I really wanted to like this book more than I did. The idea of the story was appealing. I was able to believe that the characters thought and felt the things described. The dream scenes were well written. It was a good read until the end. It seemed as though the author lost concentration for the last third of the book. The ending just didn't seem to have the same pacing and the events seemed disjointed/rushed. Like I previously stated, I wanted to love this book when I was finished, but I just can't bring myself to go higher than 3 stars.
Overall the book wasn't bad, it did feel a bit repetitive at times and it felt like the big conflict of the story just kind of fizzled into nothing. Good spice, well written and a good completion to the first book.
I really enjoyed the story. I didn't think there was a need for a love triangle and I wished the ending wasn't rushed. But over all everything flow together smoothly.
Two years have passed since the ending in In Heat and Kim and Erik have only grown closer. I loved that Mating Call took place two years later because I could tell that Erik and Kim had gotten to know each other and had gotten closer even if I wasn’t able to read about it. While reading In Heat I wasn’t totally sold on their emotional relationship but this one changed my mind. I could feel their connection and deep feelings for each other much more in Mating Call.
In the first book in the series Kim and Erik were not able to truly become mates but I think that was for the best. In those two years of waiting for Kim to be in heat again their love and passion grew. Erik can’t wait for the exact moment when he can truly make Kim his forever and Kim is also finally ready but just when they think things can’t go wrong this time another player finds his way into their sexy dreams. There is only supposed to be one life mate out there for them so when this new guy shows up in their dreams things become filled with tension and confusion.
Erik has no clue why this guy is all of a sudden in their dreams and he doesn’t like it. Is there really someone else that might want Kim as much as he does? He has waited forever to find her and he sure as hell isn’t giving her up. Erik has nothing to worry about or does he? If Kim is sure about anything it is that she loves him but when she starts to realize how much she likes their new dreams she begins to worry about what it might all mean. If this guy can make her feel all these things what will happen if she meets him? Both are extremely worried and confused. Just when things are supposed to get easier they are hit with a new obstacle that makes for a pretty interesting story.
Overall, Mating Call didn’t waste anytime getting down to business and things definitely got more intense in this one. Kim grew and became more confidant about herself and what she wants. Erik become more territorial but with good reason and it made things more interesting ;) Mating Call kept up the two pov’s just like In Heat did but I felt like this also delivered a better story. I didn’t know how I was going to feel about a love triangle but it was more of a lust triangle and didn’t irritate me the way I thought it might. It was attention grabbing and had much to be anticipated. Unfortunately just like with the first one the end fell a little flat for me . I felt like it was leading up to this big thing (partly did) and then nope nada. Was happy with most of it just would have liked more out of part of the end. It was just too simple.
Mating call is book two In Felicity Heaton’s Heat series and I must say I thought book one was smokin !! Mating calls being the perfect title - we are taken on a whirlwind of hot sex, lust, love passion and lots of loving!
The time has come for Kim and Erik to mate - they have waited two years for this day to be mated and bonded for life. But some stranger is coming to Kim in her dreams, a white panther that also brings out urges and wants in her through her dreams, is Kim able to resist him in real life? She knows that Erik is the one she wants, but is she able to dodge the mating call.
WOW!!! I must say mating call was hotter than the first!! Normally one would not expect a second book in the series to be better but this was certainly so in Mating call. The scenes where scorching, sexy, erotic and downright Titillating!!! Yes your blood will be pumping - your heart a racing and I’m sure this read may just bring out some primal urges in your too ** waggles eyebrows**
I loved that Erik was territorial - Kim was his and his alone - he would have done anything for her... Even ripped out Kristians throat if need be.. I felt a tad sorry for Kristian, he may have done some not so friendly things but I think when you’re in love your do things you normally wouldn’t. I’d love to see more of Kristian in future books to come and also Erik and Kim and even Sean.. Maybe even Sean and Kristian may just have their own story to tell one day?
Wonderfully delivered and vivid scenes ** wink **.. Descriptions and emotions well put forth, and as always Felicity never disappoints!!
A sexy read for all those readers who enjoy shape shifters, erotic encounters and a fab storyline to boot!!
It’s filled with lots of sex, ** fans oneself** so if you not after a steamy read then this is not for you!!
I eagerly await the next book to see where Felicity takes us!! ** inserts roar here ** lol.
In Heat: Mating Call takes place two years after In Heat. Erik and Kim are now living together, sharing an almost perfect life. They are beyond excited when Kim starts showing signs of the mating heat. Everything is right on track until Erik notices a shadow during one of their dream visions. It's another man. Not wanting to alarm Kim, Erik hides this information. During another dream vision Kim notices the shadow man too. The further the mating heat progresses, the more solid the shadow man, Kristian, becomes until one day Kristian joins in.
