The premise is so interesting! Sophie Delfino and David Strong are forced into partnering to teach a sensual yoga class when Sophie's sister, Daphne, and David's best friend, Chris, who are married to each other, couldn't.
Sophie's been fantasizing about David for the last ten years, starting when she first saw his photo when Daphne showed her a photo of David and Chris. Now she gets to see him up close and personal for a Kama Sutra-inspired couples' yoga class.
David has a type–tall, blonde, and as uninterested in commitment as he is. Sophie's obviously everything his type is not. But she's interesting, funny, and has the most beautiful eyes he's ever seen. Sophie wants to sleep with him, but he knows she's not a one-night kind of girl. Especially since she's a virgin. But Sophie is pretty persuasive, and when she wants something, she'll do her best to get it.
I love Sophie! She's an interesting girl; tiny yet confident and headstrong. When she's not being crazy with her yo-yo attitude, she's kind, thoughtful and charming. To be honest though, it was kind of weird she's so enthusiastic about sex when she's never watched porn before. She's read about it, what with the Kama Sutra and other books to help her teach the class. But I dunno, maybe that's just me.
And David. Hmm. What can I say about David? When the book first started, I pictured David as a fuccboi™–he sleeps around, prefers one night stands over long-term commitments, and is more interested in legs and breasts than anything else. But it was interesting to see who he really is and why he's who he is. It was also sweet to see him open up to Sophie and the possibility of something more with her. He loves control, and he's thoughtful, although he misguidedly does things out of his care and concern for Sophie.
While I loved the slow build going on between the two, I couldn't help but roll my eyes at their first time together. Sophie's a virgin and David's a huge guy, yet their first time went on without a hitch. More than without a hitch; she pretty much hit the big O in a snap. David is 6'5. 6'5. I'm guessing he has big feet. And you know what they say about big feet.
Reading the lessons was interesting, to say the least. They didn't focus on just the positions; it's a bit of a foreplay, with touching and yoga exercises to help their flexibility. I might have
I found the last few parts involving David's dad and stepmother unnecessary. There's a lot of scheming, and a lot of scheming behind the scheming involved. The story would have worked well even without it. And it felt like it was added as an afterthought, since it was already in the 80-90% mark.
This story is told in third person POV, but still focuses on either characters' perspectives. So even though we don't get to get inside their head, we still get a glimpse of what they're thinking or how they're seeing it.
Still, over all, I enjoyed reading this book. There were a lot of sweet moments, and I loved seeing them fall for each other. I was definitely grinning the whole way through the epilogue.
If you're a fan of a slow burn friends-to-FWB-to-lovers with a hint of a forbidden romance, you might enjoy Compromising Positions.

I would give this a 6 star if I could!!
Wow, this was am absolute joy to read!!! The love story evolved beautifully.
Sophie was a incredible heroine that was sweet, strong, determined and very much in love with David (okay a lot of in lust too). How she just saw his true heart and never gave up on him but just believed and loved him was beautiful to behold. And David, wow, hot!!! At first wasn't too sure if I as going to like him, but oh how I came to not just adore him but love him. He tried to hide his good and tender heart but Sophie just wouldn't let him.
I loved their relationship. It was honest (as honest as David could be with himself and Sophie), sweet, funny and passionate. This will go down as one of my favorite romances that I have read in a long while. A must read!Love the epilogue too!!!

Another first time read author for me and I definitely will be reading her again.
Best friend/ younger sister trope who was secretly in love with her older brother's bff.
Really enjoyed this one,a lighthearted ,cute romance with an adorable heroine ,and a hunky hero.Can we say "Karma Sutra" anyone because this is how this couple's road to romance begins.

Hero is way too alpha and overly manipulative and controlling for my liking.

ALL the supporting characters are overly manipulating for my liking.
And the hero was a bastard through and through.
That was the last nail on the coffin! Buddy, DO NOT tell your girlfriend "it's none of your business" about ANYTHING pretty much on the same breath as "please take me back". You are NOT helping your case!
And the sister! Oh the sister! I just texted my sister with the synopsis telling her she can cut me off her life if I EVER meddle like this! What IS wrong with people? Let two adults deal with their faulting their way!!!!!!

