My favorite book. It's funny, depressing, and real. The protagonist is one of the most insanely fun and real characters ever written. I've never read a book before or since that has made me think to myself "Oh man, that's so true." as this one. Pure social commentary on all sides of the social spectrum and fun to boot.

This is quite possibly the best piece of modern literature I've read. It manages to maintain a very intelligent commentary while staying away from becoming overly dense. I'd recommend this to anyone for more or less any reason.

This is a book unlike any I have ever read. It's part tale of a young boy growing up, of grief of losing a father in 911, an adventure to find a mysterious lock to fit a key. Told through the thoughts of this young boy it is an intriguing, heartwarming, adventure story.

Why we're reading this

After reading An Object of Beauty I decided to read this autobiography and really enjoyed it! I remember the bunny ears and arrow through the head hats and I had a "Wild and Crazy Girl" t-shirt when I was a kid. I absolutely love SNL and have since I used to fall asleep watching it as a kid. Oddly enough, now I fall asleep watching it at 41. I love the way Mr. Martin writes and it was interesting to read about all the "soon-to-be" famous people that he befriended and his personal struggles during his stand-up career. I look forward to reading more of his books.
