The Secret Garden is cozy and atmospheric and meant to be indulged in while laying by an open window during a rainstorm or while lounging in a garden nook.
I used to watch this movie all the time with my nanny when I was a kid, but I had never read the book. Reading the book brought back so many memories of the movie (and my nanny).
I'm afraid to review this book. Mostly because I know I won't do it justice. This book has a very special place in my heart. When I was 8, I asked Santa to bring me books. "Santa" brought me 5 hard-bound, adapted classics for children. This book was one of the bunch. I was drawn to the full color illustrations at the beginning of every chapter. I would stare at them for several minutes taking in all the detail before I read the chapter.