When I first read Jenna Bayley-Burke's Compromising Positions it was long before I started reviewing for Guilty Pleasures and I remember finishing the book and immediately began re-reading it. I've probably read this book 20 times since it was first released and I've read the re-released version twice already. I can't even tell you why this book resonated so much with me; just that it did. There was something magical about the connection between the hero and heroine, their strange and twisted "not a relationship" and the deception that was a part of their lives unbeknownst to them. Sensual, seductive, and emotional; years later Compromising Positions remains one of the best romances I've ever read.
David Strong has rules about the women he spends time with and there are many, many rules. David doesn't do relationships, he doesn't do love and he knows that women always leave so there is no since in ever getting attached. For 35 years David has managed his life just fine until he agrees to help out his best friend and fill in for a couple's yoga class and he meets Sophie who doesn't play by his rules at all and shakes up his entire world.
I've always loved David despite his man whorish tendencies and his somewhat overinflated ego. I loved how from the beginning he was drawn to Sophie and was willing to go to bat for her and defend her at all costs, but more that that I loved that he realized what a special person she is even when she's angry and driving him crazy. David's world revolved around work, but Sophie made him see more than that; she filled his life with fun and joking and she teased him in more ways than one, but more that that she really understood how alone he felt and she made him see that having someone in his life wasn't so bad. Sophie was such a powerhouse and yes, her somewhat obsession about David (her brother in law's best friend) might be considered a bit crazy had she acted on it before he became a part of her life, but she didn't and once she knew he would be around for awhile she decided to just go for it, no regrets.
Every bit of this story was meaningful, ever interaction between them important and each time I read this book I get something more out of it. The emotions these two bring out, the way they fall into a relationship, the lost little boy inside David, the strength in Sophie, and they way fit together despite their huge height difference all make this book one phenomenal love story and I'll just add that the epilogue in this book is one of my favorites EVER.
For years Compromising Positions has been my "go to" romance; the one I read over and over again and I'm so excited that it is being re-released and I hope that many, many new readers discover the magic within it's pages.

The long and short of it.
This book plays off a substantial height difference between the two main characters, David and Sophie, in delicious detail through their Kama Sutra poses for a couples yoga class. Taking on the teaching duties for a friend and expectant sister, respectively, these two mismatched leads are maneuvering their way through the positions. They aren't only mismatched in height. David is older, comes from money, and marches through life with few attachments. Sophie is all about the attachments after caring for ailing elderly parents for several years, plus she is just a "helper" type. Despite the somewhat cliched set-up for this novel, the interpersonal dynamics for these characters managed to surprise me.
Believe it or not, inexperienced Sophie is the pursuer. As in doggedly pursuing David. As in embarrassingly forward. As in "The woman was a ticking sex bomb." Of course, he is very worth pursuing, and this becomes more evident the more the reader gets to know him. In fact, Sophie is pretty selfish in her single-minded pursuit of her long-time fantasy man.
Secondary characters are present, but not well-developed. Plot twists related to business manage to bungle things up for the couple. Overall, this is a hotly charged read that just didn't quite titillate as I expected, given the subject matter. If you want to keep twisting in the Kama Sutra wind, where the temperature is set even higher with a slight taboo element, think about also picking up .

Right off the bat I enjoyed Compromising Positions. I didn't want to put it down, unfortunately life got in the way of me finishing this book sooner. I loved the writing style and the interaction, tension, and how Jenna Bayley-Burke built their relationship.
I was worried when I got to the 56% mark because so much had already happened and I couldn't help but think what could this author do to keep me interested? What could possibly happen next? There indeed was more to come, some exciting and heartbreaking moments might I add.

For the first 10% of this book I was thinking I might have made a mistake. I just really struggled to get into it but then I am thinking that might have been more to do with the kids extra high levels of insanity this week.
Once I got over that slump I was so strongly invested in Sophie. She was such a great leading lady I just wanted her to get her happily ever after. There wasn't a single person around her I didn't want to kick in the dick for not appreciating her and looking after her better.
Not that David didn't warm up and prove himself but to start off I really didn't think he could be worthy of Sophie. But then he did all these things that made me think maybe he could man up and be close to good enough.
There was a fair bit of emotion and once I got into it I was so hooked I couldn't put it down. The sexual chemistry was so hot I couldn't get enough but that epilogue just brought it all together so perfectly I loved it.

