I loved this book so much. I finished it today and read the last pages I needed to. This story was so sweet.

Characters-10- the characters in this book are gems. I loved them, and I loved how each kid had a distinct personality and their own history. The main character Linus is also great, and I enjoyed him.

Atmosphere-10- The Cozy Fantasy vibes are strong with this one, and I'm here for it! I loved being swept away as I read this book.

This book, is exactly what I needed. It鈥檚 the perfect mix between Harry Potter, Roald Dahl, and A Series of Unfortunate Events, but with much more progressive messages and oh it meant so much to me

The characters: I fell in love with every single one. I would die for any of the kids, especially Lucy and Chauncey. They all deserve the world and Arthur is trying to give it to them, in a little corner where they鈥檒l be safe. Linus is so kind at heart and I was so happy to see his character developme This book, is exactly what I needed. The setting: PLEASE ITS SET ON AN ISLAND SURROUNDED BY A CERULEAN SEA AND THE HOUSE IS SO COOL AND THE GARDEN AND THE FOREST AKWJEJEKEK
鈥淒on鈥檛 you wish you were here?鈥� Yes, yes I do. I want to help Thalia in her garden and maybe get buried there if I make her angry, I want Phee to show me around the forest and show me how she grows flowers. I want Lucy to proclaim my death and plagues that he will bring upon the world before giving me a hug and dancing around the kitchen with his favorite record playing in the background. I want to help Chauncey practice being a bellhop and I鈥檒l make sure to have lots of laundry for him to wash and coats for him to take, and of course tip him handsomely. I want to be able to snip all of my buttons off my jackets and shirts and give them to Theodore so he can add them to his horde and watch him chirp happily. I want to write with Sal and exchange poetry with him, help him heal and show him that I鈥檓 still healing too.
I want to go on adventures with everybody, and defeat cannibals and man eating snakes and finish it off with a picnic and Lucy complaining that 鈥渢he real treasure was the friendships we solidified along the way鈥� doesn鈥檛 count because we were already his friends.
I want to take them on trips to the village where they are no longer feared, and can get ice cream without being shouted at-
And forgive me I鈥檓 crying again.

The book is like stepping into a ray of sunshine on a warm summer day, a light breeze and the ocean in the distance. It鈥檚 like someone laughing and pulling your hand to say 鈥渃ome on, let鈥檚 go!鈥� and of course you go because there is a warm ball of light in your chest and everything feels right.

It鈥檚 cute and gay and magical in so many ways. Definitely recommend for something heartwarming that gets you right in the feels at times. I really hope we get a sequel at some point.
