I have no patience for the Tribe. Rock may keep talking about how it's their destiny to be in the mountains but never gives any reason why any group of cats should want to live in such an inhospitable, dangerous, food-poor area. Also, the Tribe is so mentally inflexible that they can't handle any new problems or situations. If the old way doesn't work, they surrender themselves to death. If a new way suggested seems difficult, they throw a fit. They complain so much. They keep needing to be rescued by Clan cats.

I think this book is very good so far. I am almost done with it, it is very mysterious and evil. You want billions of things to happen and others to not, but you cant because all the things have already been written. For example: You dont want any other cat of ThunderClan to join the Dark Forest, but Millie is too concerned of Briarlight that she doesnt notice how much Blossomfall and maybe Bumblestripe are hurt by it. So Blossomfall goes and joins the Dark Forest from hurt and hatred. Blossomfall thinks she is doing the right thing but is blinded by hatred for her mother, she thinks that she will be a stronger better warrior, but doesnt realize the terrible mistake she has done, what all her Clanmates will think of her. Blossomfall does not know she will be killing innocent cats. She thinks doing this will cost her nothing.
It will cost her her friends, her family, her Clanmates, her Clan, the forest! She thinks there will be no cost what so ever she probably doesnt even realize it will cost her her life.

Lindepoel werkt nu als spion voor de Donderclan in het Duistere Woud. Haar zus is erg bezorgd omdat ze dikwijls gewond wakker wordt.
Gaaiveder heeft een teken gekregen dat hij terug op reis moet naar de Stam in de bergen. Vuurster laat hem gaan, met Duifvleugel, Vossprong en Kwiklicht als gezelschap.
Daar aangekomen wordt Gaaiveder terug in het verleden gebracht en maakt mee hoe de eerste katten de bergen kwamen bewonen. Hij benoemt Halve Maan als hun eerste Steenspreker en Heler.
Hij komt ook te weten dat buiten hemzelf, ook Duifvleugel (Duivenvleugel in het verleden) en Leeuwvlam(Leeuwenbrul) bij die eerste bergkatten leefden. Hij leert de katten hoe ze moeten jagen om de adelaars de baas te kunnen.
In het heden, op het terrein van de Clankatten, raken Lindepoel en Bloesemval verdwaald in de tunnels waarin ooit Hulstloof verdween. Een onbekende kat, die ze niet kunnen zien, wijst hen de weg terug. Woont er effectief een kat in de tunnels?
Bij de Stamkatten in het heden heeft Gaaiveder eindelijk ontdekt waarom hij de reis moest maken. Als de oude Steenspreker sterft, benoemt Gaaiveder Piek tot nieuwe Steenspreker, net zoals hij ooit de eerste Steenspreker benoemd heeft. En hij komt te weten dat er een vierde kat is die zich bij de Drie moet voegen....
Super spannend boek waarin weer veel gebeurt.

Flora (what kind of name is that for a rogue anyway?!) - Not even remotely interested that a bird nearly ate her and didn't decide to say thanks to Swoop who died INSTEAD
Stoneteller sort of went crazy and voted out Foxleap at the emergency meeting
Jayfeather decides to lie about Stoneteller's wishes and names a random cat he doesn't even know leader of a Tribe which has nothing to do with him and you know, Tribe just ACCEPTS it.
Also I'm betting a tenner that Firestar is special again and is the Fourth which makes no sense in the plot but I bet it still happens, even though Ivypool deserves to be special more, seeing as she threw a tantrum and now makes nightly visits to evil dead cats, because Dovewing was getting more attention than her.

Oh, the drama...
This is the fourth book in the series. It appears to be the fourth of many series about wild cats. With about 300 pages, this is a great book for older children to start expanding their reading comprehension abilities and challenging themselves with longer books.
I love books that get our girls excited to read and the Warriors did that for our youngest. She is in love with these stories! I like to read whatever they are reading, so we can chat about the stories and discuss the characters and plots.
This was a quick, entertaining and dramatic read. I find it interesting that this series is cowritten by a group of female authors who go by the pseudonym . With four writers in the group, it certainly allows them to be prolific.
I am sure that our youngest will want to read all of the different series, and I plan to read them right along with her.
I have grown attached to the different characters and I feel like I have to finish the series to find out what happens. Sometimes the plot seems a bit overblown and contrived, somewhat like a soap opera. But the stories are very engaging, and I just have to know what happens next..
I'm not sure if I'll love all of the books in the , but I certainly like the story. Our youngest is almost with this series, so we will have to move onto some of the special series books, since only one book in the series has been published so far.

