One of the better books on the Pacific War, detailed enough without being plodding.

It also covered areas that are often overlooked in general books on the subject like the Japanese invasion of China, the Burma theater, the Russian invasion at the close of the war.

Great insights into the Japanese leadership and into the common soldier

This book provides a comprehensive overview of the final 2 years of the war with Japan. It is very well researched and helps the reader understand events in relation to one another and to the overall timeline. Although rather lengthy, it is well organized and interesting throughout.