First of all, it kills me that I've had this book on my Kindle for two years, and that I didn't even know I had it. That's the danger of being a bookaholic. You just have no clue what kind of books you own.
I love this book. I fell completely in love with the characters much as I did with the previous book I read by this author. So far, I'm two for two with with , and I'm very happy about that. Other than one, very major grammer mistake that pulled me out of the story, I could not put this book down.
The smut is plentiful, but it isn't what drives the book. It's all about the characters and their development as people. Nothing makes me more happy than a book that has a good balance between characters, plot and smut. Add good writing skills and I'm sold. Compromising Positions wrapped me up in its arms and kept me safe and warm from the very first page and through to the last one.
There is one thing I don't like about the books by this author so far. They end too abruptly. I know there is much more story there, the whole book is leading up to it, but it just wraps up and ends all of a sudden, leaving me feeling a little lost. Regardless, I like this author's voice, and I love her characters, so I'll continue reading.

I can't even begin to say how surprisingly awesome this book was! I got it for free on Amazon last week for Kindle, and anyone who has ever gotten a free kindle read from Amazon, knows they are typically hit or miss. Well, this one hit, and hit and hit! It was one of the best Contemporary Romances I've read in a while.

I'm slightly torn between giving it 3 or 4 stars. I feel I more than "liked it", but I dunno if I would go so far as to say I "really liked it". But what is the median between the two other than 3.5 stars. I hate giving half stars because it's not visible unless somebody reads the review and I dunno why anyone would want to read my pathetic excuse for a review in the first place. But I digress. We're talking about the book here.
Sooo... David is a control freak and Sophie is nympho virgin. They both own gyms and they've both been tagged to fill in for the instructors of a couple's sensual yoga class. The class focuses on touching, Kama Sutra positions, and the yoga or pilates positions that make those positions possible. Sophie has harbored a fantasy-driven crush on David for 10 years and teaching this yoga class finally puts them up close and personal while demonstrating sexual positions. She falls for him, he tries not to fall for her, etc ad nauseam. Happily ever after, the end.
Characters
The characters were somewhat typical, but then there was like an odd mixture of things thrown in. David is a major control freak and reorganizes her life without even telling her, much less asking her. ie: And when she calls him out on it, he doesn't see it. His response, numerous times, is the equivalent of "Nu uh." At the same time, Sophie wouldn't just specifically say why this action or that action made her feel like he was micromanaging her life. It seems like if she just said the words out loud, he wouldn't be so clueless.
As for Sophie... whoa. Can we say "zero to bitch in 2.3 seconds"? Because I reared my head back like I'd been slapped and muttered that "this bitch is crazy" at least 3 times.

Meet Sophie. She'll eat your soul instead of deal with the awkward 'morning after'...
She had insanely inappropriate overreactions to situations and I pictured her with wild hair, red glowing eyes, and spit flying out of her mouth when she would start a fight with David. It kills me when an author makes a character act so bizarrely crazy as a reaction to being uncomfortable. And it kills me even more when an author has that character realize that their behavior is extremely childish and unreasonable. But the author might as well rip my heart out and eat it in front of me if they have a character realize that their behavior is unreasonable and then have that character consciously shrug off the voice of reason and barge ahead with the crazytrain.
I also don't understand how a virgin (albeit one familiar with a vibrator) can be such a sexual creature without ever having even watched porn. She didn't date. She didn't dance. So where did all this raw sensual sexuality come from?
Plot
Let me first say that I really liked the concept. The yoga instructors being put into sexual positions, developing a somewhat hidden affair, and falling in love. It worked. It created sexual tension and with Sophie's dialogue while teaching class, I walked away feeling like I just got a lesson on how to improve my sex life. When I get one.

I know a couple that Sophie and David remind me of. The guy is like 6'8" and the woman is maybe 5'1". I've always looked at them and been a little weirded out because they just don't look like they'd fit. In any position. But their 4 kids prove that at least one part fits. And I've read a number of books where the man is tall and the female short, but the situation has never really been addressed. This book addressed the logistics and I was pleased about that.
The sex was... average.

