Lisa Phillips is a USA Today and top ten Publishers Weekly bestselling author of over 80 books that span Harlequin’s Love Inspired Suspense line, independently published series romantic suspense, and thriller novels. She’s discovered a penchant for high-stakes stories of mayhem and disaster where you can find made-for-each-other love that always ends in happily ever after.
Lisa is a British ex-pat who grew up an hour outside of London and attended Calvary Chapel Bible College, where she met her husband. He’s from California, but nobody’s perfect. It wasn’t until her Bible College graduation that she figured out she was a writer (someone told her). Lisa is a worship leader, tea aficionado, and dog lover of two crazy Airedales.
Whoa! High octane from start to finish. of the gripping page-turner (or avid listener, in my case) variety. Intense -- both in the suspense and romance department. Well written, excellently plotted and just edge of your seat addictive reading from page one. Plus there's wonder dog Nico, tracking K-9 extraordinaire to add to my bibliophile bliss. I am a huge fan of K-9 stories! Especially within the suspense genre. Lesa Wilson's narration held me captive to the very last word.
Enjoy inspirational suspense? Thus author has one for you that will tick all the boxes. How about running from killers in the woods? Yep. And the action moves on from there. And there is a dog!!! Grab this one.
My thanks to the publisher for a copy of this book.
Wilderness Hunt by Lisa Phillips in one non-stop action ride! Police Officer Kelly Wayne and her dog Nico try to track down a missing witness. But when she finds Ethan Harrington, he has amnesia and has no idea who he is or why he’s running from men with guns in the woods.
I love a story where nothing is as it seems. There were so many plot twists I had whip lash. Kelly and Ethan make a great couple right from the start, but the odds are stacked against them since they are being chased the whole book by men with big guns. If you love fast-paced suspense, complex plots, and plot twists galore, look no further than Wilderness Hunt.

This book could have been so good. Good idea for a book....not enough development and I felt like the book kept jumping around, which would be ok, but it was not done in a good way.
Also, the main male only referred to Nico by name 1 time the whole book. Otherwise she was just dog....he didn't have a problem with dogs so I just didn't get that.
"Wilderness Hunt" is a Christian romantic suspense novel. When Kelly was removed from an undercover assignment gathering evidence against a mafia boss, she moved to a rural area in Montana to become a K9 officer. Determined to prove her worth, she and her K9 set out to find a plane crashed in the wilderness carrying a federal witness. To her surprise, it's the police officer that she worked with undercover. The bad guys think he's not only a vital witness but knows the location of some missing mafia money. His brother Ethan was also on the plane along with at least one corrupt federal marshal. So all of them were wandering in the wilderness, hunted by thugs who want the money. Then it got even more complex. Kelly and Ethan had to sort it all out.
Ethan didn't know who to trust except Kelly, who's only worked to rescue him. Since she was involved in the undercover case, she's also in danger. Lots of people were out to hurt them in pursuit of the money, including some people who ought to be protecting them. I appreciated that Kelly was a competent cop the entire story, though she was injured and needed Ethan to help watch her back. Ethan's an ex-marine, so he's able to help protect them when his concussion wasn't messing with his skill. They generally got long well and appreciated each other's skill and support. They came to care about each other and wanted to try at a relationship after the current suspense was done. There was no sex or bad language. Overall, I'd recommend this enjoyable romantic suspense.

Wilderness Hunt by Lisa Phillips was filled with mystery and romance that are unpredictable until the last page. It will grip readers long past when they should put the book down. Recommended to readers of contemporary mysteries
The author did a great job of keeping me guessing and trying to figure out who was a good guy or a bad guy.

