this strikes me as a very tired version of every put down of women as wives and mothers (they won't stop talking/they wont shut up). i don't find this funny or interesting
Which leads me to wonder...is she still alive? Or is she dead and still screaming?
It's humorous and was posted in response to a request. Humor is the one place where political correctness has no business messing with. Let's cancel Dave Chapelle because he tells Trans jokes.
Joan, you might explore your need to project onto a simple response to a request, your need to criticize anything that appears to you to be a put-down of women. If you don't like it change the sexes of the characters and it's still funny.
Respect for women includes not being afraid to poke fun at the stereotypes.
I don't understand how this is a "put-down" of women? The screaming has to do with the murder and not with her being a woman. The horror is in realizing you're buried alive. Yeah, that's worth screaming your head off about.
Maybe the first sentence in your next novel? This is awesome!