I was surprised it wasn't steamier, considering the sensual yoga and everything. But it wasn't disappointing. Personally, though, I wanted a bit more. Not more sex, but a little more dialogue during foreplay or a few naughty whispers during yoga class to get the blood really pumping. It would have gone a long way and probably would have made this a 4 star read for me.
So even though Sophie's crazytrain was slightly annoying, I still liked both characters. I felt the chemistry and I liked their interactions (mostly). I grinned the whole way through the epilogue. Like a friggin' moron. The author definitely accomplished her goal of making me care about their HEA.
I would recommend this book to all my friends that believe fantasies really do come true and even a few that don't.
Sooo... David is a control freak and Sophie is nympho virgin. They both own gyms and they've both been tagged to fill in for the instructors of a couple's sensual yoga class. The class focuses on touching, Kama Sutra positions, and the yoga or pilates positions that make those positions possible. Sophie has harbored a fantasy-driven crush on David for 10 years and teaching this yoga class finally puts them up close and personal while demonstrating sexual positions. She falls for him, he tries not to fall for her, etc ad nauseam. Happily ever after, the end.
Characters
The characters were somewhat typical, but then there was like an odd mixture of things thrown in. David is a major control freak and reorganizes her life without even telling her, much less asking her. ie: And when she calls him out on it, he doesn't see it. His response, numerous times, is the equivalent of "Nu uh." At the same time, Sophie wouldn't just specifically say why this action or that action made her feel like he was micromanaging her life. It seems like if she just said the words out loud, he wouldn't be so clueless.
As for Sophie... whoa. Can we say "zero to bitch in 2.3 seconds"? Because I reared my head back like I'd been slapped and muttered that "this bitch is crazy" at least 3 times.

Meet Sophie. She'll eat your soul instead of deal with the awkward 'morning after'...
She had insanely inappropriate overreactions to situations and I pictured her with wild hair, red glowing eyes, and spit flying out of her mouth when she would start a fight with David. It kills me when an author makes a character act so bizarrely crazy as a reaction to being uncomfortable. And it kills me even more when an author has that character realize that their behavior is extremely childish and unreasonable. But the author might as well rip my heart out and eat it in front of me if they have a character realize that their behavior is unreasonable and then have that character consciously shrug off the voice of reason and barge ahead with the crazytrain.
I also don't understand how a virgin (albeit one familiar with a vibrator) can be such a sexual creature without ever having even watched porn. She didn't date. She didn't dance. So where did all this raw sensual sexuality come from?
Plot
Let me first say that I really liked the concept. The yoga instructors being put into sexual positions, developing a somewhat hidden affair, and falling in love. It worked. It created sexual tension and with Sophie's dialogue while teaching class, I walked away feeling like I just got a lesson on how to improve my sex life. When I get one.

Compromising Positions, my first book by Jenna Bayley-Burke, is a fun, light-hearted, and sweet romance.
Part of what makes this book so endearing is the characters, particularly Sophie. Her spunk, her love of her food, and her appetite for life make her a character to love. Her energy in the book drew me into the story. Her easy-going nature, her dedication to others, and her tenacity to take over control in her own life make her a heroine to respect. Her counterpart in the novel, David, is a hero with some internal struggles. He has had a lot of loss in his life that has led to his opinions and views on relationships, and a lot of the issues in the book and their relationship stem from this preconceived notions. Even with these obstacles, David is still a very likable hero. He is sweet and kind, and he tries to do the right thing, even if it is the wrong thing for Sophie.
What I enjoy most about their relationship though is the easy banter and conversation between the two, and I found this to be my favorite part of the book. It is clear that they have a genuine like for each other, and they never lie or play games with each other, which is entirely refreshing in the world of romance.
The plot of the story is, once again, good. The beginning will have readers laughing, and the physical tension between the two will keep readers interested in their relationship. I also like the conflict she created for the book. She could have easily gone the traditional playboy trope route, but she chose a more complex and character driven conflict. Even with the conflict, though, there are parts of the plot that could progress a quicker pace, as there are parts of the story that seem to drag on. Also, the sister's involvement in the conflict of the story didn't entirely make sense with her resistance to Sophie and David dating throughout the whole story. These two areas, however, do not prevent the story from still being a fun and romantic read.
This engaging and entertaining read is sure to be a pleaser for readers who are looking for some light and fun romance. She certainly provides humor, some steam, and some entertainment with Compromising Positions.

