I really liked this book and the suspense level was great. I feel that the book was a bit rushed, I think the ending could have been drawn out more. In a flip of a page it was all settled and everyone was happy ever after, in a way. The epilogue was good, and I think it could have and should have been included as a few more chapters in the book.

I enjoyed this book, can't wait for the next one, my only concern with this one was that it was rushed....

Ok, how amazing was it that Claire really stepped up and did some serious damage in this book. When she shot Morley with the cross bow I was cheering so loud. I was so happy for her and so proud of her. She was much tougher in this book.

Her relationship with Shane was even better with this book. When he grabbed her by the hand at the end of the book when they were getting off of the elevator and led her to his room, my heart was swelling. How awesome was that!!!! Their kissing and touching throughout the book was so great. I loved that he gave her the ring....

Oliver!!! Woo Hoo!!! I so loved him in this book. I have always liked him, but this one you had no idea if he was really against them or not. When he called Amelie on speaker phone, my heart sank because I was not sure what she was going to have him do to them. When he let them walk away and then said, "I am sorry" OH I could not breathe...... AMAZING

Morley was a great addition to this book, loved his spirit, his badness then how he worked with Oliver. I loved it. I think it was so rushed at the end when he decided to stay in the town and take over....I think more time could have been given to that....

Michael broke my heart when he was watching Eve with the kids....he knows that he can't have that with her....How sad!! I am afraid that in the next books something may happen, and there might not be an Eve and Michael!!!!

I wonder if Myrnin knew what was going to happen and if that was why he was so sad when Claire was leaving? I love him....

Just when you think that its all over....It's not.
I like this series bc it reminds you that vampires are not nice "People" that sparkel in the sun.They drink human boold.The hunt they are mean...I like Claire she is just a human girl who up until the year before had noidea about vampires.She moves to morganville an everything in her life is turned upside down. Now with Bishop out of the picture you think thins would calm down.No her friends go to dallas so that claire's friend Michael can make a ...more

It was nice to read about their adventures outside of Morgansville. Looking forward to seeing where this goes next. However, I do hope at some point, the kids can have some amount of time with no drama. Not likely.

Another great story by Rachel Caine. I love how in this series, the characters continue to grow believably even though there's so much supernatural element in the premise. I enjoy the direction Claire is taking as she grows up. Even the vampires change in response to the main characters as the storyline progresses. The story arc in this particular book was surprising and unpredictable and also lots of fun. I loved it. ...more