So after finishing Sunrise, the 6th and final installment in POT Warriors, Erin said that OOTS Warriors would be SO dark. However, I feel like other books are darker than this series has been so far. The Fourth Apprentice,released in fall 2009, was OK, but there was really no plot whatsoever. The introduction of the beavers was nice, along with the new omen. Fading Echoes (spring 2010) delivered its plot well: the idea of Ivypaw (now called Ivypool) joining the Place of No Stars out of her jealousy of her sister, Dovepaw/wing and her desire to be strong was excellent. Night Whispers (autumn 2010) was actually pointless: like the first book in the series, it had no plot. Dovepaw was crushing on Tigerheart, but felt that he couldn't be trusted, while Ivypaw continued being in the Dark Forest, until her sister and the other members of the 3 asked her to spy on them,revealing the truth behind everything so far. Flametail was dealing with sickness and plague within ShadowClan (this was the first time we see a viewpoint outside of TC other than in super editions), which was just pointless. He died playing hockey...which didn't accomplish anything. So it was OK, but nowhere near good.
Sign of the Moon was basically a filler book. There were hardly any mentions of the previous storyline from Night Whispers. Anyway, SOTM takes place in late winter and early spring (Probably in the whole month of March)and the tensions between Clans are rising (except for StarClan, because even though in NW they were fighting and separating, in this book they were all together and having fun? Doesn't make sense). Dovepaw and Ivypaw become warriors (Dovewing and Ivypool) in the beginning. The good part of the book was that, and numerous hints that Hollyleaf may have survived from her "accident" in Sunrise. The backdrop of the Ancients was also good, despite annoying numerous typos that occured. The book also had a plot and subplot, unlike TFA and Night Whispers. However, there were several bad things about this book, which sucked because the previous volume of OOTS was also only mediocre. First of all, the main plot of Jayfeather, Dovewing, Foxleap and Squirrelflight visiting the mountains made no sense. Nothing was accomplished, one cat died for nothing, and there was no reason ever given as to why the mission had to be made in the first place. Plus, the Clan cats were treated unfairly and badly by the Tribe cats, unlike in previous books, with almost no reason being given. The subplot of Ivypool spying on the Dark Forest cats and Lionblaze doing his warrior duties was good and something I yearned for. However, they only had a few chapters because Jayfeather and Dovewing took up the whole spotlight with a boring and useless main plot. So basically, Sign of the Moon gets a "B-" in my grading. Put simply, here are the reasons:
Good: Had a plot. Ivypool and Lionblaze's subplot was very interesting, and so was the tale of the Ancients. In fact, the subplot was stronger than the A plot, IMO.
Bad: Numerous errors throughout the book; meaningless and boring main plot, a character died for no reason, not really exciting, and the subplot was not given enough chapters. There was no cliffhanger that would've left me so excited for the next volume coming this fall, nor was there a preview of the summer manga/super editions that are to be released! In addition, Erin's writing was not as good as it was before.

I loved this book!
Dark Forest grows stronger by the day. More cats are being discovered as trades to their clans. Who will turn their backs on their clans and who will stay loyal??? When the final battle rages.... The drama! Can't wait for book five. :-)

i enjoyed reading this book. its made me think about cats in a whole new way. i like this book because it got me to think about my own lifelike and how its very much like the cat life. i don't mean people are dying because they want to take someones land. i mean these cats have so much faith in starclan they are willing to devote there entire life to them and its like that with people too they have so much faith in their gods they would do anything for them blindley and without question. mothwing (riverclan's medicen cat) shows something that also happens with people the she-cat does not belev in starclan. this is something that happens very often with people, they are told something their whole life but when their older they stop beleving in it. mothwing's leader mistystar has learnd to ecseped that and they bolth live with an understanding of what the other needs this is what happens with people and their religends.

