3 to 3.5 Hot Alpha Barking For His Woman Stars
* * * 1/2
Lori Leigh doesn't mess around. She is a "what you see... what you need... is what you get" author. You want hot, dominant, Alpha Navy Seal... she's got it. You want a girl who has been pining for him since she was 17... she has that, too. You want him to have always known this girl was his... always known he would claim her... yup...Lori has that for you and more. Because Lori Leigh has all of these elements down to a science.

We have a bit of a story... girl saw mom drink and worry about dad...Service took him away... she promises herself never to fall for a guy who will be in Harms Way. Her brother is a Seal... her best friend's brother is a Seal, too... What's a gal to do... except love the man and pray she is strong enough not to fall for him.

Well, he has another idea... and he has been waiting for her to be mature enough for ALL of Him.....

This was Smutastic... in all its' glory. A quick read... with all the elements you love from Ms. Leigh.
This was the first part of a series and I think they are all out.

Short, sexy and sweet. Not enough time to get to know the characters or their history, but nonetheless it was good! I read another book by this lovely author called The One, which had a little more angst and build up therefore making me love it more. One things for sure, Lora Leigh can sure write smexy time well!

4 stars!!

Well, this is a novella. But... I. DO. NOT. HAVE. REGRET!!!
I chose to love the sex.
The story is mediocre. It's about our heroine, Raven is secretly admire her best friend' brother. Hmm... It turns out the hero, Reno is fuckable enough and in a few years later, both of them lusting each other. BAM!

*cough*
I'm not sorry. Yes he is. And, thanks to my friend for her picture about who should be playing to be our Reno. No shit i got so wet. LOL

So i'm enjoying the sexy side. Not quite the story i hope but turns out okay after they're worked out some issue and happily ever after.

This was a quick little read for me, and from what I understand the first in Lora Leigh's Navy Seals stories. I have heard some wonderful things about this series, and since I am OCD, I had to read number one first. It was pretty good, although there was really a lack of plot and setting, there was a TON of sex in it. So if you like reading about sex, sex, and more of it, well this one's right up your alley! Moving on to Dangerous Games shortly!

I read this a long time ago. It was a sexy little novella filled with angst because the heroine is afraid to love the H because he's Navy SEAL like her dad and her brother. She had seen the emotional agony her mother had suffered everytime the dad was off on a mission. The mom had become an emotional wreck and an alcoholic and then was eventually destroyed after the dad was killed in combat. The heroine Raven has the hots for the H Reno but wants to protect her heart from the same kind of pain her mom endured. How sexy is Reno ? Well, he's almost as sexy as the 1 minute guitar riff that opens up Avenged Sevenfold's awesome "Hail to the King". He is also in love with Raven and wants her to give him a chance. When I had read this novella, I kept wishing the author had made it into a full length novel. I wanted more of Reno and Raven.

this book overall was great. if YOUR SOMEONE THAT WANTS A QUICK ROMANCE, THIS IS THE PLACE FOR YOU.WARNING: DO NOT READ FORWARD ....SPOILERS.TO.ALL. I LIKE TO WRITE DOWN WHAT HAPPENS THROUGHOUT BOOK SO THAT I CAN RE-READ LATER ON TO REFRESH MY MEMORY OF WHAT HAPPENED IN THE BOOK. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.

i FELT that this book had mostly sex, and no explanation once so ever of romance...sure there was love thrown in there ALOT, but i still felt that it was just sex that they did. they didnt even date, or do what normal people do. But the reason i gave this book a 4 instead of a 3 was because i can tell that they both love each other. even though this book went by too fast and the main character went into submission at one kiss, i felt that his love to her was there.

I love the ending. where she finds the ring case that reno hid from her, and so she put in a little surprise for him when he left for 2weeks(cause he's a navy). I thought her proposal to him was cute.

I am someone who loves a book where the woman is dominant, and can control her urges. and a book where there is jealousy, like lots. Even though this book had almost none of that, i still loved the love that was shown between them.

This was a delicious little snippet of erotic romantic fun! I haven't looked to far ahead but I think this is the beginning of a series, maybe? Anyway who doesn't love Navy Seal boys.
I am looking forward to more, especially because this was just a novella, so literally just whet my appetite.
Reno and Ravens story was very sweet, with the whole, known each other and being drawn to each other all there lives thing.
I loved that Reno deliberately waited for Raven because of the age difference, and by waited I don't mean he was a virgin. But in the way that he still watched her, still loved her but just knew she needed the time to get older and more mature to accept them as they needed to be.
Lora Leigh always writes sexy stories and this was definitely sexy.
Hope the rest of the series lives up to this one.

