I really like Larry Niven's short story The Soft Weapon, which became an animated Star Trek episode. I'm not sure if we could talk about it for a whole episode though.

It's kind of like Survivorman on Mars.

Her latest fantasy series is supposed to be good, and different from what I'm reading.

At least her first sf series has kind of a near future gritty feel to it.
