Sadie Matthews has been unemployed for way too long so she's desperate. Seeing a vacancy for a personal assistant, she figures it can't be that hard. Yet, things aren't what they seem. Sure, she's miles away from home with a moody boss and his feisty house manager but there's something else.
Once she satisfies her curiosity, though, there really is no going back to the life she knew. Does she even want to? Maybe this is where she was always meant to be.
Rianne Burnett invites you to explore some of the interesting aspects of sexuality.
In her books, she seeks to take the reader on a journey into what sex and intimacy can look like in a speculative context. Whether you're interested in the supernatural or the paranormal, sex is meant to be enjoyed and Rianne is more than happy to take you on that wild ride.
She hopes you like reading her stories because she certainly loved writing them!
Short, sweet, and low angst. Sadie was not afraid of getting it on with her boss, even after the werewolf reveal. I liked their dynamic together and that she was assertive. I wish we’d gotten more background on both characters to invest in them more, but it was good for the length it was.
Spice: 3/5
Triggers: power imbalance (boss and employee), job loss
TW - financial insecurity, sc working in palliative care (mentioned), panic attack
CW - hand necklaces
Tropes - paranormal, workplace (boss x PA), rich af MMC
Representation - Black MCs
Dick ❌cock ❌manhood
This was barely a romance 😬
Title is also misleading imo, there wasn't really anything primal about it. It's good if you need something to read in between books / while waiting for a release 🤷🏽♀

Quick read with low stakes romance and low low angst. It’s a fun story with some sweetness to the human/assistant and werewolf/boss trope that perhaps hinted at bonds and fated mates, but sadly didn’t dive into it in the end.
Lots of great ideas and interesting side characters with some very tame spice, less erotic and more sweet and direct, if that makes sense. The wording is also very tame if not reminiscent of years past, which was fine but I know some would find cringy (manhood, sheath, etc)
Overall I greatly enjoyed it and give it a healthy 3.5 rating!
Cute and short. This is labeled as erotica but it’s just like every other paranormal romance. It’s not super spicy. Medium spicy? It’s got scenes but they aren’t highly described so to me, even with that, I wouldn’t label it as erotica, but what do I know!?
I totally appreciate having main characters that choose NOT to rip clothing off cause it’s hard to replace. Thank you, author!!
This was a solid monster romance. The main female character is desperate for a job, so she takes one to work for a wealthy scion of a famous fabulously wealthy family with at least a building named after them. She stays in a guest house on the family estate and works in the mansion during the day. The housekeeper is a bit creepy. Our girl is told on no uncertain terms to go outside after dark. Of course curiosity gets the best of her, and she does not follow the order. Mayhem ensues. Not really. The book is quite tame, though there is an open door once she and the male main character get together.
The book is told from a narrators POV about Sadie, down on her luck fantasy/paranormal writer, looking for a new job as she recently lost hers and is running low on savings to get by. Sadie finds an ad for personal assistant and applies -- what does she have to lose?
I loved the story idea and POC representation with the main characters: Wealthy CEO (werewolf) and his new assistant (human) living together in close quarters and fall in love. I think the underlining theme is also about acceptance of others thou they may be different, love is love kind thing. Loved the descriptions of some of the scenes, but others didn't quite make much sense. I'm not too sure I enjoyed this book, maybe if it had been longer with more character build-up, I would have enjoyed it more, example why Sadie didn't respond to the house manger's magic very well. It was little hard to digest the one scene when Sadie pleasures Cooper in his werewolf form. I also had a hard time understanding how Sadie could have more issues with whether or not the house manager liked her than with accepting that her new boss was a werewolf -- maybe I missed something.

This was an easy read, but I had some issues with continuity (clothing appearing and disappearing, location changing suddenly, etc) as well as with the overall storyline. It felt like we were building to something when the characters just fell into bed together without further discussion. This book has a good concept behind it, but I would have liked more character development and tension. I mean, it’s a werewolf story and they didn’t even fuck in the woods!

I avidly look out for Ms Burnett's stories. So I was surprised to see this one came out months ago and I missed it. A joy to read like the others. I love how she spins supernatural with your every day romance. Cooper and Sade's chemistry is fire. My only negative is that this is a short story.
It’s a fun story, with a boss/employee trope as well as close proximity and nice spice. It’s very light as a story so there is little to no angst and no big conflict to solve. I liked both Cooper and Sadie and their romance felt cute and fun.
There are definitely hints towards some fated mates action as well as a possible transformation for Sadie but it’s not explored deeper.
She had a secret desire to write a fantasy paranormal book but had to work. While she was out of a job for 3 months she used up her savings. She got an interview just as her money ran out. She ended up in a position that was just like her book!
While I did enjoy this book, I did find that for me it just wasn't as engaging as it possibly could have been. It felt very rushed which made it a bit confusing to me but it also just felt like there wasn't really a plot to the book
🐺🔥🥵this book is quick and VERY 🥵🔥🐺 if you're looking for a short story with lots of smut n a some plot... this is your book! I was hooked all the way to the end🥵🔥🐺