Y'all I am SAD. Rock why 😭
In all honesty, reading this made me remember why I really love this series. I don't know if it was the fact that for the first time in a long time I didn't really know what was going to happen, or if this was just a particularly compelling volume for me, but it really gave me that "I'm twelve years old and reading about magic cats and having the time of my life" feeling. And I have missed it so <3
Beware, spoilers ahead! (Given that this book is like 11 years old I don't know if anyone cares about spoilers, but I feel it's worth saying.)
I'm really starting to love Jayfeather, he's such a grumpy old man and I adore that archetype. I know it's kind of overdone for medicine cats (Yellowfang, Cinderpelt, and now him) but it just suits him. I get why he's a fan favourite now. As a kid I always thought of him as whiny and annoying, LOL.
The time travel concept was... kind of wild, honestly. Like, okay, Erins. I know we've done it before with Jayfeather going into the past to influence the future so the Clan's he's a part of still exist (I know, my head hurts too) but it was still kind of exhausting to wrap my head around. I do like it though! The idea that the Clans are cyclical in nature, that for all their differences the Clans and the Tribe were originally one and the same and will forever be connected just... hits me right in the feels. Good shit.
Also, Half Moon and Jayfeather 😭 I'm not normally one to feel so strongly about canon ships (so many of them are so bland and out of nowhere) but this one made me into a supporter like, instantly. They were just so cute together 😭 Knowing that Jayfeather could have finally had the life he always wanted, unhindered by his blindness, able to take a mate who so obviously loves him and have kits, but destiny has other plans... It hurts :( That scene at the end has my heart, omg. I like to think that, many seasons in the future, once all this is resolved, they get to be with each other in StarClan/The Tribe of Endless Hunting <3 (since it's basically canon that those are the same thing, just in different places).
Okay, shipping and whatnot aside, I also really liked the character growth we saw in this one! Ivypool and Dovewing growing up 😭 (I'm using that emoji a lot this time around huh)
We got so much insight into the characters and their personalities, and seeing Ivypool in the Dark Forest was heart-wrenching every time. I love how every once in a while a cat will throw in a comment of "why in StarClan's name is Firestar making us do this, this is dumb". It's nice to see that even though he's a grandpa now and no longer the main character, Firestar still gives no fucks and just does what he wants, Clan traditions be damned. Oh, only ShadowClan does night training? Guess again, we do that too now. And the apprentice assessment system that's been in place for countless seasons? Let's change that too, and make it so that two warriors have to do an apprentices assessment, because we can. (Sidenote, Spiderleg vouching for Dovey to get her warrior name made me Emotional.)
ANYWAY, suffice to say I thoroughly enjoyed this one, and I'm a bit sad that now I've got to make another detour with Crookedstar's SE and some manga before I can keep going and wrap up this arc. I'm especially excited for the next book in particular, because I think a certain favourite character of mine is going to be making another appearance 👀
While I'm definitely not making it by the time the next book comes out in less than three weeks (unless I want to read 2.5 books a day LOL), I shall continue forging onward with this little reread project of mine!

In all honesty, reading this made me remember why I really love this series. I don't know if it was the fact that for the first time in a long time I didn't really know what was going to happen, or if this was just a particularly compelling volume for me, but it really gave me that "I'm twelve years old and reading about magic cats and having the time of my life" feeling. And I have missed it so <3
Beware, spoilers ahead! (Given that this book is like 11 years old I don't know if anyone cares about spoilers, but I feel it's worth saying.)
I'm really starting to love Jayfeather, he's such a grumpy old man and I adore that archetype. I know it's kind of overdone for medicine cats (Yellowfang, Cinderpelt, and now him) but it just suits him. I get why he's a fan favourite now. As a kid I always thought of him as whiny and annoying, LOL.
The time travel concept was... kind of wild, honestly. Like, okay, Erins. I know we've done it before with Jayfeather going into the past to influence the future so the Clan's he's a part of still exist (I know, my head hurts too) but it was still kind of exhausting to wrap my head around. I do like it though! The idea that the Clans are cyclical in nature, that for all their differences the Clans and the Tribe were originally one and the same and will forever be connected just... hits me right in the feels. Good shit.
Also, Half Moon and Jayfeather 😭 I'm not normally one to feel so strongly about canon ships (so many of them are so bland and out of nowhere) but this one made me into a supporter like, instantly. They were just so cute together 😭 Knowing that Jayfeather could have finally had the life he always wanted, unhindered by his blindness, able to take a mate who so obviously loves him and have kits, but destiny has other plans... It hurts :( That scene at the end has my heart, omg. I like to think that, many seasons in the future, once all this is resolved, they get to be with each other in StarClan/The Tribe of Endless Hunting <3 (since it's basically canon that those are the same thing, just in different places).
Okay, shipping and whatnot aside, I also really liked the character growth we saw in this one! Ivypool and Dovewing growing up 😭 (I'm using that emoji a lot this time around huh)
We got so much insight into the characters and their personalities, and seeing Ivypool in the Dark Forest was heart-wrenching every time. I love how every once in a while a cat will throw in a comment of "why in StarClan's name is Firestar making us do this, this is dumb". It's nice to see that even though he's a grandpa now and no longer the main character, Firestar still gives no fucks and just does what he wants, Clan traditions be damned. Oh, only ShadowClan does night training? Guess again, we do that too now. And the apprentice assessment system that's been in place for countless seasons? Let's change that too, and make it so that two warriors have to do an apprentices assessment, because we can. (Sidenote, Spiderleg vouching for Dovey to get her warrior name made me Emotional.)

