In a world of spirits and ghosts, Samantha Shannon found an interesting new point of view, in a interesting story.
It took some concentration to read the first chapters, because you get thrown into the deep immidiately. Getting used to the slang and all the new structures while trying to picture London took some effort.

First thing you need to know is you should really get the audiobook for this one. Because the actress doing the reading has an absolutely gorgeous voice. She doesn't do a whole lot of different voices, but there are subtle shifts and her voice is just gorgeous. So there's that.

Really intriguing read, although I think mastering the differences between the clairvoyants was probably what hindered me from giving the book 5 stars. There is a glossary of terms in the back which provides more understanding but for me as the reader, it would have helped to have more of that throughout the book. The characters are engaging, fierce, and the reader is immediately drawn into the story. I feel like this will definitely be made into a movie just because there are so many elements t

While I read several reviews stating that there was too much fluff & useless information about the setting & backstory, I tend to disagree with this statement. However, I believe if I had read this as opposed to listen to it via audible I think I would have agreed. But for an audio book I think this helps in building the world & setting; the readers accent lended to the dialect of protagonist. The narrative is your typical dystopian fantasy, but diverts from your traditional cast of paranormal c
