Time Temptress

Rate this book
All author Lanie Barrett wanted when she purchased one left shoe from an antique dealer was to get an idea for a story that would sell. Instead, she got a trip to Antebellum South Carolina where a madman in a carriage nearly runs her down in the street.

What's a girl to do when faced with a true Southern gentleman in the pre Civil War South? Tease him, of course.

Daniel Hastings had no idea the woman he nearly killed was from over a hundred years in the future. However, he did know that she was the most beautiful woman he'd ever seen. When danger stalks his new houseguest in his own home, he does everything he can to protect her. He might even be able to think straight if she would only stop getting out of bed half-dressed!

This is what happens when you are doing an alphabetical challenge and need an author whose name begins with x. There's not a lot to choose from and this one said time travel/romance. Well the time travel bit wasn't too bad - a bit silly but still fun. However the romance was actually leaning well towards erotica and it was a bit more than I really wanted to read. Still it wasn't actually awful so I read the whole book and can now tick off x on my to read list!

Lonely woman travels through time to the pre-Civil War South and meets her Prince Charming. Overall not a bad story, though there are plenty of eye roll inducing moments.

Lanie bought one left shoe. Once she touch the shoe she traveled to the past where she met Daniel. Of course they fall madly in love in a week and can't imagine life without each other.

The story wasn't terrible for a time travel book. Of course there were a lot of loop holes but that is to be expected from a time travel book in general. What is not as forgivable is the editing.