Enjoyed this new thriller!! Ethan and Kelly......well, they're just amazing together! I enjoyed their story. Lots of twists and turns that made me keep turning the pages. I wasn't one bit disappointed! I finished this read in a couple of hours it was so good! Many inspirational messages to help Ethan and Kelly through their case. Yes in a few places there are some nail biting scenes that will make your heart beat a little faster but it's all worth it! Nico is the best though. He's my true hero! I really loved him. He was great! 5 stars for a job well done! I highly recommend! My thanks for a copy of this book. I was NOT required to write a positive review. All opinions expressed are my own.
Really enjoyed this one. There was plenty going on to keep me hooked till the very end. I enjoyed the characters and how this book was clean. There are plenty of moments that mention faith which is sometimes a put off for me but it wasn't too bad I think. I enjoyed following along as they figure out how to keep Nico safe while he has that amnesia going on. This was just such a fun read and recommend any suspense book lovers out there to check this book out.
Officer Kelly and her K-9 dog Nico track down a witness when the plane carrying the witness crashes in the wilderness. Upon finding the witness, they discover that Ethan has amnesia and can't remember who he is or why the bad guys are after him. This story was so good and action packed, and the story plot had enough twists and turns that kept me guessing. A must read.
Kelly and her dog are out for search and rescue of a federal witness when the plane carrying him and the protec5detail went down in the rugged Montana forest. Will he be found alive or will the criminals find and kill him before he can testify? Read this to find out!
I didn’t read anywhere in the synopsis or otherwise that this was a religious thriller (if that’s even a genre?) and I failed to note the cover. Not sure why this is labeled “inspirational”—just say Christian. No need to be vague. Really did not appreciate the “God did this and “God made this happen because—no, “he didn’t. Circumstances dictated the events—it’s called cause and effect. I never would’ve picked this up if I knew religion was present and that God was for some reason used as an excuse for totally normal and practical events happening.
The writing was subpar and really difficult to untangle at times. It was awkward, and I often couldn’t tell who “he was—Ethan? Brett? The chief? Her dad? One of the many O’Callaghans? Neither could I tell who “she was—either Kelly or Nico, because there weren’t very many other female characters. The lack of differentiation was confusing and irritating.
Kelly and Ethan’s relationship was barely that of acquaintances, and they didn’t spend all that much time together, but for some reason they seemed to believe there was a “deep connection and confessed their love by the end. I didn’t feel any romance or chemistry between them, not least because most of their feelings were told to us rather than shown.
The plot was a simple one, and yet the way it unfolded was unnecessarily complex and hard to follow. This book took me almost a month to read because I was just straight up bored for a lot of it. Not to mention by the end, I was pretty fed-up with the police’s total incompetence in handling the case. Aside from Kelly, all anyone did was get shot/injured or turn out to be a mole.

this is a page turning story to the end. officer kelly sees the smoke from a plan crash and her and her dog go to see what happened when they get there they are shot at and find a man that cannot remember anything. then they are attacked again finaly he getts to the hospital and then someone tries to kill him there, if you like suspense and animals you will want to read the story very good well written i was given a copy by net galley but this is an honest review
I thoroughly enjoyed this latest installment in the K-9 Search+Rescue series. Office Kelly Wayne and her K-9 partner, Nico, are on the job searching for a missing witness. A plane has crashed carrying a federally protected witness, and it is their job to find the witness. While searching she finds Ethan Harrigan. He is injured and does not even remember his name. They are literally on the run on for their life as they dodge bullets from a family of criminals who have no problem killing anyone. The action was turbo charged with no time for rest for the characters or me, as the reader! The plot twists just kept coming as well. I would think that I had everything all figured out, and then another twist would add to the mystery and suspense. I love books with K-9 units, and Nico was just loveable. It is readily apparent that both the heroine and hero belonged together from the time that they met. This is a book about betrayal, corruption and greed with plenty of surprises. Suspense lovers will enjoy this book immensely. It is a one sitting book because you will not be able to put it down once you start reading.
Thank you to the author for this ARC. I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Kelly doesn't know who to trust. She certainly can't trust Ethan as he betrayed her. But she's on a mission to protect him. Ethan doesn't remember who he is. As he has flashbacks into his memory, he doesn't remember things as they have been told to him. Kelly and Ethan have to put all that aside as they try to stay alive. They have been betrayed on all sides.
If you enjoy a good mystery, you'll enjoy this. All is not as it seems.

