I had exactly the same question.
The FBI and Marshalls office was involved because of the Mafia conneciton with Wilde's mother and father. Wilde is informed about Pastor Paul by the retired
NYPD detective Danielle Sheer, relaying information from RJ the Memphis police office who investigated Pastor Paul.
How are Wilde’s parents related to the Pastor?
The pastor would not be related to Wilde’s parents. The pastor raped Vicky, and thus is Peter Bennett’s father. Wilde’s mother is apparently a second (or third?) cousin of Vicky’s.
