The ring! Ugh so creative and again I didn't see it coming. Such beautiful writing, especially in those last chapters.
I cannot wait to discuss this in the live show!

I still think Sulifer is one note, and Darian was a bit predictable as well, but I think the other characters more than make up for it.
I guessed her and Zhian were "betrothed". I'm glad Caspida finally believes her and sees how the story has been manipulated all this time.
I want to like her romance with Aladdin but I still don't buy it. A 4,000 year old magical being does not fall in love with a human in a month! Why can't they just be friends?!? Sad face.
I love all of the other characters though and even Aladdin has grown on me a bit. But I love that the power houses in this story are the girls.

I'm hoping that Sulifer and Darian become a little less one note, especially Sulifer. I'm guessing one of them will take Zahra and we might see a little more of them then.
I don't completely love the romance between Aladdin and Zahra. I like them both individually as characters (Zahra the most obviously though Aladdin is growing on me). But I just don't buy the romance. She is thousands of years old and usually acts like it, except with the romance. If this wasn't a YA, and Aladdin was older and more mature, I might buy it. I prefer them more as friends.
I'm interested to see Zhian. I get the impression that they are either "siblings" or possibly once betrothed and maybe that's way she got enslaved to the lamp is the first place?? We'll see.
Still loving this!

I love Zahra. My only complaint is a wish she wasn't attracted to Aladdin. She is much wiser than he is so I don't get the attraction. I love that she admits that she loved the old queen, Roshana. I want to know more about their past and what happened with that betrayal because it obviously wasn't what it seemed. I want to know about Zahra's past in general.
I love Caspida as well. Really all of the lady characters I love. Aladdin I'd enjoy more if he wasn't being set up as a love interest. He's fine as a snarky side character, not a love interest. My preference, if there needs to be a romance in this, is for him to end up with Caspida and Zahra to be free in the end.
Is this just a standalone?? Because I could have a whole trilogy in this world.

I love Zahra. She's written so well in that she feels like she has lived for 4,000 years. I like how it's written as if she's talking to her former master and friend as well. It feels more personal that way.
I love the potential heist plot in that they will have to break out this other jinn. I love heists!

Ronan defending Adam <3 I'm glad Adam is finally out of that shitty situation.
I love Noah. I hope they find a way to make him more substantial again.
Neeve is creepy. Still. Always.

So I actually knew Noah was dead because of tumblr. Oops. But I didn't know how or when it was revealed. I wish I hadn't known that because I'd imagine it's a big shock. I loved the foreshadowing we got with that.
Everyone says this book isn't creepy BUT THEY ARE WRONG. I've definitely had to step away sometimes just because the atmosphere is so creepy and bizarre. It's the perfect fall read.

I loved the scene in the clearing with the tree. It was so atmospheric and really felt like the story was taking off. I wish Ronan would participate more. I want to know more about him and we find out the most during these "magical" moments.
Still not sure what to think of Neeve. That scrying scene was creepy. But I'm not sure if she's inherently evil.
I'm glad these chapters finally solidified this group as on the same mission, moving forward. Blue is a part of it and things can really get going.

I think Noah is dead as well. He doesn't seem the type to make a joke like that, and he is a serious character. He also is constantly described as fading and disheveled. He doesn't eat. He doesn't go where other people see him. I like the limbo idea.
I love Adam and Gansey the most. Gansey because he is such an old soul nerd and Adam because he is sweet. I like Ronan too but I need more from him than just hard edges before I really start to love him.
I love all the psychic women as well. The reading scene was so full of big personalities. Can't wait to to see Blue integrate herself into the boys circle because you know she won't be able to stay away.

I didn't find it particularly slow, but I tend to enjoy really slow reads so I probably didn't pick up on it. I find that I'm much more intrigued by the characters than by the ley line quest. I love Blues family, and the Raven boys. I cannot wait to learn more about them.
It's adorable how Blue and Gansey's first interaction was so awkward! I love how feisty she is and how he's an oblivious nerd.
Also, I'm going against the grain and saying I love Adam the most at the moment. He's a precious cinnamon bun.
