Second ending sucks balls! Call it egocentrism or hewing to the concept of negativity as truth or whatever, but the original ending is simply truer and the revised one adds a lot of flash and some plantation agonies to basically no effect. Elia Kazan was seriously misguided in wanting Big Daddy back; he did not need to come back, the play was fine ending without him.