There are many things that I enjoyed in 'Sign of the Moon'. I like reading from Ivypool's point of view. It's really hard for her to come to Dark Forest every night and spy, but she takes this burden to protect her Clan, and that shows what a strong character Ivypool has became. I like the journey to the mountains since it allowed us to see old friends like Stormfur and Brook and gave us one more insight into the Tribe's life. I really love the link between ancient cats, the Tribe of Rushing Water and forest Clans, and I like how the prophecy changes. I enjoyed Jayfeather's
However, there were some things that kind of annoyed me. It just looks like some cats act out-of-character to deliberately make things difficult. Like Cinderheart building a wall between her and Lionblaze instead of helping by giving him support and encouragement. And though I can understand Millie's behaviour, it still looks just like an excuse to justify Blossomfall's actions, except it doesn't really justify them. Apparently Bumblestripe doesn't complain about lack of attention from his mother and devotes himself to encouraging Briarlight instead.
I also hoped for more interaction with the intruders. While the single encounter they had did imply that the Tribe and the intruders can turn from enemies to something else, I hoped to learn more about those strange cats and their way of life. And the most important, I don't like that

Cool! I really cannot wait to see what's going to happen in the next book!!
Characters - 4.5/5 - Like the previous two books, I've been getting more used to the cats having powers and in this book I didn't really mind them having them at all. It's sort of interesting, I guess. I'm still not huge fans of Dovewing and Ivypool (they seem a bit annoying at times), but we're not meant to like every single character! On the other hand, I think Jayfeather and Lionblaze are awesome! Finally, in this book we saw the Tribe Cats which was really awesome; they're so different to the Clan cats, providing great variety!
Plot - 4/5 - Pretty good and what I really liked was how it started with more of a spark compared to the previous book. It really drew you in! But then for a bit I didn't feel like loads happened and then as it moved on stuff started to happen again which was pretty cool. Not as dramatic as some Warriors books, but this one carried a lot of intrigue, possibly setting things up for the next book?
Writing - 5/5 - Again, I love the writing style and find it very easy to read and understand. There's a perfect balance between description and dialogue and I love just being able to easily read the book without having to trudge through pages and pages of description; it's a very fast read.
Enjoyment - 4/5 - I was maybe expecting a tad bit more considering the things we've seen in other Warriors books (it's hard to compare though as they're all so good), but it was certainly a very enjoyable read nevertheless!
Overall - 4.4/5 - Same rating as the previous book, which is probably what it deserves. I think that there was definitely improvement with how it started and how it jumped straight in, but after that was over I don't feel like loads continued to happen. Might have been one of those books that is like a set-up for the next one so everything runs smoothly? I know there's going to be a huge battle soon, so everything's preparing for that, I'm sure!