2.5*-3* The best I can say about this book is it would've made a great short story. But unfortunately, as a longer work it was unfocused and repetitive. Many romance novels have no real plot other than getting the two leads together for an HEA, and that sometimes works. But this book tried to have several plots, and none of them seemed to have much purpose other than to lengthen the book. The plot lines did little to increase the reader's understanding of the main characters' motives and actions, or to move the main story (ie, the romance) along. There was some good material in the book, especially the unfolding of David's background, but it was lost in the pages of unnecessary drama.
Another problem for me was Sophie's yo-yo personality. I've never read another character that could change emotions and personalities so many times in one scene. She was a vamp, a shy innocent, mad as a wet hen, and afraid, all in the space of about two pages, or less. I found the conversations between David and Sophie to be repetitive and often confusing.
This book needed some focus and a good editor. The good stuff is there, it just needs to be cleaned up.

Cute contemporary romance.- and HOT!
I rarely read contemporary romance. And sometimes I didn't finished them because almost all of them are sucks.
So I don't have any expectation ion this book. I pick it up because just for change after reading fantasies and sci-fis. I dont feel reading more insane books.. really.
So when I saw it and read the details, it makes me interested. The last contemporary romance I read like this are months ago.
There is nothing special in writing but the plot is great and cute.
The perfume garden? and other words that mentioned. I don't have any idea about that(and the positions) except the kamasura (come on, I'm not that baby not to know about that.) So I'm really having a hard time imagining what their doing. haha
Although it have a lot of sexual tension, it also have great humor and a very sweet cheesy epilogue. And I love it. After reading Mockingjay, I really want them(Peeta and Katniss) to have an epilogue like David and Sophie. aw!

I liked this one
I've had this book sitting on my kindle for years and didn't realise the little gem it was. This book was about a woman who has lived her life worrying and looking after her family and not looking after herself.
The main characters are forced together when her pregnant sister asks her and his best friend asks him (sister and best friend are married) to take over a kama sutra class for couples they normally run. Being forced into the intimate positions, they can't deny their attraction to each other.
There was a slow build to when they finally become intimate and their connection becomes stronger as the get to know each other.
Some funny parts and some educational parts. Definitely will be looking into some of the positions described.
Overall I enjoyed this story and will definitely be reading more from this author.

I love a spicy romance read with a good storyline and likable characters, but really good ones can be hard to find. This one was really good. Dave and Sophie made a great couple, and I loved all the sexual tension build up between these two. For a shorter read, this was funny and hot.

After spending over a decade fantasizing about the man, she finally has a chance to ogle and touch the man. Even if it is for professional reasons. Sophie knows the type of man he is when it comes to commitment but she can't help but push his buttons and break his rules. It is what they are there for right? David tries to do right by her and keep his distance but she is relentless! Plus after letting her in, she made herself completely comfortable and life would not be the same for David if she ever decided to leave.
I am torn done the middle with this book. Upon reading the first few chapters I was not all that sold and struggled to get through it. Then about the a quarter into it when Sophie finally wore David down enough to get past all his hang ups is was an enjoyable read! There were a few grammatical errors that stuck out and confused me but it was easy to get past.
I love me a egocentric man and the woman who knocks him down a few pegs and Compromising Positions does not disappoint in this area! He never wanted to love or have the complications of a relationship thanks to his father's failed marriages. But there is something about Sophie that he cannot give up. They have a lot in common but what they want for the future. Which does not become a problem until the very end when David makes a serious decision without Sophie.
This is everything a contemporary romance should be. Sweet, drama, heat, betrayal, humor, and much more. I wanted to give it a higher rating but I could not get over how easily Sophie forgave. It is a great trait but after she was completely manipulated she was totally okay with it. Even after she vows to not let someone make decisions for her, she lets David easily do it. Then the epilogue. I love a sappy ending as any romance junkie that was pushing the limit. I can't say why without giving it away but you will understand after you read it.

Compromising Positions is a delight!
I found this story of unrequited love, or lust as it is initially portrayed, to be a compelling page-turner.
This tale is of opposites who attract when they don't seem to have anything in common, physically or emotionally, has humor and a strong emotional wallop to surprise the reader. These two characters are undeniably meant for each other.
Sure, it's got the sexual hook that is required for sensual romance: David Strong is drafted into helping Sophie Delfino demo Kama Sutra positions for a couples' Sensational Sex Yoga Workout. Of course, Sophie has spent years fantasizing about David, the best friend of her sister's husband. Though David has a player rep, in reality, he's more concerned with not embarrassing himself publicly or privately the way his father has done for years.
Determined to make her fantasies come true, Sophie sets out to seduce David who is equally determined to do the right thing and not touch Sophie. The only problem is that doing the right thing means keeping her at arm's length, and that's not something Sophie will allow.

