A very lonely man who works at a black company becomes loot for a girl in a dungeon after she defeats a slime. He quickly works out he can earn a lot of money from killing monsters and selling the loot.
It as a book has a goofy fun idea, that everything that exists is just loot from dungeons, and it runs with that. This is also one of those game system worlds as well, so ofc, it has a leveling system. So if such things are satisfying to you as a reader, it does have that.
Getting deeper into it, the writing is very rough. The book is written mostly in past tense, so it feels like a summary at times. It spends very little time painting a scene and is mostly just dialog. Some parts have multiple rows of people just talking with nothing breaking it up.
Everyone sounds the same to me when they talk. They don't end up leave any massive impressions. We have a main character who wants to earn money and gain stats. Who is so lonely and over worked he starts to cry when someone cooks for him. An main girl who sleeps on the ground, but will clean and cook if you offer her a place to sleep. A bunny girl who who keeps finding the main character because she wants his carrot(s). And yes, that joke is made in the book as well.
For LGBTQ+ readers; the book has a "I'm not gay" moment I think they wanted to be funny, but it fell flat for me and instead just felt vaguely homophobic.
In the afterword's the author calls their story "perfect" and starts talking about an award they won and I cant help but find that kind of questionable as well...
I have a hard time recommending this. It was not for me at all
Another reincarnation novel. This publisher was good at picking novels, but sadly the English translation just only begun so many of the novels still in the first volume. It's a story where the main character can't level up, but the drop rate was very high so he could get an item to upgrade his stats even though still at first level.
Garbage cookie--cutter isekai slop. The writer is an amateur, and the MC gets a gun after a few chapters anyway. The worldbuilding also doesn't make sense. It's a world where everything (literally everything) depends on defeating enemies in dungeons to harvest their drops. I hope the writer is young, because if a grown man wrote this, it's just embarrassing.
An easy to read light novel. I loved how kind he was helping people and how after suffering so much in his previous life things are finally going his way. The homophobic, over the top freak outs with another character were completely unnecessary to the plot. They were supposed to be funny, instead they were offensive.
In all honesty I thought the title was really stupid and that I would not enjoy this one. Well to my suprise I was really enterained when I read this. I even started the anime but had a hard time to explain the girl in a bunny suit to my boyfriend.
