Rate this book
Silent Power, like its bestselling predecessor Life Was Never Meant to be a Struggle, is a tiny book filled with practical advice on living more fully using your "silent power." Author Stuart Wilde claims that there is a silent power within you, an inner knowing that grows because you understand its infinity. I loved this book! Such a great, short, insightful read. I downloaded this book as a "required" reading for a Silent Flow/Book Discussion & Meditation at one of my yoga studios. It does not take long to complete, but you'll definitely feel empowered and enlightened after you read it. Highly recommend!

While the author makes some good points, I had a really hard time getting past his tone. He has a tendency to go around slapping simplistic labels on people, and doing so with an air of superiority. There might be some good here if you can read around it, but I couldn't.

Not my cup of tea. I believe in energy and the role it plays in our everyday relationships/interactions, but this was a bit much for me.

I did not like the content of the book which lacked any scientific basis or reasoning to back up the claims presented.

Long on shoulds and shouldn'ts, do's and don'ts, but short on how and why, Wilde's prescription is a mix of pseudoscience, Freudian tropes, and the greatest hits of eastern wisdom. His writing displays a deep distrust of all emotion, but implicit faith in his own judgments of the motivations of others. If you enjoy magical thinking but couldn't get through the I Ching, or find Taoism interesting but not enough to read the Dao de Jing, this book might be for you.

Take what you want, leave the rest.

Male-centric. Get over your emotions. Have an aire of mystery, don't give away too much...I get it. But it just doesn't age well in my opinion. Talking through things is helpful for me with the right people.

However, I enjoyed the reminders and practices of developing the psychic.

Good book, I got a few insights and learned excellent ideas. Especially chapters 2-3-4, but some other chapters were a little bit too esoteric for me. Still, I recommend it, and it's also short, to the point and easy to read.

I love this book. It only takes me around 2 hours to read it, and I’ve read it a few times.

It really opened my eyes and my mind to what I already subconsciously knew about our energy fields, and how we exchange energy with other people.

Very short book and slightly over-complicated for the message they wanted to convey.

The book is brilliantly written. The author has made it concise and the explanation is practical. Not many have been able to harness the power of silence as not many knew about the significance of silence, but the author has shown that there is so much to silence than not talking. Silence was seen as a weakness, but indeed, it isn't. I am sure, who ever reads this book is going to be effected by this power that was very well within us. The book is about 70-75 pages, and it will keep you hooked.

This was the first Stuart Wilde book I read, and still my favorite. It's short, and sweet, and brilliant. You can read it in one sitting really. I try to pick it up a few times a year to remind myself how to be in that silent place of focus he describes so well.

I sure did love this little book. Another book I want to keep with me. I want to have a greater perception. I want to help make the world a better place. The steps presented in this book show you how, and indeed I'm certain it has to be much better than what most of us do now.

This book is what I would call DEEP. It has some information in it that just stops me in my tracks and really makes me think. I have owned this book for a long time and every few years bring it out and read it again. It keeps the universe in perspective for me.

I read this in college and was having a tough time in my life so this kind of helped me through though I can't really say I fully believe in it now. It is great brain practice.

" one of the keys to silent power is to control your need to talk "
