I loved this book! Julia and Emily are terrific characters. Flawed, funny and both feel like they are unloved or unlovable. Sawyer and Win are handsome fellas that you can't help but like a lot. Heart throbs... And Emily's grandfather is a giant of a man. I couldn't put this book down, but I did when I had to work, consequently it took me three days to read it, rather than my usual week. Love Sarah Addison Allen's quirky stories and I can't wait for the next one. ...more

I loved loved loved this book. I read it in 2 nights. I didn't want it to end but I didn't want to stop either. I would have liked to gotten more into the magic of the town. And a little bit more about the grandfather he didn't seem to know much about why the wallpaper changed in his granddaughter's room or why Sawyer could see the aroma of sweets. Sarah Addison Allen is such a wonderful author and writes such magical books and this book is no exception to that rule. I loved the story, the characters, the setting, pretty much everything about this book!

I love happy endings and Ms. Allen has not one, but at least four happy endings in this book. I love the wallpaper, the mysterious clothes dryer, the cakes, oh my the cakes!

Every-time I finish reading one of her books I feel all the more richer for the experience, give your spirit a gift and