Because Kim and Erik missed the mating heat the first time, there is now a glitch. They learn that Kristian could interfere with the mating, claiming Kim as his own. Kim and Erik fear that another man will again ruin their mating. Kim is scared that Erik will eventually resent her even though she has no control of what happens with Kristian during the visions. Erik fears that Kim will leave him for Kristian. Kristian does not care what anybody want, his only goal is to make Kim his mate at any cost.
I'm not a fan of love triangles, however that is not why this book only got three moons. Mating Call started out great. There was the excitement of the mating heat, toe curling sex scenes, and two very pissed off alpha males. The entire novel felt like it was set up for this huge battle over Kim and then everything fizzled out at the end. So while Mating Call was on its way to four moons, the ending definitely stopped that from happening. It was not a bad ending, just very anticlimactic.
Loved this sequel and kinda hope it's not the last we hear from Kim and Eric cause I do love them. He is a man not afraid to wear his heart on his sleeve for Kim and let her know exactly how much she means to him. The only downside was Kristian, he had me really scared that he was gonna steal Kim away, even though she'd chosen Eric and didn't want Kristian! I wanted to slap whatever entity controls the visions for putting Kim and Eric through hell by placing Kristian in their visions as another possible mate for Kim when Eric is her soul mate! Still, like Kim I felt sorry for Kristian at the end when he was finally reasonable and realised the truth, I hope he makes amends to Eric for trying to forcibly steal Kim and that he finds his real mate! He earned my forgiveness when he finally listened to what Kim had been trying to tell him about his being in the visions being a glitch. When he heard that Eric had been dreaming of her for 30 years and that Kim had only dreamed of Eric last time he dropped his claim and apologised but the crap he put them through before hand! I might forgive him and wish him luck finding his true mate but I still want to slap the guy! I do hope Kim and Eric get another book with her learning the ropes of being a Lycan like Eric and getting introduced to Lycan society properly as a new Lycan and Eric's mate!

I picked up Mating Call during a week when Felicity Heaton was offering several books free on Amazon. The first book in this series, In Heat, I really liked. This book just didn’t live up to the first book, which is sad, because I really, really wanted to like it.
Okay, to be fair, I did like parts of Mating Call. Those parts were where the characters actually talked, interacted and their relationship developed. Unfortunately, there wasn’t a lot of that. Most of the book centered around one thing, sex.
I know what you’re thinking, but honestly, it was too much. There just wasn’t enough story to support it. The first book was intense, emotional and the characters were likeable. In this book, even though it involved the same characters, it was hard to relate to any of them. There were still parts that I liked and if a third book is ever offered in this series, I will probably read it. Mainly because I really want to like the characters. They have potential, it’s just that this one seemed too forced.
In Heat Book #1 and Mate Calling Book #2 Not really digging these
I absolutely love Felicity Heaton’s Her Angel Romance Series so when I saw these two books I wanted to give them a try.
The two Main Characters of these books are Eric Blackwell and Kim. In Book #1 In Heat basically Kim has been dreaming of a mysterious man and when he shows up at the law firm she works at she realizes it’s her client Eric Blackwell. From here it’s all downhill. Eric has been dream sharing with Kim for years. She is his destined Mate. In Book #1 they miss the opportunity to Mate and have to wait until she goes into Heat again.
Book #2 Mate Calling again is all Eric and Kim with sex, dream sharing, again sex then dream sharing but with a little twist another party is involved in the dream sharing. She very graphic with the sex scenes but there was really no plot or story line. I like a good sex scene but there has to be some story line there. I give these 2* for the great graphic images but I wasn’t digging these books. Sorry
Two years have passed since Erik and Kim found each other and are desperately waiting for the moment where they can mate and be together for eternity. Things start to go awry when a stranger intrudes on the dreams shared by Erik and Kim and neither knows what it means. When the stranger is revealed as someone who is also in love with Kim, the race for the mating to be complete begins.
In Heat: Mating Call is as erotic and hot as the previous book. The passion between Erik and Kim is stronger than it has been before. You are shown the world of Lycans through the eyes of Kim as she is introduced to the intricacies of what the life entails, as well as the frustration of wanting to be together and having to wait for the right time is also shown throughout this book.
This story is about insecurities, trust and love and Felicity Heaton has successful brought all elements together for an enjoyable hot sexy read.
In book two, the time has come for Kim and Erik to mate. They have waited two years for this day to be mated and bonded for life. But some stranger is coming to Kim in her dreams, a white panther that also brings out urges and wants in her through her dreams, is Kim able to resist him in real life? She knows that Erik is the one she wants, but is she able to dodge the mating call.
I really like the story Felicity has created with Kim and Erik. This started off really well but towards the end when the action was coming fell short. Kristian drugs Kim and takes her to his home and when they get there Kim says that she doesn't love him and he shruggs and says "ok, you can leave." I just wished there was a little more .... something. There was such a build up to finally confronting Kristian and then it was over with no real action. I will definately continue to read the next book, very curious of what will happen for Kim and Erik.

