Andrew Barrett Hi Paul. I don't usually comment on reviews, but having read yours, I decided I would. There's nothing wrong with your opinions right up to the final paragraph. You might have visited Leeds, but I have worked Leeds for 24 years, and there ARE places like that - in fact, I based that location on one such place that was every bit as mad as the descriptions in the book (except for the killing machine). And yes, that includes rodent infestation and slugs on the kitchen worktops, so I'm afraid you cannot say that Leeds is not like that. Parts of it certainly are.
Lastly, are you telling me that in your CSI career, you never came across people who were highly intelligent but couldn't keep themselves or their house clean? Well, you are blessed, sir.
