This is the first in The Lords of Satyr series, and I've gotta say, it's very creative and fascinating. Sexually, it wasn't *as* kinky as I'd expected, but I am also very open-minded and not easily shocked, so...

A lot of reviewers on Amazon felt like this book was very "cold." Like there was little to no romance in it, but in my opinion, that's sort of how many regency-era historicals read for me... people in that time had to stifle and deny themselves a lot for the sake of "propriety," so... I didn't find it any less romantic than many regency historicals I've read.

I've never read a paranormal series that is based in Greek mythology, which has been an addiction for me since grade school when I saw CLASH OF THE TITANS [hee hee:], so that was a refreshing change.

Also, it takes place mainly in Tuscany on a huge vineyard, so with the beautiful imagery of Europe mixed in with Regency-era historical fashion and architecture, it felt truly decadent, and not just because of the hot sex.

The best thing about the book is how the couple decided to be HONEST with each other and open to their sexuality, rather than abiding by society's rules and hangups. I won't say much more on that, but as a married woman, I found the progression of their relationship to be really amazing.

Oh, and the "blindfold" scene turned me into a PUDDLE. A very good start to an intriguing series.