This is a sweet story about love and how we fall or who we do not fall in love with. David Strong has rules about the women he spends time with and omg, there are many rules. For David, he doesn’t do relationships nor love or attachments. 35 years David has been able to keep his life running smoothly but suddenly when he fills in for a friend’s yoga class , he meets Sphie and everything changes. She who doesn’t do his rules, who does relationships, who does commitments—she who brings massive change to David’s well-ordered yet sad life. David was a player and Ms Sophie brought out the man, not the player. David didn’t know what to make of Sophie when in the past all he did was work but Sophie was about love and chance. David didn’t know what to make of her but he was going to try. Every bit of this story was full of love , of chance--- I loved how David realized that Sophie was all forhim. The ups and downs, the struggle was worth it in the end for David and for Sophie..

Who lit the match that sparked the fire which led to Temptation? Compromising Positions makes it hard to decide. Ms. Burke's seductive game of foreplay is an amusing battle of boundaries, personalities and irresistible characters. Sophie is a pint sized dynamo with enough attitude to intimidate even the biggest heartbreaker. David is large is easy on the eyes but toxic to the heart. Being thrown together in a surprising twist, leads to explosive fireworks neither want to resist. Will mixing business with pleasure prove their undoing or saving grace? Compromising Positions is a live wire. Full of fun moments, sexy scenarios and great writing. Taking a walk on the wild side, has never felt so good.

Good book, not great. I felt like some parts dragged, and I just couldn't connect with the characters or the story. I wasn't head over heels in love with David either. But I'm glad it was a happy ending.

This was such a sweet, funny romance. Great heroine and hero was to die for. Great contemporary. If you like Jill Shalvis, Erin McCarthy, Susan Elizabeth Phillips then you'll love this.

I read this book for the 2021 Popsugar Challenge prompt "the book that's been on your TBR list the longest amount of time". I apparently bought this in 2010 (probably when I got my first Kindle) and never got around to reading it before it got lost in the many books I have on there (until I went looking for this prompt). I'm not sure it was worth the wait. The story itself is mostly about sex, and doesn't have much plot beyond that. The main characters are not unpleasant, but a little unbelievable. Not a terrible story, but not much to it. Oh well...

I wasn’t really sure what to expect from this book, but the blurb and the premise sounded kind of hilarious, so I went with it. This was such a fun and heartfelt read.
Right off the bat I will tell you that the writing did very little for me, and I think that’s why I didn’t enjoy it past the 3.5 stars that I gave it. Third person in dual POV romances is a tricky thing for me, and definitly not my favorite style. The book flowed well, and the pacing was actually pretty good, I was scared about this at first because the couple starts hot and heavy from the start, but it did work very well.
Both characters were very unique and interesting. David is older, a CEO of his own empire, who because he saw the disaster of his dad’s love life, vowed not to fall in love, get married or any of those things, because a lot of things in his life had hurt enough. He also has a type, and Sophie is definitly not it! Sophie put everyone’s lives ahead of her own. She took care of her parents and then her sister. She did everything for everyone, but no one treated her like she had a say. It honestly hurt how much her family, who loved her, considered her so little. To be honest, I identified with a lot of things that happened with her. You know when someone makes decisions for you, because they just assume that you don’t have anything else better to do? Yeah� it sucks! I feel like it’s important to tell you that because Sophie took care of everyone, she had little time to take care of herself, so she was 26 yo� but she was still a virgin. Mostly because of lack of opportunity.
When these 2 meet, sparks fly! Obviously they had met before, but Sophie had fantasised about David for 10 years already, so when she finally gets him in class, all over her, she decides to be bold. She’s relentless! Poor guy, eheh. David is torn, because she’s so not his type, but he likes her, a lot, but he knows it’s wrong. They end up taking things slow, and with a lot of ups and downs, finally fall in love with each other.
I thought the romance was really sweet, and the issues that they faced as a couple were very deep and important ones. I really liked their connection and felt their chemistry. I wished they had talked a bit more about some important things, because that’s what brought them down eventually. They both have some amazing character growth throughout the book, and that’s amazing.
I found it a tiny bit weird that not only had Sophie been fantasising about David for a decade, but about the importance she gave to the fantasy� you’ll get it when you read it. I wish she hasn’t put that much stock into it, though I did like that she ended up realizing that she came first and deserved better.

