Alan I gave talks on birds at Kensington Library and Weymouth, UK (as well in Milano, in Italian--got onto Radio Uno and RAI Tre). On my birdtalk book, sci and lit. And thanks for liking my WBYeats rev.

Marit Pinto you're lucky! I have 2 pending manuscripts (I'm just an amateur) for a couple of years now because of writer's block :( I can't do what you do, unfortunately I live in City centre and in a building surrounded by extreme noisy people.. this is the reason why I feel unable to resume my writing

Leo . I live in a city too but, it is not far to find some countryside.

I would not consider myself lucky though. I suffer with extreme mental health problems. My book was written in 1999 and it was such a long drawn out and exasperating time to finally get my book published.

All I can say is stick with it. You know that you are a talented writer and don't have to convince anybody. Writers block sucks. I try to work on more than one project at a time. This helps as a change is as good as a rest. When one is vigorously trying to get inspiration on one topic it can create a cabin fever type scenario and one cannot see the woods for the trees.
I think the most difficult process is what I am experiencing now, self promotion. One is in control of one's writing but not on what people think and can only hope that one's work gets the recognition it deserves.

Marit Pinto oh I can relate with you, I have FM and suffer from extreme noisy sensitivity & anxiety, it sucks.. When I said that you were lucky I didn't mean you have it all, I was just saying that because you can go to a park to relax, I have a couple in my City as well but too crowded and noisy I'm afraid but alas we can't have perfect lives! Concerning to what you said about your work's recognition I understand. You know, I'm pretty sure that when I managed to finish my 2 novels and decide to finally publish my poems I won't be famous whatsoever but this is just a personal dream, I'll be happy when I publish them. In the meantime I wish you all the best and take it easy, have fun!)
