One reviewer wrote: I found this tale of early Christianity a real page turner. Told by a close observer, this "piece of fiction" presents a well research and plausible story of Jesus, a thinker and teacher whose place in our Western heritage is deserved even with out any divinity. I have no difficulty recommending this "gospel as novel, novel as gospel" to friends seeking a way to think about Jesus outside of organized Christianity. The writer is especially good at interpreting Jesus' message as a guide to living a good life. I am sure I will read it more than once.
