This review originally appeared on my blog,

After liking (4 star review) so much last year, I was a little scared to start THE PIRATE’S WISH. Would it be full of the same awesomeness and kick butt characters that I liked from the first book?

Once I got over that fear, I couldn’t stop reading. I had the same magical feeling of “I’m not putting this book until I finish it that I had with THE ASSASSIN’S CURSE. Whew!

THE PIRATE’S WISH starts off with Ananna and Naj

When we start (or should i say get back too?) we continue where we last saw our two characters, stranded on an enchanted island. A pirate and and assassin, bound by a curse, have to complete three "impossible tasks" before they can go their separate ways. As their troubles continue they face beasts and enemies that would much rather see them dead. But what happens when their emotions begin interfering? How will Ananna, our protagonist, handle the hurdles she has thrown at herself? Will the want ...more

I will be opening this post with something i never do:

That's right, i loved this book so much I'm breaking into gif!
But seriously "The Pirate's Wish" is the perfect continuation of "The Assassin's Curse", this book starts where the last book ended, namely Ananna and Naji stuck together on Isles of the Sky without breaking the curse, but getting pointers on how to break the curse.

With a 3 "Impossible" tasks:

Hold the princess’s Starstones skin against stone
 Create life out of violence
 Expe

Note: This is a book 2. Some parts of this review will be spoilery if you haven't read book 1, The Assassin's Curse (link goes to my review). That book was fantastic, so go read it if you love YA, action adventure, and fairytales.

Once again, I devoured this book, world and characters. Right away, as we get back into the mind of Ananna, our strong, clever pirate princess, I was enthralled. Her voice is unique and it was easy to get back into this world and our continuing adventure.

(Recap) The Assassin's Curse

I re- read The Assassin's Curse to gear up for The sequel. I have been waiting FOR.EV.ER. to get my hands on The Pirate's Wish. You can see my gushing/ fangirling review from last year HERE. Seeing as how, this was one of my top 3 favorite books of last year (okay, top 2) You guys know me and my affinity for all things assassin and Pirate. I still love this book so much. I had pre-ordered it last year after I read the eARC from Netgalley. Needles

This book picks up pretty much where The Assassin's Curse left off, and I really appreciated that. It didn't feel like diving into the story right in the middle; instead, it felt like we were just picking up right where we left off. Getting back into the dialect was a little rough, but I still think it adds to the story and to understanding Ananna, and anyone who has read The Assassin's Curse really won't mind it at all.

I still love Naji, and I'm so glad that he and Ananna are finally able to wo

I heaped a lot of expectations onto this book, I had a dream list of things I NEEDED for this book to deliver. And while nothing happened as I had imagined- so many unexpected things kept my nerves on edge or butterflies a fluttering- this was an absolute wish fulfillment.

New characters gave this second book a new feel and new dimensions. And Annana felt so real and so human in this book, so much like the first, readers will sympathize with her insecurities, hurt pride, fear, and embarrassment.

A light read. Not too predictable although some of the stuff that happened was kind of weird and a little too convenient. Still it was quite enjoyable.

Advisory given the YA categorisation:
The relationship between Ananna and Naji develops into a sexual one however there is no explicit content.
The book includes a gay relationship.

This book had all the things I liked in the first book humor, magic, mystery, action, awesome shenanigans and adventure.

And of course it doesn't hurt that my ship is now canon.