I have barely anything to say about Sign of the Moon because it is a classic travelling to the Tribe filler book.
Firestar summarizes my reaction perfectly: When Jayfeather asks him if the Clan cats could go to the tribe, he gets really annoyed and that is how I feel when reading about the tribe again. Don’t get me wrong, I like the concept of the Tribe, but it gets annoying. It’s especially annoying that the way of living and traditions of the Tribe are explained to us every time again and every time, the Clan cats are surprised by them and think it’s “weird�. But I enjoyed how the strings were finally pulled together and we get to know how the Tribe and the Clans are connected. One aspect I didn’t enjoy though was the forced love story we had back in the past with Jay’s Wing � the story around him would’ve worked perfectly without it.
Back at ThunderClan, nothing happens as well. Warriors deals with disabled characters terrible as always, more I don’t have to say about the time at ThunderClan.
The ending gives me hope since it is teased that and I guess it will happen in The Forgotten Warrior (hence the title)!

Sign of the Moon! This book really was a great installment in this series. I loved how the Thunderclan cats went back to the Tribe and how Jayfeather went back in time! I feel so bad for Jayfeather, he and Half Moon were perfect for each other! Their kits would've been so awesome! They deserved better than what they got! I'll never forgive Rock for this (currently shaking my fist in fury)! I really want to know who the fourth is though! I can't wait for the next book!

I liked it; it wasn't the best of the 'omen of the stars' series, but it was still good. I highly recommend this series for ages 10+

this was definitely my favorite book of omen of the stars so far, I found it really sad that Jayfeather/ Jay's wing couldn't be with halfmoon. I also noticed that stone song calls Jay's wing Jayfeather without knowing that was his name.

*sigh*...this is the last available book from the final Warriors series, 'Omen of the Stars'. The next book (book 5) only comes out in November, and to quote my cousin Giselle 'Finishing a good book is like saying goodbye to a friend.' I don't know what I am going to do without this series that has captured my thoughts, my imagination and my heart. At least I have a few Super Editions to hold me off until then...LOL
Sign of the Moon starts off with a prologue taking place in the Tribe of Rushing Waters, a tribe that the cats of the clans have met on various occasions, so we can only assume that some clan cats will be visiting the tribe at some point in this book. Back in ThunderClan, IvyPaw & DovePaw receive their final assessment to be made warriors, but when IceCloud falls into the infamous tunnels, the assessment is cut short. Seeing the tunnels brings back horrible memories for LionBlaze & JayFeather, who lost their sister HollyLeaf in an avalanche during the final PO3 book. Both want to explore but can't due to the other cats around. Finally made into full warriors; their warrior names are IvyPool & DoveWing. As the settle in to make the traditional silent vigil, they spot JayFeather & LionBlaze, though neither is forthcoming that they are returning to explore the tunnels. After all, they never admitted to the whole truth about HollyLeaf's disappearance. They explore and find a tuft of HollyLeaf's black fur, but they find no body where they know she should be buried.
Eventually, JayFeather receives a sign from Rock, that he must visit the Tribe of Rushing Waters, and he heads off with DoveWing, SquirrelFlight & ToadStep. He finds the Tribe, and discovers that their leader, StoneTeller is very ill and refuses to name a successor. JayFeather speaks with Rock in the Cave of Pointed Stones and then proceeds to travel to a past time again, where he visited once before in the tunnels near the lake. He finds the ancient cats at the mountains, but unsure if they should stay, and it is his job to make them stay. To JayFeather's surprise, the cat who was in love with him before he left last time, Half Moon still loves him dearly. As JayFeather teaches the Tribe how to survive in the Mountains, he finds himself wishing he could start a family with Half Moon. Rock interrupts his longing to inform him that JayFeather does not belong in the past, he must show Half Moon how to be the first ever Stone Teller, that is their destiny. As heartbreaking as it is, JayFeather follows his path, and is forced to leave the one cat he ever loved in the past, with her new destiny while he comes back to present time. But not before he shows her how to be a healer by helping her deliver kits, one who is shockingly familiar and roars like a Lion. JayFeather realizes that it is his brother, and that another cat called Dove's Wing from the past is in effect DoveWing! The chosen 3 coexisted together in the past, in the mountains!!! When he comes back, StoneTeller dies, and it is part of JayFeather's destiny to name the new StoneTeller. He then sees HalfMoon's ghost and she whispers that she will wait for him forever... :(
Back in the Clans, IvyPool and BlossomFall explore the caves on their own, only to get lost. They are helped, once by the ghost of Fallen Leaves (the cat trapped eternally in the tunnels whom JayFeather has seen many times) and the second time they are helped is by a different cat....a cat that stays in the shadows to be better hidden...HollyLeaf?!? I guess we'll have to wait till November to find out!

