Which is why suddenly becoming a girlfriend and having all her secrets revealed is somewhat of a culture shock. Luckily, her new mate is a General, a King, and a demon with a beast in his soul. Brax has just discovered he's been living a lie. The angst and the grief of the past year was unnecessary - some of it anyway. But at least his trip into Emo-ville led him to his sexy, violent new mate. So it was all worth it. Still, they now have quite the to-do list.
First, they need to track down the owner of Sabre's old assassin den, question him with lots of pointy things until he bleeds, sever the soul-deep connection he has with Sabre as her 'master', and figure out why the douche-canoe was so invested in overthrowing the throne. Second, they must uncover who is behind the conspiracy to eradicate the line of Cerberus so Brax’s older brother, Mikhail, can return from hiding and take his rightful place as King. And third? They need to not get dead doing it.

Well loved characters continue to fight the conspiracy and bring new things to light.

I am shocked at how much I longed for this book. I read the first one and waited and waited for news of the second one. Then there was nothing for the longest time and I was so dejected, just so let down. Then out of nowhere, the second book was going to come out in a few days?!!! What??
I was flabbergasted and I mostly forgot the first book except knowing I liked it a lot and that it was incomplete and I absolutely had to continue reading the series, no doubt about it.
Here we get our characters all bigger and more badass than ever. All of them stood out in their own way and the cast of this series has such a striking presence, from street urchins to the different royalties. Our main female lead Sabre is as hard-headed, elegant, lethal and overprotective as ever. Our main male lead Brax is as fierce and determined as ever, so is our lovable and deathly adorable Styx. The side gang has increased to include some wonderful additions and I wholeheartedly approve.
Now I will be diligently tracking the release of the third book. Reluctant Rebel here we come!

One of my favourite reads this year. Loved Reluctant Assassin.
Continuing on from Reluctant King Sabre and Brax are still on the hunt for the ones responsible for killing the King and his son.
Sabre is now wanted and there is a hefty price on her head.
She is starting to have doubts on her abilities as an assassin and her relationship with Brax.
The two have to overcome Sabre’s doubts, fears and insecurities.
Revelations will shock them to their core.
And that epilogue 😂. One of the best ever.
Love love love all the characters and now some more to get to know. Simply sensational.

This more was more than worth the wait!
We get to see the after effects of Reluctant King’s bombshell and it’s glorious.
The characters are growing and changing. The humour is on point, just as you’d expect from any Montana Ash book. The steam is scorching. The story just grips you and refuses to let go.
In true Montana fashion, the twist will have you sitting there confused, with your mouth hanging open, wondering how it happened� and it’s fabulous.
I can’t recommend this book and this series enough. Looking forward to book 3.

An excellent fantasy tale, rich and deep and replete with characters and an utterly tangible world for the reader to occupy in silent witness.
Its a skillful author who can take you through the full gamut of emotions and turn them on a dime. Intrigue and fight scenes, unearthly powers and belly laughs.

Good book
This is book 2 in the Reluctant Royal series, and it is a awesome read! I like the characters. The storyline rocks, and keeps you pulled in. Can't wait for the next book.
