Hey, is there a sequel planned?

Hi Silvy! There IS a sequel planned. I am hoping it will be out later this year. As an indie author who doesn't write full-time, it's hard to give a firm publication date. Ultimately I want to give you the best possible sequel and not rush out something subpar. But I will let you know as soon as I can. Thanks for your interest, it means a great deal! x
This is the best news of the year! Best writing wishes to you and I can’t wait to see when preorders are open (if you do them).
I love Lorn's POV best (sorry Sasha).
And I LOOOOVE this guide to read in chronological order, thanks for sharing 🩷

Melissa, you are incredible and I owe you at least one mildly cursed prince with a nice neck! Thank you SO much! x

Don't reread it! Think of your poor retinas! (also, you are amazing and brave to not only tackle the chonk beast once but to battle it again). That deserves at least a bag of radishes and a battle chicken x

You are incredibly welcome! (Isa and Jade's excellent chronological organization should be shared). And lol, I love that you loved Lorn's POV best, too (I'm sorry too, Sasha). Thank you so much for reading!!!
I have been wondering why you split it up the way you did so thank you for explaining! Do you plan to write the second book the same way or have alternating POV instead? Thank you for writing such an amazing book! I loved it 💕

What a truly lovely comment! Thank you!
I initially tried writing Between with alternating POVs and it was such a disaster that my editor told me to delete the file and never speak of it again. Fun times!
I know that separating the POVs doesn't work for everyone, but on the upside, it allowed me to write a lot more about Between through Lorn's POV and give readers a glimpse of what awaits Sasha when she becomes queen--something that wouldn't have been possible with alternating POVs as it would have slowed the pace of the book (further).
In some ways, I like the split because it's symbolic of the separation between Sasha and Lorn; they're in different realms, and the only overlap in their POVs is during Sasha's dreams when they finally get a chance to interact. So I guess the structure of the book reflects their relationship.
Now, in Otherworld, they're in the same realm most of the time, and the structure reflects that--it's alternating POVs, though there is more emphasis on Sasha's POV.
Thank you SO much for reading and for being interested in the sequel! It warms the cockles of my dark, dark heart (whatever a cockle may be) xx
I read the book straight through, then I listened to the audiobook, so now I have to read it in alternating! I seriously can’t wait for the next book too!
Loved the book! I found the 2 parts to be a good way to go, but maybe for my re-read before the second book I’ll try chronological order 😊
For what it's worth, as a fellow indie author, I think you could easily do a chronological edition of Book 1 with the release of Book 2 for fans who really want it!
I loved Between's chonk, I was captivated the whole time! I read it during a hard time and it pulled me out of it, like a hook in my belly ;) One of my most favorite books I've ever read! Can't wait for the sequel! Thank you for sharing your creation with us <3
i listened to this on Audible, and its lovely! I love the easygoing pace and the cheeky humor both in the dialogue and the plot! the coven were so fun! I was sad about the change in POV, but by the 3rd chapter I was in love with the shenanigans! "death march of a deranged chicken" i laughed out loud at that line! such a cozy read for halloween! it's got all my favorite romance and coming of age and elements that are so popular in fantasy books right now, but with a lighthearted and cozy twist! i can't wait until your second book!! i with there were ways we can support you to writing full time!!!

What an absolutely lovely comment! Thank you so much for taking the time to write it. I am truly happy that you enjoyed the audiobook (the phenomenally talented Emily Ellet and Steve West made the audiobook at least 157% more enchanting than the paperback). And I'm even happier that you persevered into Lorn's section (which is my favorite part of the book). That was very brave of you! Truly, thank you for supporting this chonky beast of a book xx
Agnieszka wrote: "It's 2024 and there is still no sequel. I was hoping for the end of 2023..." So was I ;) Trust me when I say no one wants Otherworld finished more than I do. My ultimate goal is to give you the very best sequel I can possibly write and that means lots and lots of revisions and edits. Given that I don't write full-time (a pox on my job!), this process takes time. I can't thank you enough for all your patience and support during this long wait! x
I absolutely LOVED that you delivered us a chonk, everything about this book was perfect and I seriously cannot wait for the next book!!
Loved this book, and I hope one day you can write full-time because you're amazing at it!!! Any new updates about Otherworld? Last ones on your website were from Feb, and I'm very selfishly wishing & hoping there's more Sasha & Lorn in my life soon :)
Just finished re-listening to Between and possibly even more in love with it this time! Please please make Otherworld an audio too (and Emily Ellet and Steve West were so so perfect as narrators!), just a wonderful experience all round!
Hi! I just found this in kindle and love the synopsis but it was mentioned this was the first book? So does tht mean this book ends in a cliffhanger or is it a standalone? I hate reading books which end in cliffhanger and tht doesn't have the second book published leaving me waiting.. I'll just wait n read it all together than to wait (hehe). Tht why asking. Is this book a standalone?