Pages of Hot sex, then pages of hotter sex, a few paragraphs of conversation, more sex, kinky sex, then sex.

I guess that about sums up the whole story. There was a very poor excuse of a plot. There was a very poor excuse of a setting. The characters had deep motivations that the author shared with us, but there was no emotional character growth on the hero's part, and about a paragraph of it for the heroine.

Top it off with poor editing, and I wonder why these have been a must-buy for me.

Refer back to the first paragraph of the review.

I'm not sure what to think of this.
On the one hand, I like the story, kinda. I like the whole "actually we have been in love for years" thing.

On the other, I hate at least 75% of the characters. He is a bully and she's afraid. I can live with being afraid of ending up like your broken-hearted always-sad mom, though. I don't like it, but I can understand it.

What I can't really live with is his way of crossing lines. Which he does constantly. So far so that, if I didn't know the girl's POV in this one, I would consider what he does sexual assault (at best). And I am not okay with that.
He claims he loves her, but doesn't once seek conversation with her instead of third base. Me, as a non-psychic person, would be unsure of her affection. After all, all the major "relationship-talk" happens with interlocked body parts.

One time, his sister (protagonist-girl's bff) calls him because protagonist-girl dares to go out and dance. *gasp* The nerve!

And why is it okay for her to call him? Well, we never really establish that, do we? Except that he treats her like she is his property after having slept with her once and not having resolved any relationship-issue or putting a label on what they are doing and obviously she belongs to him. Which makes it okay to call him to so he can finger-fuck protagonist-girl in a public place, because she has the "bad habit" to run from him instead of running into his arms. 'Tis a disgrace. The woman has second thoughts. How dare she. Especially since she had so much time to think about what he says and offers. Oh, wait, there was no real talking.

Now, me as a girl, I would have bludgeoned him to death when he went all MINE on my ass in a public place in a not-so-suitable situation. Who does that? Not that I don't appreciate a little of the caveman routine, but the poor sod danced with her. NOT against her will, I might add, and what does the guy do? Tell the poor sod who says "you can't just drag her out of here" that she belongs to him. To the not-so-great answer "I didn't see a brand on her" caveman then replies that it is a good thing he didn't look in the right place, because otherwise he would have to rip out poor-sod's throat. Really? I mean, does he really have to stand in a public place and reference his not-really-gf's girl-parts?

So, I really have no idea why I should like the guy. Yeah, he waxes poetic about the girl in his head at one time or three, but so does a delusional stalker. I really have trouble finding words to describe him (beyond the physical, because of COURSE he's perfect) except for arrogant, ass and bully.

Plus, the whole "spanking" thing he does? So not cool with the way he goes about it. I don't give a flying fuck that he apparently "knows" her and "knows what she wants", you don't just go around spanking people's ass without their explicit consent. But then, consent isn't a word he's familiar with. Believe it or not, you can change a person's mind about you without fucking them.

It's really rare for me to dislike the male protagonist of a story this much, but this one I hate. I don't need them to be extra-touchy-feely, but please, is it so hard to talk about wanting to spend the rest of your life with someone without simultaneously shoving body parts into each other?

As this is supposed to be about the plot and not the "love scenes", that shit really bothers me.

... and that is just what happens in the story/the characters.

What really grind my gears aside that? Spelling mistakes. Seriously, at one time she talks about her "barb thigh" how the hell does THAT typo happen? Doesn't anyone read books before selling them? Not to mention the punctuation that sucks. You see, punctuation has to make sense. Plus, it has to follow certain rules. "That" is not preceded by a comma if it indicates a relative clause.

It's the little things that drive you mad.

I'm a big fan of Lora Leigh and I've read time and time some of her books.
She always manages to capture my attention and hook me in with a romance or a plot that twists up my imagination.
Her male characters are always alpha and big, brooding, delicious, and I could be here all night writing adjectives and not get tired of it.
On the other hand, her female characters are sexy, strong, and always driving the male species out of their mind.
What I most like about her romance is the intense feelings that they nurture for each other, the sex is hot, hot, and so sexy.
Sometimes I do find gaps and little things in her writing that doesn't add up but everybody has to agree, her books are delicious and I'm always waiting for more.

In "Reno's Chance" we have a short story, a way to kick off this great series that book by book grew into a best seller and sometimes I go back to read.

