I requested this book at the library when a friend informed me it had been released. I didn't read anything about the story beforehand...I just knew it was a new book by the author of _Garden Spells_. I'm glad now that I didn't read any information or reviews, because it made the whole story all the more fresh.

This sophomore novel is as charming as the first. In the beginning, the food metaphors were annoying, but they grew on me through the story. Yes, it's magical and predictable, but its' sweetness (pun intended) mixed with the serious subject matter and surprising ending make it my latest favorite. I will buy the next novel by this author.

Another solid novel from Sarah Addison Allen -
I honestly can't get enough of her enchanting story telling.
I would recommend her novels to anyone looking for a story full of heart and a little magic.
