actually have a healthy relationship now, which I¡¯m glad for. They¡¯re domestic life, where they live together, and Luo Binghe makes meals for Shen Qingqui, is adorable. They're just adorable in general. Luo Binghe really went from powerful, terrifying Demon Lord to happy, obedient little househusband and I love that.
Shang Qinghua and Mobei-Jun
Airplane Shooting Towards the Sky¡¯s extras were hilarious. He¡¯s the funniest character in SVSSS by far. Also lucky. Man literally wrote the man of his dreams into his book, transmigrated into it, and got to meet the character he¡¯s head over heels for. This chapter made me fall in love with MoShang even more.
Shen Qingqui and Liu Qingge
Their friendship is everything to me and I¡¯m happy we got to see more of it. Liu Qingge throughout all the volumes is just so protective and just an absolute King.
Zhuzhi-Lang and Tianlang-Jun
I¡¯m still depressed over Zhuzhi-Lang¡¯s death. He was just a dorky little sweetheart and he deserved better. Tianlang-Jun and Zhuzhi-Lang¡¯s first meeting was sweet. The comparison of what Tianlang-Jun and Shen Qingqui means to Zhuzhi-Lang made me want to bash my head into the wall.
Yue Qingyuan
This section is only dedicated to this angel because the original flavour Shen Qingqui is a dick and we¡¯re gonna brush him aside. I have nothing to say besides that I love Yue Qingyuan with my whole heart.

I enjoyed this a lot with the exception of the chapters revolving around Bingqiu. I adore the side characters, but I can't get behind the main couple at all. I'm not sure if the sex scenes were supposed to be played for laughs or what, but I really wish they'd been omitted!
I expected this after book #3, so why did I decide to get this book after all? Well, while browsing AO3, I discovered the joy that is Moshang.
I adore weaselly Qinghua! I wish we'd gotten even a tiny glimpse of how Qinghua and Mobei Jun's relationship improved after the described events. Or even whether Qinghua's revived career was successful!
Back into the depths of AO3 I go...

it's a bit of a mixed bag, as most short story books are, but I loved all the ones with Luo Binghe and Shen Qingqiu :) They have such a unique romance dynamic so their interactions are always fun to read

Okay, I have finally finished this after getting extremely behind in my uni work oops. Anywayyyy, I am not a smut girly so quite a bit of this book was quite frankly traumatizing to my eyes, even when I skipped over the deed they had to talk about it (specifically that one chapter near the end my god). My favorite parts in this book were the ones from Shang Qinghua POV surprisingly, but I am so sad that we didn't get to see his relationship blossom at all. Are he and Mobei-jun even a couple? I couldn't really tell because it was sorta implied in one of the books but it also could've just been something I wrongly interpreted. I think the series didn't really need this additional volume of short stories but I did enjoy them enough to keep it on my shelf, just not as much as I did for the author's other series extra novels.

This volume is purely extra chapters but they are equal parts hilarious, spicy, heartwarming and heartbreaking. MXTX does not miss, not even with a debut series and I am going to miss BingQiu so much now that the series is officially completely published.