Here we meet Reno and Raven, long time sweet hearts but never venturing more than a few kisses.
Reno knows that the woman of his life is Raven and that she runs because fear of loosing him is big when you are a Navy Seal.
But he will stop at nothing to make her see that it's all worth it in the name of love because one thing is certain, she belongs to him.

I loved this two and their game of cat and mouse. No matter how much Raven ran, Reno was right behind her every step of the way.
Raven is unsure, with a bad example in her past, she doesn't want to hurt and be like her mother, and especially loose the man she loves.
Reno does convince her nicely, with pleasure and sex, cherishing her and loving her.

I tend to return to this series time and time again to read it, I love it.
If you like a hot navy seal and a big, big love between long time sweethearts, this is the book for you.

This was a very good story. The story was hot and sweet and I liked Reno and Raven.

Raven has been in love with Reno since she was a kid. He's her best friend's big brother and her big brother's best friend. She's aware that he wants he but tries to push him away because he's a Navy SEAL. Her father was in the armed forces and it caused issues between him and her mother and he ended up dying in the line of duty. Because of this she's determined she can't get involved with Reno.

Reno let Raven push him away for year, even though he loved her, so she'd have a chance to grow up and mature in to the woman he knew would be his (since he's 6 years older than her she needed some time to catch up). He finally decides it's been long enough and that he's going to get Raven to admit her feeling for him and start their future together.

TBH, with their history there's not a lot of buildup so it gets pretty steamy pretty quickly. The emotions are there though...it's great to see badass Reno get all soft and sweet with Raven, knowing she's his one and only and worrying about winning her over. Reno uses sex to break past Raven's initial defenses and as things progress, he gets her to stop pushing him away as he pulls out her feeling for him and admits his feelings for her. Then he just has to convince her that being together is worth the risk of his job. Fortunately Raven stops living in the valley of DeNile and the story ends really well.

I really enjoyed this story. It was short but very hot and sweet. I really liked Reno and Raven and was happy to root for them. I'd recommend this story. Thumbs up! :D

Raven has been craving Morganna's brother Reno, since she was little. The chance to be with him was never an option due to their age difference and Reno only seeing Raven as his little sisters best friend. Now, they're both adults and Renos back home from duty and neither have attachments to anyone else.

Alright, this is the 2nd book I've read by this author and I must say from what I've read so far, not a fan. I'm giving it 2 stars and it's only because of the naughtiness the book entails, which I like. I consider myself a "season woman" because I like the change of scenery in my books meaning...gimme some drama, action, murder, steamy love scenes....something other than just the naughty bits. I mean seriously...why every other page? (and yes, I'm definitely over exaggerating...but it was ridiculous).

Raven drove me crazy, she spent most of the book trying to convince herself why she shouldn't be with Reno. Really? The MANY years pining for this man didn't give you enough assurance to know this is something you need to pursue? Ugh. I guess when I read the authors description of the book, on this one, I shouldn't have assumed there was more to the story.

Having said all the above, this IS only my 2nd book of hers, and from the many 4 & 5 star reviews...perhaps her other books are better reads. Doubt I'll try them out unless a ŷ friends recommends one. Highly disappointed.

Signora Leigh

Not much of a story amidst all the sex. Raven (another of LL's kinky virgins) has loved Reno all her life, but struggles to accept that he is a Seal who lives a life of danger. After waiting years for Raven to mature (shoulda waited several years longer based on her behavior in the story), Reno has decided to stake his claim. Not much of either's actions makes a whole lot of sense. After a bunch of sex scenes, there are a couple of fast forwards in the relationship and the kids are happily ever after.

This is a short that comes before the Navy SEAL's series. From the first, I've wanted Reno and Raven's story and here it is.

More hot than story but enough character to keep me reading. I do wish there was more to it since both characters play so heavy in the novels that follow. One thing Leigh does well is erotica and this certianly doesn't disappoint in that area. If you want to read hot sex, this is a great story for it. If you want a good love story, this isn't it. There isn't enough story to it to call it good.

I love Lora Leighs Navy Seals books, but this is just a novella, which I am not a huge fan of, but I have always wanted to know Reno and Ravens story, and got this cheap. I just felt as though I was getting into their story, when it was over, but that is novellas for you, give me a thicker book any day. I did enjoy their story though, but am only giving it three stars, as there was no real drama to it.

Aside from the sex scenes, this entire book consists of Raven attempting to convince herself that she can't/shouldn't be with the man she loves. The fact that he loves her back and pursues her mercilessly doesn't matter, she really feels the need to torture them both anyway.