Overall, it was a very enjoyable read, and I do recommend it. I seriously felt the need to do a little good search while reading this book, so that was fun.

Compromising Positions is the first book I've read by Jenna Bayley-Shay, but it won't be the last. I really enjoyed reading Compromising Positions. It was an adorable romance filled with so many fun moments.
I liked both of the main characters, but Sophie stood out to me. Carrying her family's problems on her shoulders gave her a maturity beyond her years. The way she used putting her family first in the past as a way to encourage herself to go for what she wanted in the present was really cool. In her most immature relationship moments I had to remind myself that she was about ten years younger than David because she seemed so much older.
Sophie wasn’t the only one with a tough history. David's family life was far from perfect. While Sophie took her past and used it as a positive influence, David's past had a negative influence on him. It affected how he saw his future. I loved how he changed and what he learned about himself through his relationship with Sophie.
David and Sophie's relationship was very sweet. It was a little forbidden and a lot hot. Their relationship started in a really fun way with partnering up to teach a Sensational Sex workout. I loved how their attraction to each other progressed from there and changed throughout the book.
I only had a couple of minor dislikes while reading Compromising Positions. First, it was told in third person dual points of view. The third person narration was good, but I would have preferred to read Sophie and David's thoughts in first person. It would have made me feel even more connected to them. Second, there was a twist that came out of nowhere that I couldn't decide if I liked. It just didn't feel real or necessary to me. Neither of these things were big enough to truly impact how I felt about this book, though. It was just so much fun to read.
Compromising Positions was a cute contemporary romance. It was filled with super sexy situations that made me blush. I would recommend it to readers looking for a light and sexy read to escape with.

I absolutely adored Sophie and David's love story! I'm so glad I found this new-to-me author. She wrote a fun and sexy book that had me longing for the HEA but dreading it all the same, because I knew it would mean the end. And even though I love where Sophie and David ended up, I wanted more! I just loved them so much!
I instantly liked Sophie. Her playfulness and straight forward approach had me grinning from the start. She may be small, but she's larger than life and strangely the perfect match for David. I loved their easy relationship and fun, flirty banter. I longed for David to give into his desires, but I loved his honorable behavior no matter how torturous it was for them both. I'm thankful Jenna Bayley-Burke didn't keep us waiting too terribly long, because the passion was heady and the sex was hot! These two had me wanting to try out some new material. ;)
This story was about overcoming your fears and embracing life. Sophie lived to help others, never giving in to her own needs or desires. That is until David walked out of her fantasies and into her yoga class. She was determined to use the opportunity to get what she'd wanted for the last 10 years. She knew David's type and all his rules, but no way was she squandering these precious moments letting him deny the chemistry that exploded between them. David spent so much time trying not to be like his dad that it was inevitable that he would end up worse off than the man. It was only through Sophie's love and strength that he was able to see everything that he would miss in his life if he continued on as he was.
There was so much to love about this book. Sophie and David's journey was beautifully told and their emotions were expertly portrayed. I laughed, hoped, loved, struggled, and cried along with them. I hope you'll take a chance on their love story. I can guarantee you wont be disappointed.

That, in turn, leads her to taking over Daphne's Sensational Sex Class, when her sister has to stay in bed, with her long time crush, David Strong. Demonstrating Kama Sutra positions exceeds her wildest fantasies, and she's willing to do anything to make it real. David runs an international fitness company, and the last thing he has time for is love, so he stays out of relationships with a revolving door of hook ups. And he's never wanted more until he spends time with Sophie. No matter how hard he tries to keep her at arms length, she's going out of her way to test his control, which is fraying at the edges, outside of the class. Will David be able to keep her from breaching the walls around his heart, or will Sophie slip past all of his hangups?!

The character development is great, with a colorful cast of secondaries that frustrated me to no end, and cracked me up. Sophie was awesome, and she kept my sides hurting from laughing at her hilarious antics, while David was a great, broody bad boy alpha. Their simmering chemistry finally boiled over into SIZZLIN' sexy scene goodness, that will have panties heated up uncomfortably everywhere. I haven't read Jenna Bayley-Burke before, but her talented writing style caught and held my full attention very quickly. The way she wrote the emotions of the characters had me physically feeling them like they were my own. Not to mention her twists made for great OMFG moments that came out of nowhere. I cannot wait to read more of her, so I'm HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMENDING this story to all!