“Wilderness Hunt by Lisa Phillips is part of the K-9 Search and Rescue miniseries.
Starting over in a new town and a new police department, K-9 handler Kelly Wayne wants to prove her worth. To do that, she believes she has to find the downed plane and the protected witness that was on board. She doesn’t count on having to face her past at the same time. Ethan Harrigan, a passenger on the plane, is injured and suffering from amnesia. The one thing he knows for certain is that Kelly and her K9, Nico, are there to help him, not hurt him. As his memory returns, Ethan vows to help Kelly find the truth about the plane crash and about her past so they can have a future together.
“Wilderness Hunt has plot twists and jaw-dropping surprises, so if you love the romantic suspense genre, read Lisa Phillips.
This is a Christian, clean, suspense romance that keeps the reader wondering who are the good guys and who are the bad ones. Officer Kelly Wayne had her career almost destroyed by her former undercover partner while working in Chicago. Moving to where her father lives, she is now an officer with Nico, her K-9 partner. When a plane crashes with a witness under the protection of the Feds, she finds Ethan Harrington with amnesia. She believes he’s the man that ruined her career. But is he? As the danger intensifies, in which the Mafia is after them, more questions than answers pile up. As does the attraction between Ethan and Kelly. This is an action packed story that keeps the reader on their toes. I was entrusted a copy of this book by Netgalley and Harlequin. The opinions expressed are solely my own.
Like Lisa Philips other books, this one is a thriller right to the end. It sets a good pace and continues to keep going the way it started. There were two main mysteries to the story - one for each of the characters, which added interest and investment in the characters.
This is a clean read and it includes a dog - what more could you want? I recommend reading this book and the others that Lisa has written. I haven't read a book I've disliked so you can't go wrong!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This was a really good romantic suspense! When our heroine Officer Kelly Wayne, comes on the scene she is struggling with her past, her new life and her faith. Teamed with her K-9 Nico she finds herself on hunt for plane crash survivors and finds more danger than she bargained for. Many twists and turns in this face paced story about finding the truth and love along with a renewed faith.

A plane crash, a twin situation, and a forest full of “bad guys. Officer Kelly and her K-9 Nico must protect a witness and unravel who can be trusted. Memory loss adds to the confusion.
Kelly and Ethan can only trust each other and the delightful Nico. My first read from this author and I really enjoyed the style, the pace of action and the character. Labeled as “Inspirational, which I found to be tastefully done, as an addition to the story not a distraction.
I am voluntarily leaving my honest review of this book

4.5 stars. Officer Kelly Wayne and her K-9, Nico must find the federal witness before anything bad can happen to him. When things go wrong it seems like nothing is as she thought. She must rely on Ethan Harrigan, Nico and she is not sure who else is trustworthy. This book is full of mystery, suspense, romance and so much more. I was given a copy of this book for my honest opinion.
Lisa Phillips is one of my favorite romantic suspense authors and she delivered another winner with Wilderness Hunt. I definitely recommend this book. My thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for my advance ebook. This is my unbiased review.
Plenty of intrigue with mafia and police FBI and assorted characters. plus a well trained k9 dog and their partner. Handsome twins, witness protection program and a budding romance. Lots to love.
Wilderness Hunt a Love Inspired Suspense novel by Lisa Phillips. Officer Kelly Wayne and her K-9 partner, Nico, charge on to the scene in the Montana forest trying to reach a plane crash carrying a federal witness when everything goes wrong. From the beginning this green officer is determined to show herself and prove to her new-ish chief she and the department's lone K-9 are worth his investment. When she and Nico run in to trouble with every direction she turns it becomes unclear whether her mission will be successful.. Enter Ethan Harrington. Plagued with amnesia after the plane crash he doesn't know where he is or why. Suddenly Kelly realizes nothing is as it seems. I enjoyed this story with all of it's twists and turns. I like stories that incorporate furry friends and the adventure our lives take with them. This LIS kept my attention and made me wonder how it would end. It definitely kept me guessing. It could be due to the early copy I read but I struggled a bit with the transitions throughout the story. There were times it seemed I was in the middle of an entirely different thought that seemed somewhat oddly placed. This story holds a different rhythm than what I'm used to from Phillips but it is the first LIS title I've read of hers so that may account for the difference. I did expect to dog to play a more central role in the storyline since it's a K-9 Search and Rescue title. While Nico is one of the main characters I was suprised by her role and connections throughout the story. I look forward to reading more from this author. Thank you to Harlequin and NetGalley for the opportunity to review this book!