I would have given this book 4 stars if i didn't find the end ridiculous. Since they missed the chance to mate in the first book they are to forced to wait for the dreams to restart for the mating call to begin, but as a stranger intrudes on their dreams everything is at risk.
I totally loved this new twist, and i totally understand the need to give erik and kim their happy ending but the way kristain backed off at the end was really unconvincing i mean he is supposed to be a weretiger in search of his mate that's something primal, instinctual so i dont get how he was so logical and understandable at the end and all it took was a few words for him to be like " yeah we dont belong together, must be some glitch in the dream system" okay good luck with that.
ANOTHER AMAZING BOOK!!! By far my favourite series by Felicity so far! This series is sooo hot and sexy, its impossible to put it down!!! If you thought Erik couldnt get any hotter, then are you in for a shock! I love how possessive and demanding Erik is with Kim when there's another player in town to capture her as his own mate. Kristian has got nothing on Erik. although i think Kristian is a bit of a pompus poof, and a little up himself, i still think he deserves somebody to spend his life with, even a pompus prince can get lonely after all. ;) Cant wait for the next book in the series. oh PLEASE let their be another one!!! :)

i also was recommended this by Becky Johnson. i was in hope it was as good as the first but was sadly dissapoonted. i loved the new character the were-tiger prince. i loved how he was the protagonist wanting what he couldnt have. i'd ask the author that maybe more description of him. how he became. the storyline was great. but the characters build up was not visible, there needed to be more character buildup to make the story as amazing as the first. though i still liked this piece, the first had to amazing.
i also ask coz i like this series can you write a third one?
I absolutely loved the first book, In Heat! Erik is super sexy and the chemistry between he and Kim burns up the pages.
In Mating Call (In Heat 2), the chemistry is still there; Erik and Kim are almost combustible since having to wait the past two years for the mating cycle to begin again. The addition of Kristian simply didn't work for me. He was more of an annoyance than the sexy third in a menage. Lots of good lust and anxiety; however, the ending wraps up a bit too quickly.
Kim and Erik have waited 2 years for the visions to return so they can complete the Mating. They are both very happy until they find another man, Kristian, in the visions. The introduction of Kristian brings the conflict to this story but also allows for some hot menage scenes. Like in the first book you can't immediately tell if some scenes are visions or whilst they are awake. If you liked the first book you will like this one. Barely enough story around the other action and very little background information.
I enjoyed this even more than the last book (a feat I didn't think was possible!) Another shape-shifter comes into play in this one & it makes it oh so interesting. I love Kim & Erik but I thought Prince Kristian was a bit of an ass for the most part. The sex scenes are phenomenal & I had too many hot flushes to count whilst reading!! I would definitely recommend this to anyone that likes hot alpha males & a lot of raunchiness!!
Again the love scenes were a little too frequent and drawn out for me. Kim sort of annoyed me in this book a couple of times. Her stupid note? What an idiot. I thought it was all resolved a little too easy. Erik would not have let him go for anything, and Kristian was willing to drug and kidnap her, but once she explains she can't be with him he just gives up and lets her go? That didn't make sense if their mate bond was supposed to be so strong.
In this follow up to In Heat was a great read. I liked that Kim and Erik got to know each other more and their desire for each was as hot as ever. In the visions it threw in a new potential mate, and added some more heat. We weren't sure who Kim would chose Erik or the new male Kristian? I loved this book but I would have loved for Kristian to fight more for a woman he thought was his mate. Keep coming with the Hot and Steamy Books.
This is the first book I have read by BA Tortuga. I can't say I loved this book but it was a pretty good read. The storyline and characters were fairly well developed, however if they had bee developed a little more I think the story would have flowed better for me. Having said that I found the to be a fun, sexy, quick read. If you are looking for a quick read I recommend this book. Our blog was given this book in exchange for an honest review.
This is the sequel to In Heat...... The story picks up 2yrs later........ They believe they have all the obsticles out of the way........ then the dreams start again but simethings different.......... They now have new obsticles to defeat before the mating is complete........ can they do it?
I highly recommend this book
ENJOY:D (I appologise for spelling errors...... writing on my phone)
Very very smutty, but not as good as the first one. The story seemed disjointed and I really could've done without it. This book was like an Anita Blake book, if you took out any overalls storyline.
It was very hot and I loved how you could feel the connection between Kim and Eric. The book kept me on the edge of my seat trying to figure out why this second person was in their shared visions. I've got to say it made the visions very hot.
Felicity Heaton/Anastasia Dawson is an amazing author. I have read more than 50 of her books and have loved them all. Her books include, Vampires, Succubus, witches, angels, shape-shifters, human hunters, dragons, demons, clones, and much more. I hope you enjoy her stories as much as I do.
