60919 Oooh, love Robin McKinley. So of course, I already have this. :)

60919 I've got an interview with Carina Press and Decadent author Diane Dooley on my blog, including a giveaway of her sci fi romantic short story Mako's Bounty. I've never seen a male lead like her Vin Sainte. It's such a fun story! She's also looking for urban fantasy recommendations, if anyone has some to share.

The giveaway is open until April 2nd.

60919 I wonder if that's one of the reasons that it so captivated an entire generation (among others), because they didn't get older and leave the characters behind. They grew up together.

60919 I don't read a lot of YA, but this is one I'm really looking forward to. When the Sea is Rising Red by Cat Hellisen I was lucky enough to beta a short story by the author and, wow. She's one of those special minds that I don't fully understand but really enjoy reading.

60919 I couldn't access those episodes from the States before it came to SyFy here. (not sure if they're now available to U.S. IP addresses) I would hope, now that the show's on a larger, international market, that Showcase will unlock, or SyFy will provide access.

And...yes. The steamy scenes get STEAMY.

60919 I'm not a big TV person, but if you're in the U.S. and like urban fantasy, I recommend LOST GIRL, which SyFy just started airing. It's the first season of a Canadian show that debuted last year, I believe.

Alaska. We've got ice fog so thick this morning that it's basically still dark out. And the air is sharp. :(

60919 Did DBtM have the cooling effect you were hoping for, Jenny? I'd love to weather-trade you right now. It's -15 F today, and we've got no heat and burst pipes at the day job. I'm typing this while wearing little, striped gloves. :(

60919 I have to recommend Stacia Kane's Downside series to anyone who's looking for dark urban fantasy. Sacrificial Magic (Downside Ghosts, #4) by Stacia Kane Sacrificial Magic, the fourth book, comes out this year.

60919 No, Jenny, it certainly won't. :)

60919 Hi, All!

I think the first fantasy book I remember has to be A Wrinkle in Time. I would love to meet Sherlock Holmes (especially if he bears any resemblance to Robert Downey Jr.).

Sadly, I don't have a chance to read everyday. Definitely weekly, though sometimes it's a few stolen moments while brushing my teeth. :(
