What Members Thought

The premise for this was a great idea, my only complaint is that she chose so many obscure (unless apparently you are a MFA student) authors and stories. Of course she also discussed many of literature's best, many of which were the old standbys. She rarely if ever discussed any new or contemporary authors, unless they were the obscure ones, I knew nothing about. Still a worthwhile read to discover how authors all use the basic building blocks (words) to convey their own meaning.

Excellent book for writers and readers, especially those who appreciate literary interpretation.
Engaging and inspiring, but a little heavy on classic literature before the 1900's. ...more