Warrior cats warrior cats......
First of all let me just say about the series. I started with the first series when i was about 12, and i liked them. Now i'm 15 almost 16. I keep reading these books because hey i can't just stop after all this time. I'm hoping they'll at least finish out strong, but i honestly don't enjoy them at all anymore. Around the 3'd series "Power of Three" they started to decline rapidly. By the time the 4th series "Omen of the Stars" it really lost it's merit for me. There was much less violence then before, and the love story's have already been done in the first 18 books. I wish Erin would have found a better way to end it sooner. I don't think it's just that I've grown up, the're actually getting much worse...
About this book, "Sign of the Moon" there were no fights in the whole thing which i thought was strange and a little boring. Yea the darkforest is rising great do we really have to kill these cats AGAIN Erin? nothing notable happens within it's pages. I mean yea the plot comes a little bit further along, but not much. I think it could have been summed up much quicker. I pretty much feel that after I read it that I'm at the same place i started the book. I'ts like their prolonging the battle for the 6th book in the series and there finding completely RANDOM things to write about until then. I don't think they thought of any of this before they were writing these last couple books. They'll just be like oh hey maybe I'll make this happen because i randomly felt like it. Ever since we found out Lionblaze Hollyleaf and Jayfeather weren't actually Squirrelflights kids it felt like they were making up this stuff as they go along. So i'm just like what?
I'll finish out this series, but it better be the last one.

First, if you haven't read the book, you might not want to read this, because it kind of gives away
part of the ending.
Well, there's a couple things I do NOT get.
1: In the previous book, Night Whispers, StarClan was keeping to their own original clans, and telling the medicine cat to do that. In Sign of the Moon, all of StarClan was frolicking together and sharing tongues, so this is confusing.
2. Rosepetal and Toadstep were mooning over Lionblaze. Actually, they were acting like they're apprentices just out of the nursery, trying to impress their mentors. Warriors should not act like this, bottom line.
3. The tribe. Don't tribe cats wear mud? In that whole book, not one tribe cat was wearing mud, so that was confusing, too.
4. Less is more. A lot of things in that book seemed to drag on and on after the point was already made.
5. Jayfeather. I kind of like Jayfeather, even though he isn't my favorite. They made him seem like an annoying, immature kit in this, which really turned me off.
I love the fact that there is supposed to be a '4th cat', making the power of three to the power of four. Well, how would they do this. Us readers started to know about the prophecy in Firestar's Quest, and Sky plainly stated: 'There will be three, kin of you kin, who will hold the power of the stars in their paws.' How would the people change this? Don't get me wrong, I'm sooo excited for that 'Fourth Warrior,' but it seems a little hard for Erin Hunter to do.

Tengo demasiadas preguntas y tengo que esperar meses para que se resuelvan.
Quiero cuidar a Ala de Tórtola, mi chiquita es muy sensible para estar pendiente de todo lo que sucede a su alrededor, es muy abrumador. Me preocupa un montón la distancia y hostilidad que hay entre los clanes y que cada vez es mayor.
Siento mucha curiosidad por el gato negro que ayudo a Floresta y Espinela a salir de los túneles. Hablando de Floresta, me siento mal por la forma en que Mili la trató, el hecho re que Mili sea de esas madres que se olvidan de todos sus hijos para centrarse en el invalido.
Cada vez que Glayo hace un viaje al pasado es por algo importante. Ver a los primeros gatos de la Tribu de las Aguas Rápidas, qué Glayo elija al primer Narrarocas, que elija al nuevo Narrarocas y sobretodo la revelación de Pedrusco... Wow, simplemente wow

Definitely the worst book of the arc. It was unnecessarily drawn-out and boring. The whole point of this particular chapter was confirming that the Three are reincarnated cats from the Tribe. However, this confirmation was done in a confusing and to be honest, bland way.
And it leaves me with one question, who is the fourth? The next book is called 'The Forgotten Warrior and I believe foreshadowing is leaving us to believe it's a living Hollyleaf. Or is it Stormfur? Or Ravenpaw? I guess we'll just have to read t9 find out.
