It gives voice to half-baked thoughts I had, and voiced questions and confusions I had, coming, as I am, from a print based tradition. Its particularly valuable for writers, from wannabe to proficient. Internet writing is different, neither worse nor better, but definitely somethig new, and seeing how it is different, and how and why it has taken on the shape it has, is both fascinating, and important. The author does not judge internet style or non internet writing, and he also doesn't leave non internet writing out of his analysis, important for putting internet style in context of wider world of writing.
